Patton Jones has been deceiving Chase, Slade, and Devin Davis, but she's tired of playing the sweet, innocent, sisterly figure. When the brothers confront her with her lies, she decides it's time for the Davis brothers to see her as the woman she really is. Patton isn't the only one keeping secrets and the brothers fear that their own hidden lifestyle might be more than their little woman can handle. The brothers are unaware that Patton knows about their dark desires and is not the least bit intimidated. Knowing and experiencing are two different things. As Patton tastes small samples of the forbidden fruit, she becomes even more reckless in her enthusiasm to get the three brothers into her bed. Patton's wild schemes go too far and the brothers have to make a decision that will seal all their fates.

Throughout my life, I’ve always been an avid reader. Reading fed my need to dream and fantasize about what could be. As a latchkey kid I’d spend hours at the library earning those shiny stars the librarian would paste up on the board after my name.

I credit my grandmother’s yearly visits as the beginning of my obsession with romances. When she’d come, she’d bring stacks of romance books, the old fashioned kind that didn’t have sex in them. Imagine my shock when I went to the used bookstore and found out what really could be in a romance novel.

I’ve been writing stories for years and have found a particular love of erotic romances. In this genre, women are no longer confined to a stereotype and plots are no longer constrained to the rational. I love the anything goes mentality and letting my imagination run wild.

I hope you enjoyed running with me and will consider picking up another book and coming along for another adventure.

3.5 out of 5 stars

First let me state that this book won't be for everybody. If you don't have the ability to suspend disbelief when you read a book, then this one isn't for you. Feminists, beware. This book has heroes that will make your blood boil, they are so darn macho, sexist, dominating, and often act like Neanderthals, yet somehow, someway, the author manages to pull it off and they do become likeable.

The heroes are three sexy brothers-- Chase, Slade, and Devin Davis--ranchers in a small southeastern Alabama town, ranging in age from late 20s to early 30s. Besides being ranchers, they are also members and founders of the Cattlemen's Club. The Cattlemen's Club is where men go to learn how to master their women, and women go to learn how to become slaves to their masters--and the Davis men are the teachers. It's all very lucrative--it's the small town's main source of income--but everyone is not aware of just what happens at the Cattlemen's Club.

One person out of the loop is 23 year old Patton Jones. Patton's like a sister to the Davis boys--she practically grew up with them, having lived with them since she was six years old. But Patton's been gone from Alabama for a few years, running her successful, sexy lingerie design business from Atlanta, and unaware that the Davis boys have recently found out what she's been up to. And they're not happy. They summon her home for a confrontation about the line of business she's in. The Davis boys have very conservative ideas about what they'd like Patton's life to be like. And being the model for her sexy lingerie business is not what they want for her. And despite having the hots for her since she was sixteen, they still think of her as a sister. They all love and adore her, and even though they harbor secret fantasies of sharing her and having a life with her, no way would they subject her to their perversions. She wouldn't want a life like that anyway, would she?

Are you kidding? Patton would love nothing better than to have a life with the Davis men. And yes, she loves them like brothers, but she loves them like men, too. Although not totally inexperienced, technically, she's a virgin, and she'd like all three of the Davis men to be her 'first'. She's aware of their sexual proclivities, having spied on them with other women, and although a little nervous about taking on all three of them, she's highly aroused with the thought. Now, how to convince them that it would be a good idea that they all get together?

Well, after lots of arguing, demands, tricks, and flat-out "no's", Patton finally gets her way, and the Davis men succumb to her charms. And the worries about taking on all three of the dominating Davis men? What worries--Patton takes to it like a duck to water! Heck, she doesn't mind being spanked, punished for 'disobeying', or used as a sex toy (or have sex toys used on her)! This is a fantasy come true for her, as it is for the Davis men. But what happens when they want her to obey not only in the bedroom, but in all aspects of her life? Can Patton live with that? Can Patton convince her men to learn to compromise? And can Patton tolerate her men being involved in the Cattlemen's Club?

