After finishing the first book, I immediately grabbed the second. Now that the world building has laid a foundation, the uniqueness of Bivrost Nine really starts to shine. While the first book felt like a tangent off of Babylon 5, the second book charts its own path.

There is a lot more intrigue between the alien races, to start. A lot of questioning of who is good and who isn’t while a conflict simmers in the background. Nysse is everywhere, going on expeditions, leading fleets of ships, fighting aliens while keeping Bivrost Nine viable. Dang she is stretched thin. But she pulls it off and then some, which is cool to watch.

As a reader of Rogue Systems Recon, the author’s in depth blog, a lot of what the command staff say & do is straight from there. The author is putting his ideas into play within a fictional world & it isn’t pretty. Especially with regards to large organization disfunction, in this case the military & academics. The systems analysis performed by Winston is grounded in real science & is neat to see in action to give the staff warnings of when events may take place. Oh, its fun to watch Kelsey get stomped by Nysse (if you’ve read the first book, you should know the two will spar more). Kelsey embodies all that is wrong with the fail upward mentality of current military & civilian leadership, as seen by the author.

I really felt the author had more room to work with in the second book. There is more nuance and the characters are being pushed, with us watching how they deal with the next crisis. I’ve already started the 3rd book. I learned that the author sees this as a 6 book series & the 4th should be out in late 2025.

Oh, as the author is a huge cat nut, adding the cat was a wonderful surprise. The cat that likes Nysse reminds me a bit of my sister’s cat, though different color.

The Scae Resurgence is the second instalment in the saga created by Andrew Tanner and that started with the thrilling Bivrost Nine. In this new book, the adventures continue when Nysse and her group of eclectic companions have to face a new threat. They will fight to survive and save Bivrost Nine in this fantastic and captivating novel.
As soon as I saw this book was available, I got it because I really like the writer's world-building capacity and his ability to create fascinating narratives. After I finished it, I can say that I was not disappointed at all. I enjoyed this book a lot. It is very well written. The plot is gripping and portrays a mixture of science fiction, action and intrigue that makes it unputdownable. The construction of the characters is excellent, they are clever and original. I cannot wait to read more from this author. I recommend it.

This is the second book in The Bivrost Nine Saga, and it's better than the last. In a place where humanity has discovered travel at light's speed. There are numerous colonies of beings, both friend and foe spread across. Nysse and her team of misfits are tasked with running a small city on a dead world in the Bivrost channel, something that was an incredibley gruelling task! They're pulling it off though. When the Scae return, Nysse, Winston, Sam and Ishlaa will be forced to trust each other like never before, but trust never comes easy. Each has something to hide, and below the Bivrost Nine, there's a being that no mortal being can comprehend, named Omraa Siuan. who has great plans for the Bivrost Nine.

tense situations of sci-fi

The Scae Resurgence is the second installment in The Bivrost Nine Saga and focuses on a deadly threat that is far from Earth and what is known. The characters are much more developed in the second installment and that is clearly represented with the authors polished story-telling. I liked that the characters presented some witty conversation, specifically in moments of tense situations. This is a great reading recommendation for those who enjoy action and science fiction, specifically if they enjoy diving into a memorable series that will captivate their interest. This is definitely one that you would want to read in order though, as to best follow the characters and their travels.

The Scae Resurgence by award-winning author Andrew Tanner is a book of mindblowing action, snarky adventures, diplomatic intrigue, and surprising plot twists. It's a standalone masterpiece among the Bivrost Nine Saga and has a compelling character line-up. A futuristic read with some intergalactic gate travel between centuries. A group of misfits tries to uphold peace. With aliens to deal with, things get challenging and beyond anyone's comprehension as the plot paces forward. There's an unmatched thrill that'll hook you to the book till the very end. An impeccable page-turner, unmatched illustrations, and a creative storyline indeed. Loved the book!

I am really impressed by the quality of this narrative. Author Tanner, once again, does not disappoint with
this second installment in The Bivrost Nine Saga.
The thing I would highlight the most from this author is the way he described how running a city in the Bivrost Channel was not an easy job, the way he depicted each and every action the main protagonists undertook and the way he was able to set up a perfect atmosphere and tone that made me thought I was really in those days next to the characters.
This was a great read, specially meant to be enjoyed at night before going to bed. I loved it!
