USA Today bestselling author Jennifer L. Hart writes about characters that cuss, get naked, and often make poor but hilarious life choices. A native New Yorker, Jenn now lives in the mountains of North Carolina with her imaginary friends. Her works to date include the Cougars and Cauldrons series, the Silver Sisters series and the upcoming Legcay Witches of Shadow Cove.
I hate writing book 3 in a series. By book 3 there is so much to keep straight. Crap that I invented and then promply forgot like I was studying for a final and did a big, fat info dump after taking the test. I spend more time researching my own work that actually writing.
Except for this one. Sibby and Sebastian were meant to be with shared pain and pleasure. They were pure inspiration. These sisters really are magic.
This is why I don't do serials. After all of the convoluted fae rules, throw away characters, and complicated "adventures", this is Shioban and Sebastian's happy ending? I don't like Alys at all any more, she's a controlling, judgemental bitch to everyone, including her sisters; Maeve is nice enough, but completely underwhelming. Sebastian is now coming across as weak. We're still being introduced to new characters, presumably for future books of their own. We have an epilogue that should just be a chapter since it takes place immediately, and then we once again get a teaser for another book about a weak, middle aged woman and the loser man in her life who treats her terribly. It would be great if this series made me think that she would come into her own, but these women only sometimes a very little bit seem to actually do that. No more for me.
While the story by Jennifer Hart is good, with an excellent built supernatural world, with its rules and magic, what was difficult to get through was the performance, stilted, with sometimes voices not changing between characters by mistake. It can happen, but the narrator should have corrected that and re-recorded.
I know which way to go and that is by getting this book. I loved it and would really recommend you get the rest of the books in the series. Especially are the books focuses primarily on one sister as she finds her happy ever after. That makes it sound like a romance story and in a way it is (especially with the sex scene chapter that you get warned about and can skip) but it's oh so much more. This is the third book and it's the turn of Siobhan the youngest sister. We already know who her man/fae is going to be from the previous books but in this book we learn a lot more about them both and why they act the way they do. Don't worry her sisters and there guys are there to lend a hand as the day in front of the magic counsel has a arrived but like everything in the Silver sisters world nothing ever goes to plan or is simple, which is why I love this series. The sisters are great characters and despite being witches they are Very real people, with every day worries, fears, emotions and problems. The author isn't afraid to tackle sensitive situations either and it is done with care and understanding, in book two it was a chronic illness and in this book the subject of assault, there is nothing graphic or traumatic as it happened in the past. I read the book and this is my second time adventuring with the sisters as an audio book and it is just as good.
Siobhan was betrayed by the man she loved and she and her sisters want nothing to do with him, even though he saved there lives and is hunted just as bad as they are. Unfortunately that doesn't stop her traveling to him in her sleep, leaving behind a trail of magic that the magic hunters can follow. Just days before they go in front of the council magic hunters pick up the lead. Can the sisters stay alive long enough to be accepted into the magic community? For Siobhan she will have to face her past in the hopes of a future. Especially with the man she loves, can she forgive him and more importantly for there survival herself? I like the narrator. She puts the listener under her spell making it impossible to stop listening. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed this final book in the female centered tale of the three sisters, Alys, Maeve and Sibby. The sisters were orphaned young and raised by their eccentric hippie aunt and they’ve recently discovered they have magical powers. Now they are contending with powers they do not know how to use well along with the rest of their everyday problems. This story picks up where the last one ended. The sisters are still dodging magic hunters until they can petition to be fully sanctioned on Beltane. This book focuses on the youngest witch sister, Siobhan, and the fae changeling, Sebastian, who were in the other two books. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - fighting, dangerous situations, paranormal creatures, evil masterminds, henchmen, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, plot twists, mystical coincidences, snark, and laughs. It also includes witty dialogue, characters with depth, and an engaging storyline. Expect to laugh, to cry, to grit your teeth, to cringe, to shout, and to root for the sisters to harness their powers, find love, clean up some life messes, and defeat the bad guys. This is book three in a trilogy and to get the full story you need to read the books in order. 4.5 stars. I am sorry to see the series end because I have loved hanging out with the Silver sisters but I am happy to hear a prequel is being released.
