Jessica Kallan and author, Ethan Miller, are together again—and right in the middle of another murder. The book tour for Ethan’s latest novel has ended with a week-long reunion and fundraising event at a small private women’s college. Who knew, such an innocent gathering, would end in murder?
4.5 stars Dead Write is a sequel to Write to Die, but works well as a standalone. I liked the first book a lot but enjoyed this one even more. The story takes place at a small fictional liberal arts college in Missouri. Jessica Kallan is a research assistant for a bestselling author, Ethan Miller. Ethan has been rekindling a relationship with his ex-wife, Constance, and agrees to lead a writing seminar at her alma mater as a favor to her.
However, from the beginning Jessica has had a feeling that something is off about Constance pushing for this stop on Ethan's long book tour. She is proven correct when a murder occurs and there are several suspects. Jess uses her research skills to conduct her own investigation into the murder. The author is able to skillfully tie everything together in a surprising way by the end of the book. I really hope there is a third book in this well-written mystery series.
