This was a lovely follow on from the previous book in this series. It was so lovely to return to all the characters in this series. This time it dealt with finding the right life partner and speed dating. It was funny at times and interesting. I loved returning to this on end hope there will be more to follow. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Another great read from Hobman as we return to Skye and see familiar faces from previous novels. You certainly can be a newcomer to Hobman’s books with this one, not needing to read the other stories. Yet, I thought it was lovely to reminisce about the previous novels I have read already, making this definitely feel like I community I knew about already.

In this story, Hobman explores parenting and broken families. Caitlin made the decision to be a single parent and has not had any company whilst raising her daughter. Over the years, Caitlin has got used to the judgemental comments received about her decisions and this is emotionally exemplified in the opening chapter in the scene with Caitlin and her mother. I really sympathised with Caitlin and, as the story progressed, admired her strength in character and determination to do right by her daughter.

Yet, Caitlin starts to yearn for some company and is persuaded by her friends to get back on the dating scene. Rejecting apps in favour of meeting someone in person is equally fraught with disaster, showing the reality of someone trying to start a new relationship in a world where we seem to naturally want to hide behind our phones. These moments were entertaining in the story, particularly when Caitlin tries her hand at speed dating. However, it turns out that love is not necessarily far from home.

I enjoyed how Hobman does not make it too obvious in the beginning who Caitlin will establish a relationship with. This made the book more interesting as it would appear that both male characters in the story offer equally appealing security. Yet, as we learn more about Caitlin and what she wants in life, it is soon apparent that her choice comes into doubt. I liked seeing this transition and transformation, whilst eagerly waiting for Caitlin to finally get her deserved happy ever after.

This was a heart-warming story that I really enjoyed. Blended families and trying to make the right parenting decisions feature as the central theme to the story and I think many readers will understand Caitlin’s choices. All the characters are likeable and I appreciated how there were two love choices seeming equally appealing until a deciding moment changes Caitlin’s opinion.

With thanks to Boldwood books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Lisa had me drawn into this book from the first few pages, I was really drawn to Caitlin as a character and was ready to see where her ‘finding love’ adventure could lead. I have to say I changed my mind on who she should end up with a few times throughout the book but I am so glad with how it ended. A little pre-warning though people, this book will make you hungry! How I would love a homemade chunk of shortbread while writing this…

I think Sophie was my favourite character though, she is just the absolute cutest and some of the things she came out with just had me wanting to scoop her up and give her a cuddle! Her relationship with Grace was also really lovely and heartwarming to see - in fact Grace would probably be my second favourite character. Oh who am I kidding, pretty much all of the characters were amazing apart from a couple who shall remain nameless (if you’ve read the book then I think you’ll know who I mean).

There really is something magical about laying outside on a clear evening and looking up at the stars, something that I really don’t do anywhere near enough. Lisa does a fantastic job of capturing and recreating this feeling and I could just imagine that I was there. This is definitely going on my ‘things to do this year’ list!

The book had me feeling all the emotions, I was near to tears at one point but I have to say, the last couple of sentences had me properly chuckling 🤭 *Steve* - read the book and you’ll know what I mean! But for now I’m going to shh so I don’t spoil any surprises!

What a corker, I was really looking forward to this one as I love trying out authors who I haven't read much from before and this book did not disappoint. We meet single Mum Caitlin and her daughter Grace, as Grace turns 13 her Mum decides it might be time to start thinking about her love life again.

This story follows Caitlin as she embarks on some single nights to see if she can find someone to light that spark in her again. These adventures are filled with moments to make you laugh and cringe in equal measure. I think the author has perfectly created the environment in which she is writing about and it made me chuckle as reminded me of stories from friends with similar experiences.

As I read I enjoyed the fun element of the dating alongside the day to day highs and lows of life including a few unexpected surprises and curve balls. I loved the characters of Caitlin and Grace as they searched for the perfect balance and addressed her life choices in the lead up to the moment that she is in. I found this was a story I loved to come back to and I looked forward to sneaking in another 5 mins wherever I could to keep reading.

I can't wait to read more by this author as this book held my attention beginning to end and I could easily visualise the story as it continue to unfold.

Nice, cosy, heartwarming: this is Wishing Under a Starlit Skye for you.
Lisa Hobman takes us back to Glentorrin and this time we get to know Caitlin Fraser and her daugher Grace (and also Cleo the Yorkie Poo) better. Lovely how we also get to know Archie better and what a nice character development he has, too. Though we are brought back to the same setting and characters we've met before, this book can be read as a stand alone as well, but be assured that you'll want to go back to the previous ones in order to read them all.
A very cute read, can't wait for the next instalment!

