It’s hard not to fall for the cute photographer who takes photos at every game. Colby just needs to prove to her that he’s worth the risk and not like every other hockey player.
This is supposed to be Colby Smith's big year. He’s finally a starting goalie for the Cleveland Sound and he’s up for a major contract. But most importantly, he’s going to make a move on his crush. All he has to do was make sure he could prove he wasn’t like most hockey players and not let his anxiety get to him. Easy-peasy, right?
Christine loved working for the Cleveland Sound as a game day photographer. Even without the team forbidding any relationships with the players, she had a strict rule, no hockey players. Then Colby came into her world. He wasn’t like most of the guys. He was sweet and listened to her. Most importantly, he was willing to help out with her big break in the artist world.
Curl up with Chasing Love where the goalie has to prove that he’s worth the risk and stop the girl from running away.
Get reacquainted with the Cleveland Sound hockey team in this steamy yet sweet standalone novel in the Loving the Sound series. This book can be enjoyed in any order of the series. If you love sexy sports romances and office romances with an HEA, this book is for you! This book contains mature content such as coarse language and sexual content.
You'll enjoy Christine and Colby's story. If you like sports themed romance you'll love this hockey romance. She was the team photographer and he was the goalie. This is part of the Loving the Sound Series but can be read as a standalone. He has to prove to her that he's different from the average hockey player and make her break her rule of not dating players. They're a great couple with explosive chemistry. A great read with a good story line and likable characters. I read an advance copy and voluntarily chose to review it.
4.5 Stars for Chasing Love (Loving Sound #6) I haven’t read every book in this series so I can honestly say Colby and Christines’s romance can certainly be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone but in saying that I’m sure like me once you one of the books in this series, you will want more. Colby Smith is the goalie for the Cleveland Sound Hockey Team, he is living his dream as an NHL player and life is good. The only thing that would make life better would be a date with the team’s photographer Christine…….. Christine loves her job and from the moment she joined the Cleveland Sound she put in a rule of never dating a hockey player, it’s a rule she intends to keep because most of her life has been spent around hockey jocks and players, so will Colby convince her to break her own rule…… Kat Obie’s writing is as strong as her characters, she isn’t afraid to cover subjects others shy away from and this book is no different as we join this couple on their journey and like most journeys there are some twists and turns along the way. We see the anxiety Colby has suffered for years as he fights for the girl he loves, we watch Christine try to uphold her rule as she fights the attraction and love for Colby so will love win the day. This is an entertaining read that I highly recommend.
This is a sweet and sexy sports romance between Colby and Christine. The author brings humor, anxiety ,love and a strong determination along with tons of steam and delivers a terrific story. It's well written with descriptive scenes, moves quickly and smoothly and is a great read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
One thing I know for sure, this author writes good, steamy, interesting hockey stories! No spoilers here though. This couple is great together despite the fears and circumstances they must work through. It's a fun read about two people who are likeable, hard-working, and maybe even falling in love!
I received an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review. These are my own opinions and words.
Colby Smith is an up and coming goalie in the NHL. He is finally the starting goal tender for the Cleveland Sound, and everything is looking great for the new season. Now if he could only get the club photographer, Christine, to date him. Christine only has one rule, “Never date a hockey player!” This is her hard and fast rule dating back to a lot of years being exposed to the jock cockiness of her brother and his hockey playing friends! But, then there’s Colby. He seems nice and friendly without the innate cockiness! He just wants to be friends! Maybe they could be more? Read this book and find out! Another wonderful story by Kat Obie! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You will fall in love with Colby and Christine! If you like a semi forbidden romance set in the hockey world where stereotypes are broken, Chasing Love is for you. Kat Obie, not only brings you a romance that breaks down stereotypes and walls, but she brings in mental health as well as Colby Smith fights for the girl he loves while dealing with anxiety that has hampered him for years. Will love win the day or will rules and anxiety win? Read to find out how the games plays out for our goalie.
Colby, the goalie for the Sound has had a crush on Christine, the team photographer. Everyone on the team has noticed his interest, but Christine hasn't really noticed and she does not want to date a goalie. Once he finds an opening to get to know her better, they quickly become a couple, but both want to keep it quiet. She could lose the job she loves - and he might lose his too.
This book is a sexy love story between the talented, sensitive goalie and a career driven woman.
