Jafari’s little rabbit might try to run, but he’s going to catch her. No matter what.
Kacy's past is dark and twisted, and it's coming back to haunt her. But she's not alone this time.
Dominant and possessive, Jafari isn't going to let his favorite masochist run away again. He'll keep her tied up and begging for him while he slays her dragons, even if she insists she's no damsel in distress.
They may have met during Black Light's Valentine Roulette, but this isn't a game, and there are lives and hearts on the line.
And Kacy's past isn't the only one that could tear them apart.
Will their desire for each other be enough to overcome their old tragedies and new fears, or will they give in to the darkness?
USA Today bestselling author Raisa Greywood loves to write stories that make her readers wonder if they should laugh or cry. Or even better, do both at the same time! She takes special delight in turning traditional romance tropes upside down and shaking them until something fun falls out.
Raisa lives in the midwestern United States with two cats who share one brain cell, and her husband, who taught her how to write great enemies to lovers stories over thirty years ago, and who still brings her flowers.
After reading Raisa’s story Pierced in Black Light Rematch,i was hoping the journey Kacy and Jafari were going on would have a good result. Hoping Raisa gave them both a beautiful future. One where Kacy got custody of her little niece,Macie. And one where Jafari was the man to stand by her side…..forever. Thanks to Raisa’s generosity,i had the chance to find out if Kacy and Jafari got what they both needed!
Kacy may feel bad about taking money from Jafari, but she has no other choice. Not if she wants to get back to Boone Ridge,Kentucky in time to prevent her uncle from taking her little cousin Macie home. Because uncle Gerald can’t be trusted around little girls….. Only Jafari throws all of her plans out of the window by stopping her from leaving Black Light alone. He insists on going with her,but why? Confessing her history as well as her livingarrangements (as in living in her car) doesn’t stop the infuriating man. He insists on helping her as much as possible, and as long as she needs him. But she’s sure that once the problems are solved, and he returns to California,he’ll soon forget about her. Because she’s not good enough, and why would he want to be involved with her ánd her cousin???
Jafari is hurt that his little rabbit tried to run and face her problems alone, instead of asking for help. Hearing her background makes him understand her reasoning, but he’ll be damned if he’s going to allow her facing everything alone. With every passing mile,he sees another layer to his little rabbit, and he likes what he finds. He likes torturing her too,and not only as a way to keep her mind of her problems….. But with his own history,he’s not so sure he’ll be the man for her…..
These two had a lot of talking to do,that’s for sure! What they thought they were, wasn’t who they were, and they both needed help in seeing the truth, badly! To add to the mix,Macie adopted Jafari from the moment they met,and she was a force to be reckoned with…. I loved that little girl, she was so sweet!
So….did they work things out? Did they see the light? Find a way to be together? With Macie? And her animals? Find out in this beautiful story!
I loved this couple in Roulette and I am so happy and thrilled with their story and where they ended up! Kacy and Jafari have met previously, but the little rabbit always runs away from the big wolf. After Roulette Kacy gets some unexpected news and decides to run again, but Jafari uses his advantage to grab her and assist her with her problems. Kacy has secrets though, but so does Jafari, and they both are hesitant to reveal them. Black Light Saved was exceptional and Raisa Greywood did this couple a beautiful and spectacular justice with their story.
This continues immediately after the ending of "Pierced," Ms. Greywood's entry in Black Light: Roulette Rematch. Because of this (and the fact that the MC apparently met before "Pierced"), I'm not sure that this quasi-embedded narrative works as a stand-alone.
Here, we get down-on-her-luck Kacy, who rushes back to her home state of Kentucky to collect her orphaned cousin. When her Black Light Roulette play partner, wealthy vineyard owner, Jafari, insists on accompanying her, both find themselves facing some hard truths about their pasts. Will they break the couple apart or bring them closer together?
If you're looking for consensual erotica underpinned by a substantial storyline featuring likeable characters, natural-sounding dialogue, and well-described kink scenes, you'll probably enjoy this dual point-of-view story. I certainly did. As another reviewer wisely noted: the journey the two take is both physical and metaphorical, and neither is quite the same person at the end of it. Given my own preferences, I particularly appreciated that Kacy was strong and that Jafari appreciated it; that Jafari was a POC whose ethnicity was neither ignored nor fetishsized (as so often happens in these books); and that the world-building was fairly detailed (the author takes her time describing Kentucky's topography and milieu throughout). In addition, as others have mentioned, the secondary characters were strong and enriched the MC's burgeoning relationship; I hope we see more of Macie one day. Finally, the prose was well-edited -- a relief after the string of typo-ridden books I've read lately.
