Beck ‘Atlas’ Crandall is a combat veteran, just like the majority of his club brothers that started Poseidon’s Warriors MC. A trained medic, it was his responsibility to head into missions in an effort to hopefully rescue those involved. Sadly, most ended up being recovery situations instead, which started causing him extreme mental duress. However, the last mission they were on, the one that had them all leaving once their time was up, pretty much sent him down a dark, twisted path. He’s awakened more times than he cares to admit sitting inside his closet, back against the wall, with his gun in hand. Only, he refuses to allow his brothers to find him like that, so when Poseidon mentions the possibility of him getting a service dog to help him on the rougher days, he practically leaps at the chance. He’ll try anything to appear normal once again, instead of a broken-down, former Navy SEAL who now helps run the club’s auto and bike shop.

He doesn’t expect her to worm her way into his life, but after several years of watching her during events and parties at the club, he notices that she’s spiralling and realizes that he might be able to help. That’s all he intended to do, but Fate had other plans.

Patsy Maddox, lifelong best friend to CeeCee Morgan O’Rourke, has grown used to being around the bikers. She’s never kept any secrets from CeeCee. Until now. How can she reveal her deep, dark secret about that terrible night without further losing her slight grasp on her sanity. Instead, an old issue that she thought she was long past dealing with, rears its ugly head once again. Now, she has her BFF as well as a broody, quiet biker on her to spill her guts. The only thing is, if she does, will everyone look at her differently? That’s her biggest fear—being thought of as less than. Too bad she’s got herself convinced that she’s already there.

Beck ' Atlas" Crandall is suffering from PTSD and it has gotten bad enough that he is getting a service dog. Once he gets Koba, everything changes and for the first time in a longtime he feels hope for his future and decides to act on it. Patsy Maddox has always caught his attention and he is ready to take his chance if she is interested.

Patsy has been carrying a secret that has been churning away at her guts and after seeing her therapist she starts taking steps at healing. She did not expect Atlas to ask her out and she finds she feels protected in a way she has never had before. Her past though is about to make an appearance and she knows the only way can get through the trauma this is causing is with Atlas and Koba by her side.

When I first started the book I was really confused because several chapters revolve around Roane so I thought that was the romantic lead. Once Patsy and Atlas get together the story flows better. Great chemistry between Atlas and Patsy is sizzling. I liked that both Patsy and Atlas have struggles and they have each other to lean on. Very excited for the next book.

Fantastic read

Another great addition to the Poseidons warriors.

This story is one that definitely touches your heart strings. As we watch the main couple struggle with their mental illnesses that we have come to accept over the past few book's, but in Atlas' world they manage to come out on top.

Darlene has outdone herself with this story.

best so far

Loved this book and I personally think it’s the best book in the series so far. The characters were charismatic and totally worked with the storyline. The storyline was intense in places as I have had friends with these problems so it talked to me. The book just kept me reading as I got involved with the characters and what they were overcoming and the phases that they had to overcome. Keep the next book like this and I have to read the next for more than 1 reason now as I want to know what will come and what happened to the protagonist in this story.

Atlas .. known as Beck Crandall ... secretary for the club , runs the auto body shop.... sadly suffers from PTSD. from a former mission when he was a Navy seal.... He's desperate to figure out how to cope. when his pres shares info about a possibility of getting a service dog ...he heads off to.... I think they were called the black tuxedo mc.... Nick and his crew raise and train service dogs and once Atlas meets Koba they form an amazing bond that does help. Once he starts feeling better his mind goes to Patsy. She's a young girl who's friends with Cee Cee and she has captured his attention.

Patsy we find has her own issues and so she also has PTSD.
All tho what first sent her down into the path towards ptsd, she has to a degree overcome ....she is now dealing with a new situation... when the two characters cross paths, Atlas is having his first appointment with his new psychiatrist. There starts their romance..........He's figuring out how to cope much better now that he has Koba his service dog. Meeting Koba has helped him immensely.

