Adam, Hollys früherer Schwarm aus Kindertagen, kommt zurück in seine Heimat. Er ist inzwischen steinreich und ein Weihnachtsmuffel. Holly dagegen liebt Weihnachten über alles.
Natürlich kommen sich die beiden näher...
🎵 Es ist kein schlechtes Buch, aber mich hat es irgendwie nicht berühren können.
Ich fand es stellenweise zu langatmig und wenig unterhaltsam und auch zu wenig weihnachtlich.

This is exactly the kinda Crhistmas romance I want!
The MCs; Holly and Adam, had known each other when they were kids. Life happened and they hadn't see each other for a decade. When they reconnect, it’s slow and intimate.
Others might say the pace was a little slow but I found it perfect for these characters to actually get to know one another. They asked questions, they were honest and open.
The ‘complication’ was short-lived but I did not mind at all. I hate when something that could just be resolved with one conversation is dragged on for like, 20 pages.
I also loved how well we actually got to know these characters. Why they had their respective feelings towards this particular holiday.
Plus, I loved seeing a glimpse of Holly’s family dynamic.
My favourite part was that their relationship wasn’t burning hot and sudden and crazy. It grew from familiarity and comfort.
They really got to know each other first. They said they liked each other before using that other ‘L’ word.
I can definitely see myself reading this story again!

Holiday fun
What a sweet and sexy Christmas treat! Longer than a novella but not quite a novel, this low angst holiday romance had me smiling by the end. It has a little bit of a slow start, but once our Scrooge of a hero shows his sweeter side, it was a whole lot of fun. It's light and sexy with plenty of Christmas spirit, and I loved the small town feel, complete with a rich history between our couple. Adam is the guy Holly crushed on in her youth, and now he's back home - older, successful, and still just as swoony. It didn't give me second chance romance vibes (which I appreciate), because their 4-year age gap means that Adam never considered her an option back in the day. But now that they're both adults, there's no one else he sees.
The story follows Adam, a guy who has let work overtake his life for the last decade. He's built a successful company from the ground up, and that's taken a toll on his personal life. When a spur of the moment decision has him purchasing a home in the small town he grew up in, he doesn't know what he's getting into. Adam no longer loves Christmas - why would he, when it hasn't been good to him in years? But there's one upbeat, Christmas-loving woman in town who won't leave him be, and Holly is no longer the girl next door that he once knew. Holly has Adam rethinking everything, and she might just bring the joy of Christmas back into his life.
This was a quick, lighthearted read that flew by. I'm not sure if the beginning is weaker than the rest or if it just took me a little bit to get my bearings, but I was loving this before long. Adam and Holly are super sweet together, and there's just enough steam to heat things up. He's a refreshingly likable guy, honestly, not a major Scrooge. I love a good brother's (former) best friend romance, and this is one that's executed without much angst or emotional baggage. These two have great chemistry in the present, and there's plenty of Christmas cheer to liven things up. The small town feel and family moments make it such a fun, festive read, and the short length makes it easy to binge in one sitting. Just what I like in a holiday romance!

Ya se fue la epoca adecuada para leer esta novela, sin embargo, pese a tener tematica Navideña, The Billionaire Scrooge Next Door ha demostrado que es la lectura perfecta, ya sea diciembre o julio.
Me gusto mas de lo que esperaba, es sencilla, un poco predecible y sin nada de drama, ademas, la pareja principal es adorable, me sorprendio gratamente el que tuvieran una conexion tan bonita y natural.
En serio, si quieres leer una historia dulce y que te ponga de buen humor automaticamente, esta es tu historia.

3,2 💫 | Este libro no es nada del otro mundo, pero Dios, me ha gustado muchísimo 💖 lo he disfrutado bastante.
En definitiva, lo recomiendo para leer en épocas de invierno (o cuando quieran, como yo jsjs). Es un libro cortito, lindo, muy cozy con todas las vibes navideñas y también tiene a una pareja que me ha encantado!!! Ese segundo epílogo fue demasiado tierno y perfecto 🤧💕.
No me había dado cuenta de que tengo varios libros de ella pendientes, así que obviamente seguiré leyendo a esta autora.
Una pequeña aclaración: el protagonista no es amargado (al menos, a mí no me lo parece), solo es un Grinch (para quién no entienda la ref, odia la navidad). Y me agrado que tuviera un buen porqué, no solo porque sí y ya.
Y yap, leanlo si aman el romance rosita y quieren ser felices por un rato 💘