Well, there's no question that certain parts of this book were way hot! But darn, those Davis men (especially oldest brother Chase) sure tried my patience at times. He was like a throw-back to another era. An era where women were only good for the bedroom and kitchen. But to the author's credit, at least Patton was feisty and stubborn, and didn't put up with his crap. She continually challenged his dominance (outside the bedroom), and I think that's what made her so intriguing to him. Chase loved that about Patton, because he wasn't used to a woman challenging his authority. There were lots of kinky sex acts in this book (including spanking, bondage, sex toys, four-somes, anal, lots of oral, and the whole master/slave thing), so if that kind of thing disturbs you, then this is definitely not the book for you. To be honest, at times I wanted to just give up on the book, because Chase and his Neanderthal ways were bugging me. But I wanted to find out exactly what was going on at the Cattlemen's club, which wasn't totally revealed until near the end of the book, and I also wanted to see if this foursome could work things out. For the most part I liked Patton, and I liked youngest brother Devin and middle brother Slade. And thankfully, Chase mellowed a little toward the end of the book. I also was intrigued with the possible pairing of Patton's girlfriend Hailey with either Cole or Kyle, two equally sexy 'Cattlemen' that Hailey claimed to despise, in a future book.

While this wasn't your typical romance, and probably not my favorite genre, it did keep me interested enough to keep reading. And while there were more than a few eye-rolling moments for me, I did like how the story developed, and I believed that the characters did love each other, which was important to me. Fans of menage and BDSM will probably love this book, for me, I didn't quite love it, but I liked it--3 1/2 stars.

I didn't like any of the characters in this story, least of all the heroine. Though BDSM isn't a fav theme of mine in erotic romance, I didn't find it unsettling in the books I'd read in the past. In Patton's Way, though, the brother's side business of prostituting themselves did not sit well with me at all.

I compare my reaction to, say, Joey Hill's Ice Queen and its sequel, Mirror of My Soul, where both protaganists were Master & Mistress, training subs. I never felt icky over what they did at all and similarly with other BDSM-themed stories. Somehow, what the brothers in PW were doing came across sleazy and though they preferred to call it "training", I can't help but feel as the heroine did and call it prostitution.

My realizing how differently I felt about the 3 brothers compared to other heroes who were doing similar things, pulled me out of the story so I couldn't enjoy it much.

I'm probably not giving this book a fair review with my (barely) 2 stars, but really I'm getting bored with that kind of stories.

I won't even mention how common has become the trop : 3 rough cowboy brothers lust after the same innocent girl, who happens to be somehow under their guardianship, but won't impose on her a ménage (because, yes, apparently all cowboy siblings always share their females) because they love her and she deserves better, so she's forced to act all slutty and playing with their barbarian lusty ways to convince them that a ménage is what she wants (what virgin wouldn't?) and have them change their minds. No, so far, I knew what was coming after having seen the cover, read the subtitle (cattleman's club is pretty obvious, isn't it?) and of course the résumé. It doesn't change the fact that the plot is rather transparent, but you know what they say, forewarned is forearmed...

What really bothered me was the characters.
The heroine, first, is a whiny, annoying brat, which is all the more annoying because she keeps claiming that she's a grown up. I've lost count of how many times she's pouted, whined, stormed in/out of a room, stomped a foot and pouted some more. She's innocent, we got it, but why on earth does she need to behave like a 6 years old? That didn't fit her description of a strong-willed woman, who created and manages her own business, rides a motorcycle, and doesn't blink an eye at posing for some risqué photos in her underwear to go all over the world wide web. It's really a pity to have introduced such a potentially good character and ruin everything with childish (and cliché) behaviour.

Pretty much the same can be said about the heroes _ the paradoxical reactions, not the childish attitude. Not that they don't behave like teenage boys ruled by their hormones _ they totally do, going around with a seemingly permanent hard-on (they even mention it becoming an exoskeleton, a rather weird image if you ask me O_o). No, what was really strange is that those 3 experienced Doms (hell, they even founded a slave-training business!) will so willingly and rather naively accept being topped from the bottom. Also inconsistent with the characters description was the rather vanilla-sex. Yes, there was a bit of spanking and sex toys play, yes they are alpha males. But, given what we learn from them throughout the book, I kinda expected some rougher/kinkier stuff.

Despite the transparent plot and the inconsistencies in the characters, there was some good stuff in this book. I liked the struggle inside the different characters, who try to find a way to go with their desires and not break the existing relationships between them. I also liked that the heroine didn't back down about going on with her business and managed to find a compromise.

That's why I know I'm making this book pay for my boredom with the genre in general, but really, some originality would have been more welcome.

The sex in this book is absolutley hot once the brothers give in and claim Patton. I did get frustrated with Chase, who was just too arrogant and obnoxious. I admired Patton for standing her ground and not giving in when it came to how she wanted to be treated out of the bedroom. I think it's the first time Chase ever heard of the word "compromise".
The BDSM really was not bad. Some light spanking and light use of the flogger. I hate reading BDSM stories where the women is marked with welts and bruises and was very happy that this was not the case in this book. The brothers side business with the Cattlemens club was a turn off. It made it look like the brothers were pimps and not trainers.