The explicit scenes and some language make this book for adult audiences, but the love story is sweet.
I received an advance reader copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.
This was a delightful romance with drama and steamy sex. I enjoyed the characters and their interaction with each other. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.
This was a cute story. I love how positive Colby is no matter how much Christine insists that she doesn't date hockey players. His persistence really pays off, and he really is sweet as he wins her over. I thought they had great chemistry together and love how adorable they are. I thought this romance was fun to read.
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest opinion.
Colby is such a good hero. He is sweet and a gentleman and loves his brother and his friends. His interaction with his teammate's kids is adorable.. His chemistry with Christine is off the charts. Christine has a hard line against dating hockey players she has all kinds of stereotypes of hockey players in her mind and in her past. She is talented a d independent and vulnerable in her own way. This 4.5 star read is sweet and fun and full.of emotion.
If you love hockey romances, you will enjoy Colby and Christine's story. This is a quick read plenty of sweet moments, great friendship and chemistry between the two main characters and plenty of steam. Colby really likes Christine but unfortunately he's a hockey player and Christine doesn't date hockey players. Now Colby has to convince Christine he's not like all the other players that just want to get in her pants. Luckily for Colby he is such a sweetheart and a gentleman that it doesn't take long for Christine to realize what a great guy he is. Working through Colby's anxiety and rumors of a trade make their relationship stronger and their love unending. I would definitely recommend reading this book.
I received this free ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.
To sum up Colby’s story, Sweet steamy love story, Sweet sensitive hockey boy. Loads of laugh-out-loud moments. If you like hockey and love romance with pure heart and laughter, you want to read this.
What drew me to Colby, the starting goalie for The Sound, was his vulnerability. He was desperately worried about his brother, as he should have been. Dez needed to be worried about. Still, it was obviously more than that.
As we find out, Colby is prone to anxiety. To a mom of a boy, a young man (getting older sucks), this hits close to home. Men’s mental health is not discussed enough in general. In the setting of professional sports where men are seen as gods of skill and grace, it is most definitely not talked about enough. It was touching to read about him bravely chasing the woman he loves while dealing with the anxiety that every new turn in a typical new relationship generates all the while dodging the obstacles his fun-loving well-meaning teammates throw in his path.
It is made worse by the fact that Christine, his hardcore crush, isn’t interested in dating hockey players, and even if he can convince her to take a chance, The Sound has rules in place that forbid co-workers from dating. He is up against it if he wants to make this work.
All of my favorite characters from the series and I love that we are still catching up with their lives despite their stories being told. It was worth the wait to learn more about Colby, and it is fitting that we get a bit more of Dez’s story along the way. The next book is due out in December. I am excited.
I received an advance review copy through Kat Obie for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a fun, romantic sports romance, that's well written with all the great feels. The author did a great job with the anxiety storyline but forewarning if this is a trigger for some. Although, the author did handle the anxiety part of the storyline in such a positive way and showed how those closest to Colby helped him. I read this as a standalone and would have liked to have seen more background into the story behind Colby's brother, Dek but I'm not sure if previous books in the series provided more insight, regardless I was craving more details to provide more background on Colby. However, overall I did enjoy the book, think the author did a great job and would definitely recommend Chasing Love! Even though I did receive an advanced review copy of this book, I also purchased the book/read with Kindle Unlimited and am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited opinion with my voluntary review.
Kat Obie continues writing amazing stories. I have not had much exposure to hockey, but I really enjoy Kat’s stories about hockey. I enjoyed “Chasing Love” as much as ``Taking A Chance.” I loved the connection the brothers had. “Taking A Chance” told an exciting contemporary romance between a goalie and the team photographer. Colby was new to his team. He enjoyed his team because he moved him closer to his brother, Dez. They are the only family left for each other. Colby notices his team's photographer. He knows she doesn’t date hockey players as a rule. He sets out to change Christine’s mind.
Christine's focus is to be the best she can be at photography. Her dream is for her pictures to be displayed in a gallery showing. Colby sets out to help when she gets the shot. Will their budding romance survive Christine’s fears?
This is Colby's big year, he is starting goalie for the Cleveland Sound. He has been crushing on the team photographer, Christine all summer. She does not want to date hockey players, so he has his work cut out for to convince her and keep his anxiety in check at the same time.
