Even an invincible ninja may not be able to survive Hell’s Paradise!
Gabimaru is a ninja on death row with one chance to see his wife again—by finding the elixir of immortality on a supernatural island and delivering it to the shogun. Standing in his way are his fellow convicts and the fearsome beasts that roam the island, devouring or killing anyone they encounter.
Rien’s master plan spells disaster for not only everyone on the island, but everyone on the mainland as well! A mission that began with a search for immortality may end with widespread death and destruction unless the survivors on the island can somehow vanquish what remains of Lord Tensen. Gabimaru will do anything to return to his wife in the conclusion of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku!
absolutely love this ending and how everything wraps up. even with all the gore and violence, i love how ultimately, this is a hopeful and emotional story about the unlikeliest of bonds that can be formed amidst dire circumstances.
incredible action, fascinating magic system, memorable characters with great development - this might be one of my all time favorite shounen series ever.
Really loved the ending and especially the final chapter. I'm really pleased with the endings of the characters for the most part. I'm sad a couple of my faves didn't make it to the end but it's nice to see their legacies live on.
I really, REALLY don't want to say anything about this volume due to spoilers, but I will say this: this volume felt like Yuji Kaku was slugging me in the stomach with a metal bat with "feels" written on it every other chapter. Take with that as you will.
So, final thoughts on this series; this was a really solid and surprisingly emotional shounen series. The lore was fascinating and well-explained, the action was intense, fluid, and fun, the characters were great, and the monster designs were INCREDIBLE. I had a fuck-ton of fun reading and devoured every volume despite the admittedly dense exposition scenes. I fell in love with almost everyone and especially for our merry band of misfits and convicts. The art was stellar, especially (again) with the monster designs, but the character designs were great as well. The setting and atmosphere were strong and enhanced the dread and desperation our crew felt trying to complete their mission(s). The only criticism I will level is that something happened toward the end that I didn't like because I feel like it ruined an heartbreaking emotional moment, but it wasn't enough to spoil the ending so I'm not too upset.
In short, this was a phenomenal series that I had a lot of fun reading. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quick, action-packed and emotional shounen read.
this is literally the first time in a decade that my adhd ass has managed to finish reading a manga series longer than like 3 volumes. i would like to thank the academy and my parents and
When I remember how much I struggled with this manga before I laugh tbh; I was so uncomfortable with all the details that I couldn’t keep up with and it made me leave the manga for a while until I got myself to continue and I really was not disappointed. This manga has its unique characters; paradoxes that make your head turn, cool fights and dialogue as well as monologues, bad ass villains, amazing art style and so much more
This volume was so so good; every moment of it was just done well, how the author made us lose a bit of hope and then just ride over it again, how he made us all fidgety and wary about what will come out of this who will survive ? Who will die ? How all this going to end ? Because every time you draw a path to follow it gets crashed down.
The characters were portrayed so good, the connections between them were made well along the way, never forced and always unique in nature. Like you’d never expect who would sacrifice their life to whom of whom would throw it all behind for someone who they may not even call as comrade.
How us human are both strong and weak. How that one does not exist without the other. How that we write our destiny; the ways that we cross and our path.
I loved this manga so much, it was perfect and the ending was just PERFECT well made; I swear to god good for me that I stumbled upon this one. Couldn’t find better and truly just truly this author is amazing.
I’d say more but then I’ll have to add it under spoilers and I really wish people would see my comment and go on and read this amazing manga, so please do recommend it to your friends ❤️
What a nice 13 volume long series! The story was original and consistent in action. Characters were dull at first glance but they soon grew on me. The ending was satisfactory too.
We've arrived at the expected conclusion! Everyone left standing wailing on the big bad. Expected swings of momentum, all hope seems lost. At the end of the day, it really is about the power of love huh? Going out strong.
He tardado mucho.
I was actually surprised more people didn't die. I guess I was expecting it, so when it didn't happen I was taken aback. Also surprised how the ending wrapped up a bit too quickly. Saying that, I loved the villain's motivation, the art is gorgeous, and the people I did enjoy actually got mostly a happy ending here.
So sometimes it's okay to be happy. A 3.5 out of 5, bump it to a 4.
Hell’s paradise was a riddle journey. Especially because I wasn’t that interested in a good chunk of it, like the lore, villains, the twists and explanations. However, these last chapters really brought me joy. Joy to see this characters, who I felt in love as the story progressed, getting a happy ending despite everything. So...yeah, it wasn’t a perfect story, but the end paid off.
this series was honestly a masterpiece. the ending had me sobbing and grinning all at the same time. i love my found family of convicts and executioners with my whole heart <33
Had some great moments but all in all more on the mediocre side of battle shonen. Loved the ending of the penultimate chapter. The last chapter was unnecessary in my opinion. And i think bro used this book as an excuse to draw tits.
the first manga i’ve ever finished! i am very proud of myself and delighted that the first manga i’ve ever finished is groundbreaking and deliciously told. that was such an intense, amazing adventure that i could not predict. i loved how everything tied together, and even though there were a ton of deaths, there was still a lot of rebirths and i am not complaining about that.
”Do those without doubt even exist? And if they do, does that lack translate to strength?”
it was so endearing to see the relationships that grew and the development that took place and so happy to see any love triangles and that gabimaru (who is no longer gabimaru!) is content and living peacefully with his wife!!! what a great ending. the action scenes were so cool and it’s going to be so incredibly jaw-dropping to see it animated. one of my favorite stories. wow. brainrot.
i loved the theme of weakness being a source of strength that was rightfully fitted throughout the major points in the plot, and what ultimately led to their victory. excellently executed. that lesson resonated with me, and i’m happy that gabimaru was the one who saved the day not through his ruthless, dominating strength but through his weakness: his love for yui.
there were so many brilliant, heart-wrenching moments that stuck with me, but it’s too much to name and that’s for me alone. ”that would be tacky, right?”
This has been a great ride. I enjoyed myself so much, especially in these last 4-5 volumes. I didn't expect to be saying this back in the early volumes, but this series biggest strength is it's cast. By the end I was in love with every character, protagonist and antagonist alike. This volume in particular made that resonate with how it ends. In classic "this is where everyone is in the future" flash forward, we get to see the outcome of everyone's lives and what they make of them. One of the most satisfying endings to a manga. I'm excited to relive all these emotions when the anime starts coming out!
The best thing to say about this series was that it was consistent in every way and it never disappointed me in any way. It was a great ride. I will recommend this series to any one who wants to read the manga. I can't wait to watch the anime adaptation that just started airing recently too. I hope it will do the manga justice.
Truly a beautiful story and writing 5/5,I read it during my hard times and the ending for some of my favorite characters was perfect, truly bad for some of them, can’t wait to reread it again some time in the future.