This is the story of a woman who is in love with the three very overprotective men who helped raise her. They are too scared to unleash their hard-lovin ways on her because they see her as too innocent. She is definitely not what they thought she was so she proceeds to prove that to them and they all must realize how much they need to compromise to make their group-relationship work.

I'll preface this by saying this is an incredibly scorching hot erotic love story. Yes, you can definitely feel the love between all these characters through the entire story. HOWEVER, it was a truly ANGST-filled and painful journey the whole way through. It just seemed like there was conflict at absolutely every turn. I cringed at all the lengths Patton had to go to to manipulate and trap her men in to doing what she wanted, and even then still she got caught and got punished at every turn because she didn't ever quite think her plans through. I won't say she was a weak heroine. She definitely made her opinions known and she was stubborn. But it just never seemed she got ahead with these men. I know deep down they absolutely loved and adored her but she was constantly getting caught in her scheming and it never seemed like she was making any headway. I hated that it seemed they always had the upper hand over her. I suppose it's just that my female pride personally couldn't stand that. It all ends up okay in the end but it just didn't seem like things ever went smoothly. Everything was a constant fight and a battle of wills. That part was very difficult to take through such a long story. I felt like I had to take a huge breath of relief in the end!!

I love Jenny Penn's stories. If you love hot domineering sexy stories, then you will definitely love that element of this story (super long steamy scenes). But this one was personally just a little tough for me to handle. No smooth sailing in this story. The gloves were on the entire time. Ouch!!

Wow...H.O.T! Can't wait to read the next book in this series. Patton has spent the last four years lying to her three self appointed guardians only to be caught by them because of one of her clients. She implied that she had spent the last four years in school, when in reality she had built and self marketed a racy underwear shop & online catalog featuring herself. All three men have made a pact that they will not touch Patton, even though they are all in love with her. She pushes and pushes for what she wants...all three of them in her bed. But to no avail so she convinces another man to take her up on her offer, hoping the three men she loves will rescue her, of course they do. Then turn her into a sex slave and try to take everything she loves away from her, her motorcycle and her business. Hmmm...sucks for her, until she ends up strapped to a bed in a burning barn then the men change their tune. They give her everything she wants, but it is not what she wants, she enjoyed what she had before. She wants the doms back to themselves, possessive and arrogant and demanding, not skiddish and whimmpy. She gets it and the book ends great...I can not wait until the next one.

Not for everybody... Definitely erotica with 3 brothers lusting after a girl they helped raise. They don't want to 'soil' her with their brand of kinky dominance. She lusts back and tries many plots to break through their resistance. She eventually succeeds and a good time is had by all.

The whole 'slave' training thing is not my bag [I occasionally wanted to smack the brothers, especially Chase:] but it was well written. Probably the biggest 'you've got to be kidding me' in this one is that the brothers own a BDSM sex club in a very small town. Granted the movers and shakers of the town are members but I just can't see this playing out for very long...

It is obviously set up for a sequel but it doesn't appear to be released yet.

They really should have proofread the book better - so many, many typos, spell-check errors and words missing. And how did they ever approve the cover? The art design was OK but didn't match the size of the cover so the picture is distorted. It would have worked so much better with sidebars or framing...

A well-written book that is heavy on the sizzle and a great deal of BDSM, especially in light of the fact that The Cattleman's Club is a sex club that trains Doms and Submissives. But the underlying story plot is interesting and the characters are not just window dressing in this story. Each of the brothers is his own man and each has been in love with Patton for many years. Their greatest fear is that she is not going to be able to tolerate their rough style of loving and will ultimately leave them. I am not very hip on BDSM but there is a rather gentle spirit in this novel and there is no damage done. In fact, each of these brothers are very careful to see to it that no one is ever damaged. While I don't know about my own total feelings about all this, it was still a good story of how this on-again, off-again relationship developed into a loving family.

2.5 Stars.
This was one long book and I almost didn't finish it. I have very seldom said this, but this story had too much sex and very little storyline.
I thought Patton was too much of a manipulative schemer and thought only of herself. The guys but especially Chase was over the top arrogant and thought women were good for only one thing and need to be barefoot and pregnant. In fact, the whole town seemed to live in a kinky Stepford lifestyle.
Patton was a virgin with experience but on her first time, the guys never let up on her doing EVERYTHING. Any normal person would be in the ER and would have to have therapy for years after to get over it.
I felt sorry for Charlotte with how the guys treated her. She didn't deserve that and it just goes to show that the guys were not good Masters.
Needless to say, I won't be reading the rest of this series.