I fell in love with this book, such a gorgeous, heartwarming romance. It's the first book I've read by Lisa, definitely not the last, I've already downloaded her others from KU.

Beautifully written, with characterisations that were relatable, I loved the relationship between Caitlin & daughter Grace.

The descriptions of Glentorrin were idyllic, the storyline captivating, compelling you to keep turning the pages.

And who doesn't love a happy ending?

Many thanks to Rachel's Random Resources for my tour spot.

Loved the beautiful setting and characters in this story. Caitlin and her daughter Grace are used to being on their own, Caitlin is approaching 40 and decides it’s time to date again and goes to a singles night where she meets Lyle and starts seeing him, at the same time she becomes aware of Archie a local shop owner and feels an attraction to him. Caitlin has to decide who is right for her and Grace, the course of true love never runs smoothly or does it. I couldn’t put this book down till the end and even then I didn’t want it to finish.

It’s always such a pleasure reading Lisa’s gorgeous books, it’s a perfect getaway from life escaping to Skye and spending time with her lovely characters in the beautiful community she creates.
It was brilliant finding out Caitlin’s story and to see her attempt to find love.
Some amusing moments and some emotional ones too, it kept me intrigued and entertained throughout.
Definitely time well spent reading this glorious book and I’m already looking forward to my next visit to Skye!

This is the second book I have read set on Skye by this author and I have to say both have been gorgeous reads. The author does a recap with some of the characters, but this latest one could also be read as a stand-alone.

Caitlin and her daughter Grace are two strong and lovely characters. Caitlin has lived on Skye since just before Grace was born. Grace's father is not on the scene and the relationship mum and daughter have is amazing. They are supportive of each other. Friends have been pushing Caitlin towards trying dating, something she hasn't done since before Grace, and Grace thinks it's a great idea.

What better than being in a relationship with Grace's best friends Dad, Lyle. He sounds like such a nice man, supportive of his daughter and such a nice man. Caitlin however mentions how Grace came to be and it doesn't go down as well as she hoped. Not everyone knows about Grace's conception, but then it's not something that Caitlin or Grace have spoken to others about.

This is a fabulous book that I read in one sitting, it was definitely one of those books where I kept saying "I'll just read one more chapter"... and then just kept going!

Being part of a family or choosing to start a family is different for many people, Caitlin is one that decided what she wanted and has done an amazing job by herself, much to the disgust of her mother.

The island community of Skye is a wonderful idyllic sounding one that the author has created. The supporting cast for this story are a wonderful bunch, there when you need them and also to give the odd honest opinion when it is most needed.

As the story gradually led into the main section, it is friends that give Caitlin a nudge, but it is ultimately up to Caitlin to do something about it. This is not just a simple and straightforward romance where two people meet and that's it, no, this is a story that throws up some really interesting scenarios and it makes for such an addictive read.

A story that fans of contemporary fiction and romance will adore. Not the standard romance, or family set up and I think this is what makes this so good, it has a realistic feel to it. It is one I would definitely recommend.

I first discovered Lisa Hobman via Kindle Unlimited. There were a number of her books on there which I thoroughly enjoyed. It wasn’t until a character, from those earlier books, appeared in the Skye series, that I made the connection. I can honestly say that I am a fan!
I was thrilled to discover that this book was going to finally tell Caitlin’s story, couple that with learning a little more about Archie Sutherland, and this may be my favourite in this series.
Caitlin has been a wonderful character, so far, and her kindness has proved to be infectious as each book has brought newcomers to Glentorrin, who have been quickly charmed by a variety of delicious baked goods. Archie has also featured in the previous stories as his outdoor clothing, campsite and computer wizardry have all been essential to the day to day in this idyllic village.
It’s difficult not to be drawn to Caitlin’s character, and as we learn more about her childhood, her parents, and Grace’s father, it’s obvious why she has remained single for so long. Through the local singles scene, Caitlin and Archie strike up a lovely friendship. They’ve been acquaintances for years, but neither of them really knows the other. As their friendship grows, it’s clear that no matter what, Caitlin can always rely on Archie and vice versa.
It’s through Grace, that Caitlin finds herself in a relationship with Lyle Budge. Lyle is the father of Grace’s best friend, and their relationship moves quickly, but as the synopsis explains Lyle is not all he seems to be.
I particularly enjoyed learning about Caitlin’s choices which led to Grace being born, and Archie’s secret being shared. My mind did leap ahead, but I’m glad to say that my vivid imagination fell wide of the proverbial mark.
As is usual, with Lisa’s writing, this story is filled with well developed characters and plenty of regulars. I thoroughly enjoy a series where familiar characters feature, and this is a great example. Glentorrin is a destination that I would happily escape to. The folks are friendly, and the bakery is sublime.

