As Lam and the Angels continue the mission that her father started, Gus tells the story of a man who lost everything, and the one person who deemed him worth saving.
The best-selling creator duo of the last 25 years, writer SCOTT SNYDER and artist GREG CAPULLO, present a new blockbuster series--WE HAVE DEMONS! Years in the making, this title is bursting at the seams with epic, character-driven action for teens and adults alike!

Scott Snyder is the Eisner and Harvey Award winning writer on DC Comics Batman, Swamp Thing, and his original series for Vertigo, American Vampire. He is also the author of the short story collection, Voodoo Heart, published by the Dial Press in 2006. The paperback version was published in the summer of 2007.
It's good, but mainly because the art is good. Snyder takes the story in an interesting direction but forgets that you need the characters to act like real humans.
But. There was a decent twist at the end and (like I mentioned) the art is so very pretty to look at, so I'll be there for the next issue to see if Snyder is taking this somewhere cool.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
ANOTHER DELIGHT! The second volume provides the missing pieces, thereby completing the story Lam started in the first volume. Even though the two narratives come from two extremely different characters, it still gels well and makes a cohesive reliable background. I'm invested and fighting on the side of the glories (IYKYK).
I have a feeling that I'm going to hate the next issue because HOW CAN YOU WRAP UP SUCH A GREAT STORY IN ONLY THREE ISSUES? Come on, this ought to be at least a six-volume series.
And here we have yet another Scott Snyder Comixology series I have become obsessed with and have to wait for issue by issue for. I should really know by now I only should read comic series if they're complete huh. Basically, Lam is training with the Glories and they are heading the source her father pinpointed that should have more Halo to create new blades for them to fight the demons with. But when their plane is ambushed mid-journey, they have to assess that maybe someone in their midst has had their loyalties have changed. The art in this series, as I commented on in my review of issue one, is great. The story is really enjoyable and I'm excited to see how this is going to wrap up in the next issue, especially with the cliffhanger we just got.
But what is faith? I mean when you get down to it. Is it a belief system? A leap? What causes the chemical reaction that makes Halo light up? Cash and I discussed it many times over the years. Often over a glass of wine, more often, while wiping off demon blood. He believed it was a conviction. For me, though...it was always more of a feeling.
When a new Scott Snyder series drops I tend to sit up and listen.
This series is another ComiXology original and is being released exclusively by Amazon (who recently took over ComiXology).
Ancient forces of Good and Evil. Demons that need slaying by a select band of Demon Hunters. A young girl whose father hid his true calling until his untimely death throws her into the deep end. Oh. and a side kick called Gus, who I can tell is going to be a fascinating part of the story.
This second issue provides more background to the heroes of the piece, the glories. The warriors wielding blades made from Halo, used to cut down any demons in their path. Their numbers, however, are dwindling as blades are broken as there is no new Halo to replace them.
Taking Lam into their midst, they are trying to train her in the ways of Halo and how to activate her unique blade, made by her father to pit her prosthetic arm. However, having faith is not something that comes easy to her.
Another great issue. Lots of action, twists and turns. 5 stars again. Now I must wait until the next issue drops!
The second issue is told from a different point of view and is harder to relate to. It also seats more into superhero territory. There is a nice tribute to a classic scene from "the thing" and a nice surprise at the end.
I am really enjoying this book so far. Artwork is great especially the horn demons. The story is a fresh take on good and evil. The action and suspense so far has made this a real page turner.
I like the idea of “We Have Demons” the concept is an original idea. It's different than anything I've read before. 🤔 well, maybe its kinda like “Spawn”? But who doesn't like Spawn?
3.5. Still enjoying the story, but the Halo female-bodied people are a bit too fetishized in some panels for my liking. Like, everyone is wearing tight bodysuits. But it's EXTRA on them. It kinda distracts from the rest of it.
Art, excitement, wit: it's here and it's entertaining. The ancient story of good and evil, godfolk and demonfolk. Halo and Horn. It's crafted to a degree that enthralls.
Unfortunately, this is a story about faith in humans, with demons aplenty, and no God to father those that want to make the world a better place and make eternity a home for the weary. Truth and Faithfulness are used interchangeably throughout scripture but in this tale, Faith is about the individual's Truth, different from person to person, as opposed to Faith in a Truth that applies to all life.
I'll be more giving in rating Snyder's story; it's his to tell how he wants. I only caution the easily influenced, those that create religion around Disney castles, Harry Potter magic, and the Skywalker Force that is Awoken, to not run with Snyder's mythology as gospel. Hopefully, Lam won't be a twist on Jesus' Lamb. This is a story, not a history book, prophecy book, or scripture, though it definitely preaches a lot.
With the demonfolk attacks, I am reminded of Top Cow's The Darkness series: chaotic foul-mouthed little creatures, laying waste. The art is very good and the tale is generally exciting.
A fun second volume. Again, the main draw here is Greg Capullo's awesome pencils but the world Scott is creating is intriguing and I'm interested to see where it goes.
Another great issue, this is what Snyder excels at. Great characters with good dialogue and not a messy convulted plot. The Liam background. The fight on the plane. The ending. All great stuff.
Good foreshadowing, but the payoff was too soon. Nice backstory added to the tale all over. I’ll stick with the story as long as it is this good. Way too much reliance on cursing, tho. Overdone.
How can this be a 3 issue series???? I need more Lam and Gus in my life! Seeing the story from Gus' perspective was great. How we all have to fight to show good over the easy bad.
This is such a great series. A little crazy and over the top, maybe, but it doesn’t take itself too seriously, which keeps it funny amid all the action. I love the characters, the plot, and can’t wait to see where it’s going.
The artwork here is fantastic. The demons look so good and the action is fast. This volume shares some light on the back story of the principal characters and ends in a stunning cliffhanger. Packs a lot in a small volume.