When a four legged ball of fur steps in to help the man heal, and they see Patsy at the same dr office they begin chatting....eventually he helps her to realize he wants her.... when the strong woman finally reaches out and tells Atlas her story... Koba also helps her to adjust and feel cared and loved .... These two halves , who are not broken, fit perfectly together.... and begin to mend one another with the help and Love and guidance from Koba.....Slowly their hearts begin to heal .... Dr Williams has suggested for Patsy to come forward at her job about what happened to her and then ... as with all stories of survival the bad guy returns but ... hahahahaa he is quickly taken down by a mighty Koba, the four legged fur bodyguard :) ........truly enjoyed this read... they get their hea ...as his brothers are getting and he is beginning to feel some normalcy to his life ....

Atlas is the Poseidon's Warriors member who has sustained the most emotional damage from their last mission before leaving the Navy. He has nightmares, sleep deprivation and depression. He finally decides to take steps towards healing. He visits the Black Tuxedos for a service dog to assist him at night. Nick Johnson, who trains many of the dogs, sees that one dog, Koba, immediately attaches himself to Atlas, and a bond is formed. Atlas immediately is better, due to the dog's presence at night. This improves his outlook to the extent that he is willing to try a relationship. Patsy, Ceecee's best friend, has been through a hell of her own. When they meet at their therapist's office, they find what they have in common, and address their mutual interest. Unfortunately, the person who attacked Patsy is too close and threatens her stability again. However, she now has the entire PWMC family in her corner, as well as the best dog ever.

It was great to see Atlas get some help in this one. Just getting Koba helped so much, the therapy more. I also thought it interesting the comment Atlas had for Patsy, it gave her something to think on when she was going through her own troubles. I loved how these 2 were able to talk about their troubles and loved how Atlas reacted to hearing Patsy's and how he treated her after. At no time did Patsy think he thought anything less of her and in fact he became someone she could lean on when things got tough. Loved how towards the end Patsy had so many people in her corner when she really needed it. You know these two are going to be fine going forward, happy to live their lives with all their friends and family.

Atlas, swoon worthy

Atlas has issues from the things he's seen. Patsy has issues from a chemical imbalance as well as a trauma she lived through. Separately, they both feel less than whole. They feel tortured, tormented and less than worthy of love.

What happens when a four legged ball of fur steps in to help the man heal? What happens when the strong woman finally reached out and tells her story? What happens when two halves , who totally are not broken, fit perfectly together? What happens when the heart heals everything, do you risk it or do you push it away?

Loved this and Darlene always finds a way to your heart.

4.5* Atlas' life shift

Atlas suffers from PTSD. He's desperate to figure out how to cope. Then he's told to get a service dog. Meeting Koba does help. Once he starts feeling better his mind goes to Patsy. She's a young girl who's captured his attention.

Patsy has her own issues and one is PTSD too. She's now dealing with a new situation when they cross paths while Atlas has his first appointment with the psychiatrist. There starts their romance.

They have a lot to work on. They also realize something special is going between them!

I loved and enjoyed this read! I can't wait for the next entry to the series.

Atlas’ World is the fifth book in Darlene Tallman’s Poseidon’s Warriors MC series. In this book, Ms. Tallman captures the romantic journey of two wounded souls--Patsy Maddox and Beck “Atlas” Crandall. Patsy survives a brutal rape. As she heals she suffers from PTSD and has an aversion to touch. Atlas is the sole survivor of his team as the result of the explosion of an RPG. He was severely burnt. Healed he returned home only to be rejected by his girlfriend. Reese reached out to him, and he became a member of Poseidon’s Warriors MC. He suffers from survivor’s guilt and PTSD. Destiny brings these two together. These two are attracted to each other. Will they be able to overcome their emotional wounds to find happiness? You must read this book to find out.

Like the other books in Ms. Tallman’s biker series, her readers continue to witness familial love, team camaraderie, romantic love, endurance, and healing. Once again, she masterfully crafted rich dialog, both conversational and internal monologues. Her descriptive scenes pull her readers’ attention into each scene. Can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

My favorite !!!

Darlene Tallman has hit it out the park and scored a home run with this new addition to her Poseidon's Warriors motorcycle club romance series! This story of Atlas's and Party's journey to love and healing. They both have PTSD from traumatic events. They both feel that they are too damaged by their experiences and not able to deserve the love they witness among their friends. Suddenly there is a new adorable character added to their lives who changes everything. Don't miss this emotion evoking book! It is my favorite of the series and I for one am going to miss the characters.