My sister and I listened to the first three books in this series on a long road trip. I liked the sibling dynamics and the fact that they were older than most new magical users. I'm in my 50s and navigating chronic illness, so I could relate to the struggles of the middle sister. They had learning curves in trying to understand and control their powers. I appreciated the warning that things were about to get more explicit for those who didn't want to listen to that part. I also appreciated that these books didn't have the characters going in bed every few minutes like some books. There was also plenty of romance without big sections of explicit sex.
This book gave us more insights on both Sibby and Sebastian. We learned more of their back stories and past traumas. We also learned more about the magical world and the fae. There was a visit to a past life and a bit of time travel, too. And the sisters are learning just what they are capable of with their individual gifts.
The Silver Sisters are back with Siobhan’s story. New love for Siobhan is on the horizon, but given she’s cursed, and all her lovers die, consummation with the sexy dark face, Sebastian is out of the question. Or is it? All she has to do to end her curse is find the person who cursed her in the first place. Easy enough, right?
Not so much. This thrill-a-minute magical adventure travels through time and space to locate and end the source of Siobhan’s curse. Will Sibby and Sebastian get their happily ever after or will sinister forces destro them both?
This fast-paced story packs just the right amount of steam and the characters are plenty engaging. Highly recommended.
These books are making me ridiculously happy. I'm normally into much moodier fare but I'm starting to appreciate that I could do with a bit more light & shade in my reading habits. Jennifer Hart has a lovely light touch but sacrifices none of the intrigue or complexity for all that.
Siobhan & Sebastian are my favourite couple so far. Their path to each other has been torturous & convoluted, which makes the outcome all the sweeter & satisfying. Plus, her personality is probably the closest to my own & once we identify with a character it means that we're just that bit more invested in their story, going forward.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. The story is about Sibby and her struggles with being a witch and her previous troubles with men. All three sisters from the previous books play a part in her discovery and this story also goes through the trials they deal with being accepted as witches in the magical community. Loved that her man had so many elements to him from being evil to being on the side of good all because of his love for his woman. Liked that the author delved into both of these characters pasts as they were at times complex and traumatising. Looking forward to reading / listening to more of the Silver sisters books.
I received a free copy and this is my honest review.
The author may not like writing the third book in a series, trying to keep everything together but she did a fantastic job doing it!
I loved the characters, the tribulations, the good and evil perspective. I pretty much enjoyed it all. It was magickal and not always easy expectional for woman who have lived life and no longer a maiden. I won't go into the pro's and con's, I will say that I personally enjoyed the books and look forward to see what comes next. I received a copy of this audiobook with the promise of a honest review. This book and it's contents drew me in and I'm thrilled I got the chance to experience it.
This is the third book in the "Silver Sisters" series, and I enjoyed it a lot. Although the other Silver sisters make an appearance in this book, it focused on Siobhan's journey the most. The story was fun and entertaining. I admire the fact that the author indicated when the written scenes were going to give more explicit details about the carnal acts described in the book. I recommend this book to others who enjoy saucy paranormal romance stories. Jacqueline Rendell's narration was engaging and emotive. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily posted this review.
Witch Way Is Up, the third book in the Silver Sisters series is captivating, compelling, and complex; in other words, amazing and wonderful. Jennifer Hart's mind must be an amazing place with her ability to juggle and weave so many elements to create a tale that is so believable and fantastic at the same time. A must read for anyone who loves novels of discovery and magic, especially ones that focus on women who come into their own later in life.
I knew Sibby’s story would be the very best yet!!! And it surpassed my thoughts… I love the Silver sisters and their men. This has been Ana amazing and awesome magical journey. Sibby and Sebastian both have secrets they’d rather not share or remember but to let go of the past so they can have a future together they will both need to get over themselves!!!