If the characters were five stars, however, the actual plot was a three: it really needed pruning. The beginning in particular was extraordinarily slow; we're given many backstory details that go nowhere (I don't see the point of devoting so much page space to Kacy's mother since we never see her; she has no effect on Kacy's current life; and Kacy had enough to overcome without her); and Jafari and Kacy's will-s/he-stay-or-will-s/he-go got old after a while: I lost track of how many times each thought the other was leaving. Finally, you have to suspend a lot of disbelief regarding Jafari's relationship with his mother.
4 stars. I do want to advise readers that Kacy is a hard-core masochist; thus, for me personally, the kinks got a bit much. But, I enjoyed the strength in the sub and the vulnerability in the dom -- characteristics not often seen in this genre. And I was beyond grateful that this story had much less angst than the exaggerated melodrama featured in the last several books, which is not to my taste.
I do totally love all of the Black Light books and I have bought all of them. This book is not an exception and I love the characters in this book. I started the book a few hours ago and I read it right away. There is a really terrific HEA as well. I can not recommend this book strongly enough. If you like BDSM, you will like this book.
4.3 stars. First let me just say, if you plan to read this book it’s probably best to read the Valentines Roulette beforehand so you aren’t having to piece things together like I did. It’s not impossible or all that hard even to make sense of everything. But it would’ve been much easier for me. In fact I’m so curious about it I think I’ll be reading it next.
Besides the rough start for me-which I wasn’t expecting since the other books in the series I’ve read weren’t so attached to the anthology it corresponded to-I had a really enjoyable time reading this. It also helped figuring out that Jafari is foreign and English isn’t his first language. I was thinking at the beginning that the dialogue was a bit off and then I found that out and it all clicked. Probably another thing I would’ve known if I’d actually read the beginning of their story.
The plot of this was interesting and sort of heartbreaking, but it just enhanced everything for me.
The sex and dynamic was great. Kacy is a true masochist, a pain slut. And Jafari is perfect for her as a very creative and intense sadist.
But he’s still gentlemanly and sweet as sin to her too. It’s a very intoxicating duality.
I’m glad I picked this up. I had a damn good time reading it. Now I just have to hit rewind and go read the beginning, since I’ve now finished the middle and ending.
I have been CRAVING this book since we first got Kacy and Jafari's Roulette night in BL: Pierced. That book spoke to me and I knew I wanted more. Well I was not disappointed. BL: Saved had me laughing at Macie's antics, squirming at the D/s scenes and crying like a baby at a couple of key scenes. I won't give away any spoilers, but Raisa was able to take this once short story and turn it into a full fledged novel that made me wish I hadn't rushed through the first reading. I will be re-reading both stories again tomorrow. But going to bed tonight with a smile on my face knowing it was well worth the wait for this amazing story.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
I really liked Kacy and Jafari, but I have to admit that the frustrated tf out of me a couple of times. They didn't talk to each other about things like, oh, how they felt, which means that they ended up hurting each other and themselves. Instead, they just kept quiet, assumed they knew what the other wanted and needed, and hid all their secrets. Like I said, very frustrating.
But, all that aside, I think that Kacy is strong, caring, and protective. She's willing to do what she needs in order to take care of her cousin, and will probably go to war over it. Jafari, for all that he's a sadist, is truly a gentle man, unless he gets really riled. He is thoughtful, caring, and protective. I think that they are lovely together.
When I read the last Black Light Roulette anthology, Raisa Greywood's story, Pierced, was on that stood out in my mind. The way it ended, you know there was more going on. I'm so happy that Ms. Greywood wrote Jafari and Kacy's full story. Both have secrets in their past and how it will affect their future depends on what happens when they get to where Kacy is from. This story had all the feels and all the dynamics I expect for a Black Light story. Ms. Greywood knows just how to pull her readers in and keep them invested. Beautifully written and easy to follow, this story will make your heart sing with happiness!!!
We first meet Jafari & Kacy in the Black Light: Roulette Rematch anthology, and it does feel like you’re missing a bit if you haven’t read it first because this story continues on from that night. We already know that the past six months has been rough for Kacy. When she receives some news from the place she grew up, Kacy is mobilised into action to save her cousin Macie. Jafari knows his little rabbit is a runner—he intercepts her and volunteers his time & resources to assist. I felt like there was so much going on in this story that it detracted from Kacy & Jafari. They forged a relationship in an intensely emotional crisis period & I would have loved to have seen them outside of that pressure. Given that he is a Dom and a sadist, and Kacy is a sub who is a masochist, I expected better communication between them outside the kink scenes, but both these characters need to resolve their pasts to move forward together. I love that Jafari shows the kind of compassion that leaves Kacy’s dignity intact. Jafari is kind, generous, and a gentleman. Kacy is loving, protective, and resourceful. I enjoyed the cultural aspects of both characters, the sense of family in their lives. A lovely addition to the series.
