Live boldly in the love of Christ with Bible teacher and #1 New York Times bestselling author Joyce Meyer.
What keeps women from feeling and being their best? For years, Joyce has been helping women better identify emotional barriers and physical, mental, and spiritual obstacles in their lives. Now she provides another Confidence.
Our society has an insecurity epidemic. Women in particular compensate by pretending to be secure--a common response--which only leads to feelings of shame. Lack of self-confidence causes great difficulty in relationships of all kinds, and can even lead to divorce.
In Confidently You , Joyce explores the characteristics of a woman with confidence, which include a woman who knows she is loved, who refuses to live in fear, and who does not live by comparisons. Joyce explains that confidence stems from being positive in your actions and living honestly, but most importantly from having faith in God and in ourselves.

This is the 7th book by this author that I've read. I like her positive messages. I think that is important especially in our day and age.
Now sometimes her books resonate with me and other times....they don't. This book fell into the latter catergory for me. I liked the message but I didn't find anything new here. So 3 stars.
Confidently You is a small book that makes a big impact. No matter if you’re introverted, extroverted, talkative, or shy, you can choose to become confident. Yes, confidence is a choice. A decision. And I never thought of it that way before reading this book.
Social media is a clear example to me of how people compensate for lack of self-assurance. Many people pretend to be something they aren’t, and they compare themselves (whether internally or externally) with others. But true confidence comes from within.
Joyce Meyer is inspirational and encouraging. She provides tools to help readers escape fear, insecurity, etc. and to strive to become more confident in themselves and in God. She offers question sections after each chapter and Scripture verses that boost confidence.

Joyce Meyer (or Mama Joyce as so many I know call her) always has solid content….but her books have such a dry delivery. Great nuggets of wisdom. But I much prefer listening to her than reading her. Alas, this book is on finding confidence…not in who YOU are, but who GOD is. That is what makes us truly confident. It was different than I expected but in a good way.
Thank you netgalley for a review copy of this book. My opinions are my own.
In Confidently You, Joyce Meyer has decided to take some action against the insecurity epidemic. One of the first steps, she shared to become more of a confident person is by changing your thoughts about yourself and God. She explained how there is two types of confidence. The first one is rooted in our own human strength, personality, and abilities. This is referred in scripture as having confidence in the flesh. The second one is having a dependence on God and realizing everything comes from Him. She shared the dangers of comparison and how important it is to accept ourselves. We must embrace our strengths and weaknesses and our successes and failures. She went into detail about how God loves us just the way we are and we don’t need to compare ourselves with others. The world wants us to compare ourselves with others they use advertisement to accomplish this. We need to have the latest technology gadget, fashion trend, beauty secret to look younger, lose the extra weight, and anything else to keep up with everyone else. She explained how we are not supposed to covet and lust after whatever else someone else has. Jesus didn’t compare Himself to others. He told his disciples the greatest among them would be the one who serves others with joy.
Joyce opened up about how she struggled with comparison and would envy the pastor’s wife and some of her friends. She felt rejected and like she didn’t fit in. It took her many years to realize that God accepts her and created her in her mother’s womb. She revealed how she believed when we compared ourselves with others, we are insulting God for what He made us to be. We instead to learn to appreciate others for who they are and to love ourselves as we are. We can make a choice to focus on our strengths and maximizing them.
I would recommend this wonderful book to anyone who is struggling with being confident. I immensely loved how she covered what to do with our words. We can speak life and watch our words. I loved how she tried to help readers in not engaging in fearful talk. These is power when we speak what God says about us over our lives and we get in agreement with Him. I believe this will also assist us in become more confident. I also liked how she shared she had to do things afraid in order to grow and putting her car in drive. She was very transparent in sharing how she began her ministry and was afraid to quit her job and to peach the word and many times she still felt fear but she chose to keep going. This is an awesome resource to use to living boldly and with confidence.
"I received this book free from the publisher, Hachette Book Group/Faithwords for my honest review.”
I always love reading Joyce Meyer's books because she takes a topic and makes it understandable to everyone and Confidently You is no exception.
If you're a human being, you've more than likely struggled with self-confidence. I'll admit to you that even in my mid-50s, I still struggle with self-imposed confident limitations and there are so many good nuggets in this book that strike at the heart of confidence.
The book walks the reader through the steps to becoming a more confident person starting with where your confidence comes from.
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. Jeremiah 17:7 (NIV)
Confidence is nothing if it doesn't come from God. Self-confidence is reliance on self. Frankly, I am not the one to be pouring confidence into myself. I'm just not that confident! God is the only one who can give me that boldness to be confident.
Each chapter walks the reader through a different piece of the confidence pie and there are companion questions and Bible verses to spur the reader on to further investigate their growth. Some of the topics covered are positivity, comparison, fear, and perseverance. Deep subjects with large lessons.
This book is one that the reader is going to want to sit with a highlighter and pen to mark up the pages. There was a lot of good information that I'll want to go back and read and review from time to time. Each time I go through the book there is more and more lessons to take in. With the book's compact size, it's easy to throw in your bag to take along for those times you have a short break and it's a lot more productive than sitting and scrolling on your phone.
Joyce Meyer has knocked it out of the park again with Confidently You. I highly recommend it for readers from teens to adults.
I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
Confidentally You has a lot of information that I thought I knew well. God loves me. That is something I have heard my entire life. Sure I believe it, but how often have I taken the time to actually think on what that means? I think it's such an easy phrase to say, but not easy phrase to fully understand. A lot of the information in this book is like that. It takes things I know the basics about and helps me fully understand the meaning. A lot of the advice isn't new, but is discussed in a way I haven't thought about before. The chapters are structured for easy reading. Each chapter has a title and quote to let you know what you're going to read about in the chapter. The chapters are broken up into titled sections making it easy to put down and pick back up without losing your place. Each chapter ends with questions relating to the chapter for deeper thinking and verses that relate. While all the information in this book is information that I knew on the surface, I really enjoyed being able to dig deeper into the different concepts. The questions at the end of each chapter are great for helping you do this. I suggest this book to anyone who may be struggling with confidence or confidence that fails when you do. It's a great book for small Bible study groups with limited time.

