A collection of cliffhangers
I debated giving this 2 or 3 stars. The writing was good but almost every story is a cliffhanger. Not only that, but the cliffhangers are expensive and don't end soon. The first book has five books in the series and still aren't done. Each one is $6.99. I'm upset that rather than introductions to authors, I was held captive and forced to buy multiple expensive books if I wanted to get an ending. I don't usually spend that much on books and expecting someone to pay $6.99 each for four books and still not get an ending is unreasonable. This collection left me unsatisfied.

For the most point, this boxset was a good way to try some new -t0-me authors. It still being free, I'm definitely recommending.

Rebel by Helen Hardt- DNFed too soon to even rate. The writing style didn't work for me.
Twist Me by Anna Zaires- 4 kidnapped by sexy dangerous criminal, dark erotic stars.
Mine by Natasha Knight & A. Zavarelli- 3 ends in cliffhanger mafia romance stars
Ruthless Surrender by Zoe Blake- DNFed. I just didn't like this at all.
The Mistwalker by Regine Abel- DNF. I wasn't into the paranormal aspect. I only got about 2 pages in, so didn't rate.
Darkest King by Amelia Hutchins- This one is hard because the story included in this boxset felt like a sample. It had enough to get me interested. I ended up reading the linked and loved it. The stories aren't remotely related.
Captive Vow by Alta Hensley- 1 hell-to-the-no-dark-erotica-hard-limit-hit star.
Hard Code by Misha Bell- skipped without prejudice. The blurb screams wacky hijinks ensue, and I don't read those type of books.
Flame to Frost by Myra Danvers- 2 fantasy alien stars.
I don't read a lot of alien books, so don't let my "meh" stop you from giving it a go.
For the most point, this boxset was a good way to try some new -t0-me authors. It still being free, I'm definitely recommending.

So 50% of the stories, FMC has been raped previously or is currently being raped by the MMC, except for Helen Hardt, Misha Bell and Myra Danvers stories. Amelia Hutchins story is only 6 chapters long, just an opener/teaser, dubcon. Quite disappointed some of my favorite authors have books in this anthology, no trigger warnings for rape, or child rape.

I don't know why I prefer to read anthologies at this time of year but I do. Maybe I like to end the year disappointed? Decades of therapy and I don't have an answer to this question.
Back to this anthology. Book 1 - DNF, who the F would think this is a good read? Ongoing rape, check. Captivity, check. Female lead vaginally penetrated by male leads wife against her will to check if she's pregnant, check. Me opting out ASAP, check. Horrible horrible horrible.
Book 2 - over 50 chapters...chapter 6 and I'm marking as a DNF. Get an editor, FFS. Update: skipped through, reading a paragraph here and there then hit the end and surprise! Ends on a cliffhanger. Over 50 chapters and the author decided to stick it to the reader by forcing them to continue the series if they want the answer to the mystery and the whole plot. Nope.
I may read a paragraph here and there throughout this but I'm so ticked off by the first two that I might not. I'll likely delete this whole anthology off my Kindle because these kinds of anthologies scream "authors who hate their readers!" to me.

Cliffhangers and Hard No's 🧐
The first two stories were hard no's for me! Just reading the prelude left me know they weren't for me. Then Ms. Hardt's story ends in a cliffhanger. Perusing through the rest of the stories I noticed several said "book 1". So those too will have cliffhangers and my time is too valuable to endure those. Sadly, because of this, I just don't have it in me to read the others at this time. Ms. Hardt's story overall had steamy scenes and plenty of intrigue trying to solve a murder. Rock's and Lacy's story doesn't end on a happy note and if you want to find out who done it, you have to hope it's in Roy's story. Maybe you'll enjoy it as well as the others. 🤔

Quite a read
I have most of these books in my kindle but once I read the book in here had to go back and read the follow ups in my kindle so it was a slow read to get to the end. Met a couple of new authors to me so will be looking them up because they were good. There was a book that I would not have thought I would buy but surprise it was funny and sweet and a slow burn that kept me anticipating through to the end Hard Code by Misha Bell. Mistwalker by Regine Abel will be a follow up. All the other authors are already faves but I would highly recommend this book especially if you don’t already have most in this collection.

Hellion on Wheels
I was reeled in right from the first chapter, it's that awesome. Rock is everything bad but so good. Black leather, a biker and green eyes, I am hooked. Rock returns to New York very reluctantly. The only thing that makes it worth the trip is Lacey. She is his father's lawyer and is handling his will. All Rock can think of is handling her, between the sheets.
Rock has secrets he is keeping close to his chest, for now. I look forward to finding out about these secrets.

One decent story in the entire collection
Between the forced sexual relationships and the Stockholm Syndrome, Hard Code was the one story I'd buy and read again. The first few stories had dreadful male love interests and cliffhangers. Many had truly triggering material with no warnings. One does have a warning. I was excited at the prospect of a good Omegaverse story, but it failed to be anything more than rape and Stockholm Syndrome. Kudos to the creators of Hard Code. Your story was brilliant and beautiful.

I got this anthology thinking that Amelia Hutchin’s Dark King would be complete in it… so I was disappointed to find that it was the same first 5 chapters I already read on her Facebook group!
Also, all the other stories in this anthology are all first books in series… the anthology might be free but then when I’m you start a series what are you going to do? Of course you’ll want to know what happens next… so o en send up buying 2 more books on the side to finish a story… and then decided not to read the rest of the stories in the anthology!

Just a taste
This is a wonderful collection of great stories! Several are part of a duet or series and all are top tier. I was introduced to the work of several authors I’d been wanting to read for a while, and I’m not disappointed in the least. Now I’m off to continue the most pressing cliffhangers, and I’ll be catching up with existing work and keeping an eye out for new work from all of these authors. Exceptionally well done and highly recommended!

Its primarily established writers so at least the stories are readable.
I probably missed the blurb that these are just a taste of an authors series.
Many mafia books, which are not my jam.
I'm not organized enough to ever remember which story was written by who. This type of compilation never works for me.
But, if you like mafia and you are willing to take notes about the stories you like, you might enjoy this collection.

This anthology is a total rip off!
These stories while interesting, all end in a cliffhanger. I got the anthology on Kindle Unlimited, but the continuations of all these stories are not and are spendy. Also, some of them are old. Don't waste your time on this ripoff!

The lineup of authors in this book is over the top Phenomenal! Some of my favorites and their work put together! What more could a reader ask for?!?!

Not worth reading
What I thought we're going to be short stories , stories that don't have endings. The stories leave you hanging and then lead you to a book to bye. That's not what I use My Kindle subscription.

It was an interesting collection of books some of the context of the books was not compatible with my tastes but I stuck with it many different stories which would suit different personalities maybe I need to keep a more open mind with regards to things I don’t fully understand

Every story has its own flavor
Some new authors and several familiar in this Taste 2021 anthology edition. All fabulous reads some dark, some funny and some unique. Each story is different but worthwhile. Definitely recommend

It where a lot of starting books so you could buy thé rest and the rest ends up Being expensive, it wasn't bad for me because I wasn't interested to buy and read the rest.
The most fun book was Hard Code by Misha Bell,

Some cliffhangers, some heas, some dark, one funny, some bad, one awesome, one I didn't read (because I've read it before).
'Hard Code' by Misha Bell pushed it from 2 to 3 stars.

Nothing in this omnibus deserves a review. Just a random, messy collection of poorly written and edited erotica with no cohesive themes running throughout. It was a free download for a reason.
