Killtown
One Road In, No Way Out
Kingston is a secluded East Texas town surrounded by a lake and giant pine trees. Nothing bad happens there because nothing ever happens. Except for Friday night football, there is not one thing worth getting excited about.
Until Ronnie Javorsky runs onto the field after the National Anthem and is shot to death by an unseen assailant.
But Ronnie is just the first victim. Because Kingston has become the sight of a competition far bloodier than the usual Friday night lights. A macabre game of murder has begun in the quaint town, a challenge to see which sadistic killer can rack up the most kills and do the most destruction before the sun rises.
All at the invitation of a mysterious figure known as the Host.
A pyromaniac, a monstrous axe-wielder, a black-robed killer, an insane clown, a novice, and a wannabe 'hero' descend on the tiny town intending to turn it blood-red. But why this town? Who is the masked Host?

About the author
Chad Lehrmann
20 books13 followersThe only child of a family that lived on a ranch in the Central Texas Countryside, Chad Lehrmann learned early on to use his imagination to entertain himself. Creating stories in his head and acting them out eventually led to him entertaining the idea to write stories. He began this process in his teens, but life got in the way. After eleven years in ministry, Chad became a public school teacher in College Station, Texas. Working with teenagers (and raising two of his own), he began to read young adult fiction like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. Combined with his love of the works of Stephen King, Chad began to recall those stories and ideas from his youth, but with a new perspective. Tired of explaining to his students that if he was not a teacher, he would be a writer, but doing nothing to validate that- he penned his first novel, The Sawyer Shepherd Chronicles: Rites of Passage. It would be the culmination of characters and story beats that had been germinating in his head for over twenty years. He hopes you will join him on this journey!
Chad still teaches at College Station High School, where he is currently the Psychology, Sociology, and Debate teacher. He is married and has two teenage daughters and as a family they love vacationing in the mountains (which are a strong inspiration for the stories he writes). He also has hobbies of woodworking and collecting action figures.

Killtown -
I purchased this book after watching a Tik Tok video made by the author. The video promised an exciting and thrilling book - I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!!!!
The writing was captivating and I was hooked.
The multiple characters and their dialect really helped me visualise each person.
Some books can be great reads but slow or drag in certain areas, this book did not.
This book was exactly what I thought it would be, but with a few twists and turns.
I enjoyed reading this book, and I could picture this being turned into a great film!
The book is entertaining, thrilling and funny at times.
I highly recommend this book and I look forward to reading more of this authors books.

This book was very well written. Held my interest and hard to put down.
It had enjoyable characters, I think in these kinds of books you need to care about what is happening to the characters and Chad Lehrmann managed to achieve that for his readers.
You think you know what you are getting when you see HORROR as a genre. The creepy factor was definitely there but not what I expected at all. The survival horror aspect was awesome but not what I was expecting.
High octane, something around every corner…. literally.
It had enjoyable characters, I think in these kinds of books you need to care about what is happening to the characters and Chad Lehrmann managed to achieve that for his readers.

Killtown is dark book. The tension was high, and some of the emotions were raw. It's a high intensity read the entire way through.
The climax was all you could hope for. Shocking and insane in the best possible way.
I really loved the atmosphere the author created. The descriptions and way this was written really lends to the readers ability to picture everything in their mind.
I highly recommend this page-turner, it was one I didn’t want to put down and wish I could read for the first time, all over again.

Great book!
Loved it! Great book! A town with a bunch of secrets. Bunch of killers in a small town and the person in charge has their heart on revenge! Good author, I will read more by him. He does make sure everything makes sense. Also, I loved the surprise ending!

Don’t expect to sleep tonight!
Horror at its best. A small town is assumed to be safe. Nothing ever happens. Six man football on Friday night is the most excitement you get…..until one Friday night. Highly recommend for those with a strong heart.

A chilling and thrilling novel.
For the long dark nights ahead, this is the ideal book to be tucked up in bed with.
Lehrmann writes about darkness of the spirit, examining fallibility, frailty and weakness.

Great job with building the energy and suspense with plenty of twists, turns, and surprises. You'll love trying to figure out where the real evil is lurking.

I heard about this book from a video on Tiktok the author made and it immediately piqued my interest. I am not typically a huge horror fan (think classical horror), but I love psychological thrillers/suspense and this book falls under that umbrella for me. Yes, it is horror, but it is the best kind of horror in my opinion. When I tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I truly mean it. Killtown is 160 pages of a purely entertaining rollercoaster ride. You get to see multiple POVs from lots of characters which I thought added to the story in a significant way. I loved the writing, particularly in scenes such as the clown's entrance at the bar, Andy's last appearance, and the church battle. I was able to figure out who the mastermind behind the game was before the big reveal, but it didn't take anything away from the story like it usually does for me. Knowing who set it up just heightened the experience in being able to see their dual motivations and hidden meanings in their actions. While I may have predicted who called everyone to Killtown, there were multiple instances throughout this book that made me audibly gasp at the wild plot turn... which is something I rarely ever do when I'm reading. These subplots kept me just as intrigued as the main plot line and I seriously could not put this book down, another thing that is unusual for me. I highly recommend this book even if you may not typically be a fan of horror.