These men annoyed the shit out of me, so sexist and pigheaded. I loved that Patton gave them a run for their money....I loved these characters, truly. That they finally communicated and compromised made me smile. Now onto book #2.

I resisted buying this book for some time, and I was right to resist. As I feared, it is very steamy, but so repetitive. The h is young and spoiled, and the Hs are terminally stupid. They are supposedly Doms for hire, but in this book, Doms seem to be a guy that yells at the h, is always right, and never listens to anyone else. The h is feisty, sassy - my most disliked character for an h. What I didn't get was any romance or love, just repetitive steamy scenes where she screams and comes on demand. So boring.

Patton came to live with the Davis family after the death of her father. Now, shes an adult, and she wants to build a relationship with the three men she lovesthe Davis brothers. The only problem is, they helped raise her and are convinced that she needs to be protected from the type of relationship that they will require from a woman. Patton sets out to prove them wrong and to destroy the brothers pact to keep their hands off her.

I love mnage stories whether they are mfm or mmf as long as there is a HEA for all involved; I also like BDSM and D/s stories. Pattons Way provides a great mnage story with some D/s thrown in. Each brother brings a different personality to the relationship. Chase is the oldest and the alpha. Hes convinced that his sexual needs will drive Patton away. Devin is the youngest and most carefree of the brothers. Slade, the middle brother, is a great combination of the other two personalities. One reason that I read mnage stories is that there are times when I feel that some necessary character trait is missing in the heroes of traditional mf novels. I want the heroine to have everything: an alpha, a confidante, someone to laugh with, someone to dance with, someone wholl fight for her, etc. It doesnt always seem like one man can provide all those things. A woman who finds herself in a relationship with the Davis brothers will definitely have someone to slake every desire.

Patton herself is an interesting character. Shes more mature than the brothers give her credit for being, but shes also nave enough that she doesnt necessarily consider all the possible ramifications of her actions. All in all, I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the second installment of the Cattlemens series.

If you like Lora Leighs Men of August and/or Bound Hearts books, then youll probably like Pattons Way.

This book evoked strong emotions from the beginning. When I started reading this I couldn't decide if I was going to like it or not. In the end, I loved it - 3 stars for its escapism, suspend all disbelief, naughtiness; 1 extra star for being laugh out loud funny.

This has all of the overused elements- the 3 alpha "brothers", the sexy virgin "sister" (of course they aren't related); the ranch, the sex club started by the brothers; the burning desire for each other, yada yada yada.

But this author manages to take these tired elements and bring new life to them. The virgin sister is no shrinking violet. She is loud, irrepressible, and maddening. The sh*t she pulls... well, you just gotta read the book.

The three brothers- we've seen them before, yeah they're hot, they're old fashioned, sexist, especially the oldest one-- see! I told you you've seen 'em before. But, you'll like them anyway, they're sexy as hell, and can they perform, hell yeah!

There isn't a sibling ick factor. Patton's father once worked on the ranch; after her parents' deaths the boys' mother raised Patton until she died, then the boys finished raising Patton. Convoluted yes, but necessary for an erotic romance menage foundation. :-)

The dialogue throughout the book will have you smiling and laughing. Good dialogue is priceless, and this book delivers.

Here's a sample quote (in the middle of sex in the kitchen):
"No," she screamed, fighting his hold when Chase came to a sudden stand still. "You bastard. Don't you dare stop."
"You need some lessons on pillow talk, sweetheart." Chase chuckled unsteadily.

BONUS: Be prepared to hold your e-reader with some oven mitts. This book is a delivery system for sex, and LOTS of it, some of the smuttiest, in your face erotica I've read recently. The BDSM is mild, nothing cringeworthy.

I'm so torn about Jenny Penn. On one hand she writes these amazingly sexy southern men and these super raunchy ménage scenes, Hailey's Game was one of the first erotic novels I ever read and it blew my mind.
Buuuuuuuut...
Feminists beware. Her dudes are misogynists with a capital M, they're controlling, ultra-jealous and say things like 'God damnit Patton! I should wash your mouth out with soap. A proper lady doesn't talk like that.'
I mean one of the biggest conflicts in Patton's Way is that Patton, who is actually *self-assured* for a Penn heroine, wants to have a job. Yes a job. And no this book isn't set in pre-Betty Friedan 1955. Her men, Chase, Slade and Devin think she should be content being a wife and mother. Again not set in 1955, everyone has mobile phones.
Enjoyable but with an aftertaste is how I like to think of them. Best to space them out.