I love the Silver sisters. They are strong, intelligent women who are their for each other. In this book the sisters must stay in hiding from the dark magic hunters. They have to wait until they are accepted into the Council of Magic. All the while trying to live normal lives. Siobhan is afraid Sebastian is lying and will betray them. Narrator Jacqueline Randell brings this book to life. I was captivated from beginning to end.
OMG I have truly loved this series and book 3 does not let down. The author has a unique way of creating a story full of lol humour, compassion, fantasy and sisterly love. I have enjoyed every minute of the sisters love for each other and journey into becoming middle aged witches.
I have laughed and cried with them on their adventures and journey of self discovery. For me the only negative has been waiting for each book to be released.
I adored this series! This final book in the series was full of action and magic and terror and love and disappointment, and so much more. Each twist and turn kept me intrigued. The author must love juggling, because she had so many different situations going on at the same time, but managed to do it where I never got confused, and the story was brought to a perfect ending without any questions unanswered. I only follow 2 authors, but I just added Jennifer L. Hart to my list.
Jennifer L. Hart did it again. She wrote a book that kept me engaged. This was Sebastian and Sibby's story. I love how thebpast present and future worked together. Sibby is a perfect blend of strong and vulnerable as is Sebastian. They work together to beat his brother. I love how Sibby can tell the difference between Sebastian and Cedric even when nobody else can. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.
Siobhan wants love, like any other women. What to do when every romantic relationship ends with your partner’s death? Well, Siobhan takes matters into her own hands to find out what or who caused this. She finds out she has been cursed, by…. cannot say, you’ll need to read to find out. Overall, this is a really good story, which I enjoyed. I like the underlying humor in the writing. I received a free copy of the audiobook, and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Jennifer Hart does not disappoint. This third book in the Silver Sisters group is a strong read. While I’m loving the way the story unfolds, sometimes I find myself rereading pages, as the plot can get a little convoluted. Regardless, the bond between the sisters and the developing romances are very entertaining. Can’t wait to read book number 4!
Witch Way is Up: Paranormal Women's Fiction Romance Jennifer L. Hart This is book three in the series. I really enjoy the many characters and the connections they have which each other. Great world building and character development too. It's a romance without being slutty. Great plot with fae, werewolves, and more. This even has time travel in it.
The characters are becoming more endearing with each book and although there are a few hot steamy parts, the story flows well. The plot is convoluted, but as we know, all great books have convoluted plots. The premise is fixing Sioban's curse, and getting accepted by the Witch's Coven. I definitely recommend this book.
Jennifer L. Hart's storyline ideas are so creative. This was a very good story about Siobhan and why she has led her life the way she has. Now she has fallen in love and it could literally be the death of Magic Hunter Sebastian. Her sisters Alys and Maeve help her try to discover a way to reverse her curse. So excited to continue the series!!
This is a great series. I really enjoy the sisters and all their friends. This book ended nicely too with a good little bundle at the end. I really enjoy this series. I can't wait to listen to the next book since this was an audiobook for me. I enjoy the narration as well. Thought I think I read it a bit out of order....lol I will go back to book two.
Those three sisterwitches have some serious magick going on between them, for newbies. Loved all the plotting, enacting, and results they accomplished in spite of the evil fae. Loved it and hope for more.
Ms. Hart is now in my top 5 with this series! The Silver sisters have it all: spunk, power, love, determination, and big hearts. Each book so far has had one sister as the primary focus, so I can't wait to see what magic Ms. Hart pens in the next installment.
This book seems the most adventurous of the Silver sisters series, probably because Siobhan is more edgy than her siblings. I thought the last book was my favorite but I'm vacillating now. Sebastian and Siobhan are great together. I enjoyed how the sisters protected her but allowed her to soar.
Oh my gosh, I just finished reading all three books in this series In the space of a week and wishing there were more to come. The stories are well told and you're pulled in like you are actually there with the Silver sisters.
These books keep me reading late into the night. I don’t want to put it down before finding out how the story ends. Love all the characters and how they evolve in each story. Can’t wait to read the next one.