Excellent

I do believe that this is the best book of the whole series, so far. I really enjoyed the other ones but this one really impressed me. Yes, it is darker than the other ones in regards to PTSD, depression, death at one’s own hand and SA but it is handled very well. Definitely keep your triggers in mind around those topics but nothing is graphic or exploitative. This book was so good that I’m not sure how I’m going to get through the long wait for Speck’s book to come out next.

Emotional

I highly enjoyed Atlas & Patsy! They each have PTSD & are following steps to get and stay healthy. And the way they fit together to help, love, & support each other is emotionally satisfying!

There's also the scene stealing service dog, Koba, who is a marvelous personality & made me smile lots! And!!! Some surprise cameos also made me happy happy happy!! 😀

I love the care taken with this story, with Atlas & Patsy & their healing & relationship. Looking forward to the next story in this series!!

Great!

I chose this rating because this is actually a pretty good book. I really enjoyed most of all of the characters. This was a book of determination, protection, kindness, And getting control of your life back. I really enjoyed Atlas and Patsy story. I really think they made a really great couple because they both were dealing with things that had happened in their past which lead to them having PTSD. I really enjoy this story I think the author did an amazing job with this particular story. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers.

Atlas & Patsy

If there are any two people who are ment for one another it is definitely Patsy and Atlas. They both suffer from PTSD and I cried as their story unfolded. Koba was exactly what Atlas needed and I loved that not only was Koba there for him, but he took to Patsy as well. I couldn't be happier for Atlas and Patsy and their future together looks brighter than ever. I can't wait to see more of them in the future.

Atlas and Patsy

Really great story. I was very happy when Atlas decided to get a service dog and he and Koba make a great team, but was equally happy to see that he is just as awesome with Patsy. I was also very happy that Dr Williams suggested that Patsy inform her rape and abuse to her human resources department and well Mr Ashford treated this incident with the utmost care and urgency. Truly loved how Koba reacted towards Ralphie boy. Happy reading.

MC lite romance

Books like this one, I call mc lite.

The H has a PTSD history due to water and experience with horrifying children's death (his brother and then a military mission gone bad).... The h was sexually assaulted by a coworker she had no reason not to trust until it happened. They come together after the H gets a service dog that ends up saving the h later. Loved the book

Soo good!!!

This book takes a hard look at a lot of issues that can be triggers. But the awesomeness of this book is that they are honest about it. It's not a dirty secret! PTSD, depression, they are honest about what they have, what they are working thru! Loved Patsy and Atlas!!!

Difficult subject matter

Wiw, what a great story. Really impressed bi the way Darlene Tallman handled and treated such difficult subject natter. Atlas and Patsy are perfect for each other and I love that they aren't reliant on the other to "fix" them, they are already doing that for themselves. Their relationship helps but isn't what makes them better! Great story!

Kept me up all night reading

I am a huge fan of Darlene Tall man's MC universe and this book is no exception. The writing is spot on and you find yourself immersed in the lives of her
characters. Atlas and Patsy had real issues and they dealt with them in a realistic way, the successes and the fall backs. I am looking forward to the next installment of this series.

Very good love story!

I thought this story was so good. I really liked how the story had Atlas and Patsy each having PTSD for different reasons. My favorite character is Koba and how important he was to both Atlas and Patsy. Definitely recommend this book and the other books in this series! Cannot wait for Speck's story!

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Many people don't understand how PTSD affects people and the fact that it's not just military men and women who suffer this horrible aftereffects. Kudos to Darlene for giving an honest and uncompromising narration on the subject. I look forward to reading future books that she writes and will go back to read previously written books.

Atlas & Patsy

Ugh! I am so upset to find out what happened to Patsy. Add that on top of her existing struggles is just awful. She really doesn’t see how strong she is. To see Atlas gradually making his way back from the edge that he’s been clinging to is just amazing. I am so happy these two found each other. Tough story but so darn good.

Beautiful

We finally learn Patsy’s secret and Atlas finally begins to find peace from his PTSD. An intelligent dog, medication and a doctor helps them both find peace so they can move on and connect to one another - and when they do, they fall hard. I love how the author includes all the brothers and women we have previously met. Great escape!