Good read, lots of hot steam scenes in this one. It may have been a bit longer than it needed to be, but you really can't complain when you are getting your money's worth. I am not big on books where the female is the aggressor, and that was pretty much the case all through the book. The men are very dominant and in command, but she really had to scheme, plan, and pursue them through the book. Gotta love chicks like Patton though .. she knew what she wanted and was ready to do anything to go after it. I would have folded after the first few rejections. I liked that she was tough enough to withstand their ways and not become a wallflower, and it was fun to read more about her schemes in the later books, too.

This book started out very promising. I was really enjoying the sexual tension and the chemistry they displayed. Then when they finally did the deed, (about 50% into it) it became all about the sex. Really, after the chase there was not left of the "plot". I was disappointed with lack of story it ultimately had...

The sex was hot, but unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of Either Chase or Patton. Patton was manipulative and spoiled. Chase was sexist and obnoxious, pretty much your basic tool. I don't feel like Slade and Devin were all that memorable in the face of Chase's outright assholish-ness. Not to mention, our bad guy ran away after a fire that the fire department could straight up tell was intentionally set. What happened? Who set the fire? Seriously!!! It was never answered and pretty much dismissed after it was mentioned.

I was okay with suspending belief in plausibility for a book, cause, you know, it's a book. But there were huge holes in the story line that just killed me.

The first half of the book had a wonderful plot. The story-line was great.
But after that we go downhill fast and we crash to the ground. Hard.
The story loses the surprise factor that it held before. I no longer anticipate what's gonna happen, because I KNOW exactly what's going to happen. It just gets tiring.
I was also bothered by the MANY mistakes, grammar, misspellings, etc. I think the book should have gone to an editor before it was published.
And if it had been to an editor, then shame on you, editor.

Anyhow, the book had great potential. I love so amny of the things that were in this book, but for some reason, it didn't work out for me with this one.. /:

Meh. At first I liked Patton, but then she turned into one of 'those' women. You know, those women that will crawl on their hands and knees for a man, give up friends and family for a man, give up personal freedoms for a man - and she did it for 3.

Out of the brothers, I liked Devin and Slade the most. I really HATED the idea of the Cattleman's Club - the story could have done without it completely. The sex scenes were overly repetitive and dragged on a lot longer than they needed to - I skipped a lot of them and usually those are my favorite part.

I really enjoyed this book. Jenny Penn did an excellent job of making sure the Davis brothers are their own characters and given their own time in the book. I liked Patton, too. She had the right amount of stubbornness and determination and though her schemes seemed totally crazy at times, it suited her.

The one point I had a problem with is that I don't think they resolved the issue of the fire at the end. I may have missed it but it seemed like it was left open-ended or unfinished. I am looking forward to Hailey's story though.

That was a fun little adventure! Patton was a trip, the sex was hot, and the guys were delish. It was a little too heavy on the BDSM thing for my personal tastes, but I recommend this to anyone who likes that type of thing. The whole master/slave punishment-by-pleasure scenario is too contrived for me. That said, it was a fun detour from my usual pursuits, and a great ménage story. I was disappointed by the gaping plot hole, though. A serious crime is committed, the obvious suspect provides an alibi, and that's all we hear of it! Odd.

I debated about buying this book for so long and then just did it. I was so happy I did. I loved it! Super hot and I read it every chance I could sneek away. I do have to make a note that it was really badly edited though.

I loved the characters, the story line and the only thing that I found a disappointment was that I am frantically searching for a Cattleman's Club book 2 and I cant seem to see one.

Jenny Penn writes hot stories. Patton's way had turned me on big time. Her sense of humour shines through this book. Patton is quite the little brat. She deserves more punishment, that's for sure. I love the three brothers. This was a first for me when it came to a stable relationship with three men and one woman. I didn't think it would appeal to me, but boy was I wrong. Ms. Penn needs to write a bit faster. Love her books.

I liked the menage and I liked the sex, but the brothers' heavy-handed arrogance was completely frustrating. For me, the best part was the rip-roaring argument Patton has with one of the brothers towards the end of the book; it put a little more life into the story. Interesting that there would be a sex club in a small town that half its residents belonged to; I wonder if there really is a place like that out there in small town USA? 3.5 stars.

Will definitely be purchasing the next in the series. Great dialogue and steamy, hot sex with 3 alpha males!!! The great part of the book is Patton stood toe-to-toe with each of her men to fight for what she wanted and wasn't a doormat.