I received a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.
This story follows on from the short in the Valentines Roulette anthology - there is no recap of what has happened at the beginning so you really need to read the other first, although you would be able to muddle through.
I enjoyed the read, although I found the start to be a little rough in terms of setting the scene and remembering all what had happened previously. This is a story of a sadist and masochist, both with their own demons from the past to deal with. I found the characters a bit frustrating in the beginning but warmed up to them as I read on. The book illustrates the importance of communication or consequences of the lack of it. There are some inventive scenes when Jafari is without his play bag which are enjoyable to read even if it’s not your flavour of ice cream so to speak. Safe play is emphasised too which is great. Will the two stubborn characters be able to navigate their way to a happy ending? Read on to find out.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.
I loved this book, although BDSM is not the main character in the story.
Jafari and Kacy met in a Black Light roulette event, but now they are taking it further. But then Kacy gets a phone call that has her trying to sneak out and head for Kentucky to sort out a family problem. Jafari doesn't intend to let Kacy vanish on him, and he ends up taking her to Kentucky and helping her solve her family problems.
A delightful story.

Yeah, Jafari and Kacy were one of my all-time favorite couples in the Valentine's Day Roulette and I was thrilled to see this new story about them. Even if you've for some reason never read a Black Light book, you can start with this one. I promise, once you do you'll want to read all of them. And Raisa Greywood? She put so much heart, soul, emotion, and of course this couple's favorite kinks into this story it just took my breath away at times. The roulette wheel works it's magic once again pairing this perfect sadist and masochist

This is well written and I enjoyed most of it though I found it somewhat odd that a man who had become well educated and rich would still believe that he was responsible for something that happened when he was very young. He could easily have asked his parents for clarification. The woman’s troubled childhood was easier to comprehend and its lasting effects believable. This story would be best read after the one about the couple in a Black Light Roulette novel though I hadn’t read that story and had no problem following this story. Some of the practices were very intense and I believe a warning that the inexperienced should not try them is warranted. That is the reason I kept to four stars. However I did enjoy it and would recommend it with the warning that there are scenes that might upset or trigger some people.
Black Light: Saved by Raisa Greywood is the latest in the Black Light series, and I’ve been SO excited for this book since the last Roulette instalment way back in February.
Kacy & Jafari were matched by the wheel and their chemistry was explosive from the start. Although, a vagueness around some hard limits cause an almost immediate issue.
The story picks up the morning after roulette where, having spent the night together, Kacy tries to leave while Jafari is still asleep. The way their relationship progresses is completely unexpected and simultaneously hot as hell. The personal growth from both of them, spurred from a scene Jafari orchestrated, rounds the story out and gives a whole extra level to it all.
This was an absolute journey. It was amazing. I will definitely be reading it again in a month or so just so I can enjoy it again.
This story continues the short story from the latest roulette competition. I appreciated the maturity of these characters and how they so willingly accepted each other and once they knew what was going on with the other person. I was torn between frustration that they refused to communicate such important personal information to each other because this type of relationship requires open communication, but also understanding that the author was probably trying to portray that importance and the character's growth through their secrets. The ending did feel a little too tidy. Maybe as bit ubrupt. It was one of the many stories where you want to yell at the characters to just communicate already! But of course then there wouldn't be such an interesting story to tell.
We first met Jafari and Kacy in BL Roulette Rematch anthology Pierced and with that story the heat level was of the charts…so when at the end of the night Kacy sneaks away after receiving an unexpected phone call and Jafari wasn’t about to let his little rabbit get away.. I loved that Jafari was the rock Kacy needed with a family tragedy but secrets on both side threatens their future together.. This book has all the emotional feels and steamy scenes that are worthy of being part of the BL world…absolutely loved this book and would give more stars if I could…
Jafari wants Kacy to live out her truth but he isn't living his own. Together they discover how to see themselves how others see them. Raisa has written a story that is a mix of steamy scenes and character growth. The storyline kept me interested and I was impressed with how she mixed in drama in a way that seemed realistic for the characters.
This story picks up where the roulette story ended. If you did not read the roulette anthology, you can still read this one without any issues. This story ends with a HEA.
Another awesome addition to the Black Light series--but also great as a stand alone read! Jafari and Kacy meet at the roulette wheel and hit it off. But both of them have secrets or things that haunt them and make them think they don't deserve/can't have happiness. There is a lot of of emotions in this book, it will pull you in to where you have to find out what happens! highly recommend!
I was provided an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
All it took was the spin of the Roulette wheel, that's how Kacy and Jafari met and it was the telephone call that changed everything in an instant. How dominant and tender was Jafari, I was near to tears the way he just took over and helped Kacy in her panic, a beautiful read about a beautiful couple. I voluntarily reviewed this book
It is amazing to read a story with an alpha male that does not hesitate to help the woman he loves. This story is filled with heart felt feelings with a little kick. I would love to have a night at the Black Light.