Christine loves being a photographer with the Sound and she has a gallery opening that she needs material for. She does not date players, except Colby does not seem like them, he is sweet and listens to what she says.
She eventually agrees to date him, but they have to keep it under wraps.
This book was so sweet, Colby is just such a nice guy and does not really hide anything.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Colby is the goalie for the Sounds and he has a major crush on Christine, the team photographer. Christine has made herself one promise, to NEVER date a hockey player. Colby is determined to work his way into her heart. Such a sweet and romantic book. It will make you fall in love with both of them. I can't wait to read the rest of this series. I love All the characters in this story. They are just like one big happy family.
This is the sixth story in the "Loving the Sound" series. It is a stand alone story about Christine and Colby. it is a nicely developed story that is a fairly quick read. This is supposed to be Colby's big year as starting Goalie. Christine loves her job as the hockey teams photographer. She has sworn of hockey players but when these two meet the attraction is definitely there. I love how their story develops from beginning to end.
What's not to love about the Sound? Hockey, a photographer and a goalie. The story is sweet, well written and emotional. Christine and Colby are the typical boy and girl romance, not over dramatized or out of the realm of reality. Kat Obie's books are wonderful, entertaining reads. I've read them all so far, and there isn't one that I wouldn't recommend to anyone wanting to get cozy and be entertained. The opinion expressed in this review is solely my own.
An entertaining sixth book in this series Loving the Sound. This book can be read as a standalone. The story flows well, the characters are likeable and fit well together. They have great chemistry. A fun read.
This was a good story. I liked the characters and the storyline. I however feel that it takes away from the story when it is written in dual point of view but in the third person.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I absolutely loved Chasing Love! Kat Obie has written a sweet love story which explores Colby and Christine. It explores forbidden love and men's mental health. Highly recommended!
I really enjoyed reading Colby and Christine story. You can read the story as a stand-alone but got intrigue by the series Great surprise discovering this author for hockey romance.
This is book 6 of the series Loving the Sound. It is the first book that I read in this series and I was able to fully enjoy it without having read the previous books. This is the story of Colby Smith and Christine. I first met Colby in his brother Dez's story in the book called Taking A Chance by this author. The two brothers are close and very supportive of each other. This is Colby's year. He has finally made it to starting goaltender for the Cleveland Sound. His dreams are coming true. Until he meets Christine who is working as the game day photographer for the team. Now his dreams are changing. He wants Christine to be included in them. She doesn't have the same dream. She also doesn't date hockey players. So Colby decides to become her friend and ease her into more of a relationship. This is their story. These two have chemistry for days. This is a sweet and steamy story that I really enjoyed. It is well written and easy to read.

Loved this story! It was fun reading a different perspective of what was going on with Dez at the same time realizing that Colbey was falling in love with his own girl! Like Dez. Colley didn't pick an ease girl to love but I think I will work out well for him!
I really liked the premise of this book, but the execution wasn't all there for me :/
The story starts at an awkward point in time, where the MMC has already established that he has a crush on the FMC, which is usually a thought process that I like reading about. We hear a lot about past instances where the MMC has interacted with the FMC or with his friends and told them about the FMC and I feel like it would've been beneficial to the storyline to add those in.
On a more personal level, I'm also not a fan of 3rd person dual POV writing, I feel like dual POV works best in the 1st person.
Although I can tell this was supposed to be a relatively short story, the pacing felt way too rushed for the characters we were introduced to. Especially Christine, since she mentions how she would never date a hockey player in every single one of her POVs but it only takes Colby a few car door openings and helping her with her project to hook up with her. I feel like there should've at least been a moment where Christine was like "Shit, I thought this guy was being friendly and he was different from other hockey players, but turns out he was only trying to sleep with me like every other one!", but sadly we didn't get that.
Overall great premise with lots of potential, but not the best execution. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book!
DNF. I’ve genuinely read Wattpad fan fiction from 2012 with better writing. If I hadn’t gotten this for free I’d be pissed. Editing, spelling, and redundancy mistakes galore. The MFC says she swears off hockey players but MMC talks to her once, gets drunk, confesses feelings, and she’s like ok nvm let’s hookup?
I’ve never DNFed a book bc at the end of the day spice is not a work of art but holy **** this was too bad to read. No spice either may as well have faded to black 😤