This one was so sweet and wholesome! I loved it! 😍
I expected a cute christmas romance and I got a christmas romance that was sweet and steamy and wholesome and funny. I got a FMC that was the perfect mix of sassy and composed, of chearful and calm and she was oh so sympathetic. And I got an MMC that was charming and flirty and serious, a little reserved and cautious, but also warm and friendly and kind.🥹
Even though this was a short book, it has a great development in story and characters without seeming rushed or too fast-paced.
I am so going to read more by that author, because this book was wonderful!🫶

Super cute and fun! I love all these little Christmas novellas I’m reading. I’m 9 times out of 10 not a novella girlie, but all of these Christmas ones really hits for me. I loved how sweet this one was. Holly helping Adam get reacquainted with the town that cast his family out, and letting him enjoy the holidays was absolutely adorable. The entire book is just them getting to know each other again after years apart, and then going from a tentative friendship to acting on their very mutual attraction. Adam was Holly’s brothers best friend, a huge crush she had in childhood, and it was such a sweet type of dynamic. I love brothers best friend when they know each other as children, and this was a perfect take on that. Holly and Adam’s friendship and love for each other was very believable despite the very short page count. This read like a Hallmark movie with a bit of spice. Such a cute time if you’re looking for a Christmas romance!

Cozy and warm, with a bit of Christmas cheer, a bit of spice in a cute festive little town alight with Christmas lights 🎄
I loved the first crush/ big brother's best friend tropes in this and the feelings of homey traditions, found family ❤️
He —the Christmas Grinch— not only allowed her to uniform his house to the street (making her spend a fortune on decorations, a dream), but also bought a tree, so she could decorate it in his house because she couldn't in her own and it was her favourite tradition (me too girl) 🥹
Also the dates, the blizzard, the spice were nice 😏
It really had everything, like a beautiful and perfectly wrapped Christmas gift. 🎁
I intend to read more from this author, I already had her newest release in my TBR, so I'm looking forward to that one early in 2025!✨

I AM SCREAMING. This was a wonderful read & a great audiobook. 10/10 recommend.

I think this will work for a lot of people, it just didn't totally work for me. It reads very wholesome, cordial and even a bit formal at times and that all comes across a bit awkward to me. I didn't feel their sexual chemistry at all. It was all very PG, I kinda felt like I was at a middle school dance and someone was working up the nerve to ask their crush to dance even though I was reading about people in their late twenties/early thirties. So to me it seemed like this wouldn't have explicit sex scenes, but it did have one (everything else was closed doors afterwards) and it was fine, but the build up to it was just awkward for me rather than filled with sexual tension. And even afterwards the hero says, "I like you a great deal, Holly." Like okay, grandpa...this is supposed to be a 33-year-old tech billionaire and that's what he says to Holly the morning after they have sex and to me he just has no game whatsoever. The last third or fourth of the novella was cuter to me so it wasn't all bad, but not great either.
I think this will work for a lot of people, it just didn't totally work for me. It reads very wholesome, cordial and even a bit formal at times and that all comes across a bit awkward to me. I didn't feel their sexual chemistry at all. hace meses que no leía una romcom de este estilo, pochoclero y con la que tenes una sonrisa durante toda la lectura.
es una historia corta, entretenida, divertida y que aunque tiene temática navideña es ideal para leerla en cualquier época del año.
la química entre Adam y Holly, nuestros protagonistas fue hermosa, era todo tan genuino que daba ternura.
Adam se llevó mi corazón, lo amo y me hubiera gustado que el libro sea más largo para leer sobre él y Holly

Xmas countdown: Day 1
After the lack of Christmas in yesterday’s book, The billionaire Scrooge next door felt like making amends. Because, honestly, it is Christmas in book format!!!
Every typical tradition there is, finds its place from Christmas tree decorating over Secret Santa to visiting the Christmas Fair, which makes the story extremely comforting to read. (And now I want to be part of the Michaelson’s family gathering!!! It just seems so lovely and wholesome!)
As for the romance, we have, once again, a grumpy x sunshine trope (which is apparently quite typical for Christmas romcoms, but still works every time).
Adam is Holly’s brother’s best friend who she crushed on hard in Middle and High School until he had to move away due to a scandal his father was involved in. Now, a decade later he’s back in town and while his billionaire status is new, his hate for Christmas is not. Enter our Sunshine Holly who begins showing the Scrooge the merits of the season.
Their relationship, while being pretty low stakes, was genuinely cute and I particularly liked how Adam does everything in his power to make Holly happy, even though it might have been stuff he’d hate.
The only downside was the miscommunication conflict. It was for a stupid reason and could have easily been avoided but fortunately it didn’t last long enough to make me get annoyed at the whole thing.
And everything ended on a high, thanks to an epilogue that has my heart!!!

I liked this boo I just didn’t love it. The heroine kind of rubbed me the wrong way and the characters seemed immature for being in their 30s. The love connection was good I enjoyed the romance but didn’t love the characters.
