I skimmed this gorgeous book, which caught my eye at one of the libraries on the Library Lovers Expedition. The photos are breathtaking and all the trips look truly enticing! I know I will want to pick this book up again when considering a trip to Europe.

Ben jij ook zo iemand die al heeft uitgerekend op welke manier je het meeste kan maken van je vakantiedagen, om daarna online te zoeken naar bestemmingen? Hou je ervan om op vakantie te gaan, en om meteen een hele streek te bezoeken? Dan is Mythische autotochten in Europa een aanrader!

Mythische autotochten in Europa bespreekt vele verschillende locaties: een roadtrip op het zonnige Mallorca, of het nog vrij onbekende Albanië, of helemaal naar de Noorse Lofoten. De mogelijkheden zijn heel divers, maar zijn wel fijn per windrichting ingedeeld. Zo lees je eerst over Zuid-Europa, maar staat ook alles in Noord-Europa bij elkaar. Fijn als je al wat beter weet welke kant je op wil – je hoeft dan niet constant het hele boek door te bladeren. En wanneer je nog begint met inspiratie zoeken, kun je twee dingen doen. Of je opent het boek op een willekeurige pagina, of je leest het gewoon van voor naar achter en zoekt wat leuks uit. Genoeg bestemmingen om uit te kiezen!

Iedere bestemming is een uitgeschreven roadtrip in een verhalende vorm. Er is een kleine afbeelding met de route, er worden verschillende punten benoemd en soms zelfs de namen van de wegen, maar een échte routebeschrijving zit er niet in. Het is dus geen routeboek met “sla rechtsaf na 20 kilometer”, maar de roadtrips geven vooral veel inspiratie wat je kan zien in bepaalde regio’s. Mythische autotochten in Europa bevat 50 roadtrips, maar ook nog 150 extra roadtrips die korter zijn uitgeschreven. Denk bijvoorbeeld een route langs Loch Ness, en dan nog 3 aanvullende routes langs andere Europese meren.

Staat er dan helemaal geen praktische informatie in het boek? Ja zeker wel – ten eerste zijn de routes met kleuren ingedeeld in 3 categorieën: eenvoudig, zwaarder en mythisch. Zo kun je ook als beginnende roadtripper al aan de slag. 😉 Daarnaast bevat iedere roadtrip een kopje met praktische informatie. Hier zie je wat de afstand is van de af te leggen route, wat de beste manier is om aan vervoer te komen en in welke tijd van het jaar de roadtrip het beste te doen is. Ook staan er regelmatig links naar meer informatie, goede restaurants en andere tips.

Dus heb je zin om je volgende vakantie op roadtrip te gaan? Lees Mythische autotochten in Europa en zoek jouw favoriete route. Of ga helemaal los en combineer meerdere routes. Met de prachtige foto’s en leuke reisverhalen krijg je meteen zin om erop uit te trekken.