These stories just keep getting better and better. I know there are many authors but one out does he next, and I can’t wait for the next installment. Fantastic read.
As a huge lover of the Black Light series, I couldn’t wait to read Jafari and Kacy’s story! These two characters have worked their way into my heart. They both come from vastly different backgrounds but completely belong together. They met at Roulette and the attraction was instantaneous! These two have such sizzling chemistry that your fingers will burn as you turn the pages.
Kacy has had an extremely rough upbringing and it’s hard for her to trust or believe in people. So when she meets Jafari, she isn’t sure what to make of this man who while a sadist, is also kind and a gentleman. He also has had sadness in his past which makes it difficult for him to want a relationship, but with Kacy’s endearing personality and the fact she is masochist makes them the perfect couple.
This story far exceeded my expectations and I loved everything about it. The emotions I felt were vast and I rooted for them throughout the entire story. If you are a lover of Black Light then you will love this latest addition to the series!
Black Light Saved was everything I’ve come to expect from Ms. Greywood and more and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it all. If you read this year’s Black Light Roulette, then you already had the chance to meet Jafari and Kacy and hopefully, was as enamored of them as I was. But this…their…journey together to the bowels of Kentucky was everything I wanted in their story but didn’t know it. Kacy and Jafari are perfect for each other in every way. Add in a rambunctious little girl into the mix and even the most stalwart sadists might find their resolve melting in the wake of a little girl clutching a stuffed monkey. This story is all the good things in a Black Light story that I’ve come to love and while I should no longer be surprised at Ms. Greywood’s storytelling, she’s done it again and I loved it.
We first met Jafari and Kacey in Black Light Roulette Rematch where after a wild and passionate night Kacy gets a phone call and sneaks out. I was very happy to found out that Raise Greywood would be writing a full length story of this couple
Sneaking out from a Dom is never a good idea and Jafari isn’t planning on letting his little rabbit get away with it. Jafari and Kacy are perfect for eachother, but secrets in a relationship never work well. Communication is the key, but that is easier said than done with two stubborn people. I wanted to smack both of them on the head multiple times. I loved how creative Jafari was with Kacy without the help of his play bag.
It is a book filled with emotion, soul searching and getting rid of ghosts of the past.
I have been wanting more of Kacy and Jafari ever since I read their story in Black Light: Roulette Rematch and it was so worth the wait. To start, the chemistry and connection between these two is an irresistible blend of hot, sweet and powerful. They each have their own issues and baggage and I always love that. I believe it just makes for deeper, more intense reading. The story quickly enveloped me and had me putting off everything I could just to keep reading. Things get steamy but this book adds a whole lot of heart into the mix as well. By my own accord I am posting a forthright review.
I enjoyed Kacy and Jafari in Roulette but fell in love with the pair of them in this book! This was such a kinky, caring and heart warming read. The heat level created by this pair nearly fried my kindles circuits.... or was that me over healing lol! Loved, loved LOVED it! Highly revommended.

Do you remember Kacy and Jafari, that extreme Sadist and his perfect match, the Roulette wheel paired at Black Light's Valentine bash? Someday I'll have to find out how that wheel works because here we have another pair that is just right for each other. They read each other perfectly and make the air around them combust when scening but still, their past lives intrude and steer them wrong. At first! But as Emma says, the wheel always gets it right! There's magic at work I'm sure, and Ms Greywood put it in words!
Wow! What an amazing read. So many lawyers to this story. Trust, learning to ask for and accept help, finding your purpose, love and as always in a BL book kink. So many kinks in this story. A wonderful addition to the BL series.

Saved on so many levels
Wow! What an amazing read. So many layers to this story. Trust, learning to ask for and accept help, finding your purpose, love and as always in a BL book kink. So many kinks in this story. A wonderful addition to the BL series.
The compelling complexity of the plot is what initially drew my attention, but it was the compassion and heat that held my interest. Oh boy!! you will need a fire hydrant to put out the flames as you take the journey along with Kacy and Jafai. What a perfect match, a blend of hot and hotter as they fought their way through the maze that was complicated by the burden they both carried.
I thoughly enjoyed Kacy and Jafai story with all its ups and down. Add in a touch of humor, and the author has a winner. The chemistry sizzled. but it was the heart and soul that captured my heart. .
Excellent addition to the special world of Black Light. These books never disappoint and this was no exception. Full of feels and steam. Great characters and a wonderful plot. Jafari and Kacy were favorites in the last roulette book and I was so happy to see them in their own book. Raisa Graywood does a masterful job with the story and I couldn’t put it down. Not enough stars for this one. Definitely recommend.