Confidence is a key to being all God desires you be, says Meyer. Being confident means, “...you become the best, most courageous, most positive version of yourself.” (61/1255) Meyer is quick to point out she is not writing about self-confidence. This is not about relying on your own strength and effort. Our confidence is in Christ alone. We draw our strength from God, trusting His character absolutely.
Meyer encourages us to see ourselves as God sees us. She reminds us of the problems we encounter when we put confidence in something or someone other than God. She explores the benefits of confidence in God, receiving God's love, living authentically. She also addresses cautions and helps us overcome obstacles like fear or opposition. Meyer has included thought provoking questions at the end of each chapter as well as encouraging Scripture.
This is a short book packed with encouragement from Meyer. This material is from her previously published book, The Confident Woman .
I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.
Listened to on audiobook, narrated by Jodi Carlisle.
So, perhaps it’s because I listened to it on audiobook. But this book lacked so much depth. And some of her thoughts were weirdly off base to me. Like, “if your confidence is low, just go do something”, or “people who are shy or introverted should just put themselves out there”. Girl…..
I know there are die-hard Joyce Meyer fans. I have never really enjoyed her stuff. This one kind of seals it for me. At least until one of her covers intrigues me in a few years and I try again. Lol. She seems like a solid lady, and certainly loves Jesus. But her advice seems terribly short sighted.
If you want to learn confidence learn it from someone who had to overcome the lack of it! In this quick read Joyce shares the characteristics of a confident person. She teaches the toxicity of comparison and how to cultivate a confidence rooted in faith. This is not a "self-help" based on vanity and self-serving but a biblical truth of walking in the God-given confidence that we live and move and have our being in Him. Highly recommended for those who struggle in this area.
Wow wow wow! This was a short book but it was very impactful! As someone who constantly struggles with being confident, this book helped me understand the why and reasons behind it and ways to helps me grow. I enjoyed it a lot! Can’t wait to read others by the author! Thank you to NetGalley for the wonderful arc!
Great read! I couldn’t put it down. For such a simple word Joyce embarked on “Confidence” differently and connected concepts to biblical references like Paul and David.
I chose to read this book at the top of this year while fasting as an encourager to strengthen my faith walk this year and it did just that.
This book triggered a lot about my past but it gracefully advises on the right steps to take to achieve the highest levels of confidence as a Christian. It identifies the areas that cause on to deplete their confidence and provides insight on how to gain the confidence
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to build up their confidence and win.
I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. Joyce Meyer does it again with another outstanding book. We all need to read this one about how fear can hold you back. We are so loved by God and that is the reason to stand tall and move forward.
Each devotion was nice and short. I enjoyed the quotes at the beginning of each chapter. I loved how each chapter ended with the sections "Questions To Help You Grow In Confidence" and " Confidence Boosters". The questions really got me to think about how truly confident I am. The scriptures at the end of each chapter definitely helped to remind me to not be afraid and to be confident in God and who I am in God.
This was beautifully written! As always, joyce meyer wrote this book hitting areas in my life that needs improvement. This book is a reminder to seek and live according to God and not of this world specially in this day and age. High recommended 💖
Confidently You is really good read. It is just what I needed at this time in my life. It has definitely inspired me to try and become a more confident person.
Despite its cheesy title this book made me feel so seen. I took so many notes while listening to the audio book. I would recommend this to anyone. Confidence is a choice.
“Confident people do not concentrate on their weaknesses; they develop and maximize their strengths.”
Note to self: Don’t read two Joyce Meyer books back-to-back! It tends to lose its punch.
While I learned a little from this book, I feel like I’ve read it before, in just a slightly different format. I have a feeling that reading Meyer back-to-back was my mistake and that I should re-read this book in future for my own benefit.