Wishing Under a Starlit Skye written by Lisa Hobman started out as a lovely story about Caitlin Fraser, a single mother, a teenage daughter and second chances at romance and happiness. The story is set in Scotland on the beautiful Isle of Skye where Cait owns and runs her own bakery as well has raised her 12 and soon to be 13-year-old daughter Grace. Cait has decided it is time to find some to share her life with and decides to start dating … but where to start. She really wants to avoid dating apps and decided to try singles night and speed dating. The first man she starts dating is Lyle, Grace’s best friends Dad. All seems perfect until Cait’s friend Archie keeps showing up at the strangest time. Archies turns to Cait for some advice when a surprise from his past appears.

I was drawn to this book because I not only been to Scotland, but I have also visited the lovely Isle of Skye and I have eaten fish and chips in Portree .. there were a lot of familiar places mentioned. You can also tell that Lisa Hobman is a fan of the TV series Outlander .. not only is it mentioned several times, but her main characters nickname is also the same as the actress that plays Claire. I liked the premise of this story .. second chances, friendship, romance and stepping outside your comfort zone. You how there are books that you don’t want to end and then there are those books that should have already ended .. that is how I felt about this book.

I would have given these a solid 3 stars but the one thing that is like nails on a chalk board is the grammatical error of “ME AND ..” .. while I know my grammar is not perfect I do know where the “ME” should go .. I counted 15 of these errors ..

me and my baby
me and Cora
me and Cora
me and Cora
me and Evin
Me and Archie
Me and Evin
me and Grace
me and Lyle
me and Cora
me and my daughter

⛺⛺🔭The perfect family, however it's created: gem of a heartwarming story🌌

Author Lisa Hobman has a winning combination here! The heartwarming mother-daughter closeness, the search for romance, the supporting small town community of friends and the lovely setting on the Isle of Skye all come together in a great, sweet story. Much more than in some of her recent novels set on Skye, Hobman has included the unique sights and dramatic landscapes of Skye as an active backdrop and I loved all of the references to the Quirang, the Black Cuillins, the Fairy Pools, Dunvegan Castle, the Portree waterfront, the clear and starry skies, etc. Made me want to go back for another, longer visit for more exploring!

Caitlin, the strong female lead, decided in her late twenties that she wanted to be a mother and made it happen. Now her adoring daughter Grace is on the verge of her teen years and Caitlin has decided she can think about finding romance after focusing for so long on her daughter and her business. Her venture into dating brings some suitors and some surprises but it also brings her closer to Archie, a kind, generous bachelor neighbor who she starts seeing in a different light. When Archie is knocked sideways by his past catching him unawares, Caitlin and Grace find themselves stretching out their hands to help the man who never hesitates to aid others.

I loved the storyline, the pace and Hobman's easy writing style. Such a lovely tale of small community life and the challenges of putting oneself out there in the search for love. I can't get enough of this series and hope Hobman keeps returning to little Glentorrin and its convivial residents.

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Heart-warming, comforting and gloriously uplifting, Lisa Hobman hits all the right notes with her latest novel, Wishing Under a Starlit Skye.

The time has come for single mother Caitlin to dip her toes into the dating pool again. With her daughter about to become a teenager and her friends all settling down, Caitlin is determined to take a shot at happiness and find her own Mr Right, but she absolutely refuses to go down the route of dating apps and instead hopes to meet her match at singles event. Sadly, however, Prince Charming seems keen to give these events a very wide berth. However, she does find herself crossing paths with fellow villager and astronomy buff Archie Sutherland, who has secrets of his own…

When her daughter’s best friend’s father Lyle Budge asks her out to dinner, Caitlin is immediately intrigued. Charming, handsome and someone who has her daughter’s seal of approval, Lyle seems to tick all the right boxes – until Archie makes a shocking discovery that forces her to see Lyle in a completely different light. Is Lyle the man for her? Or has Caitlin been looking for happiness in all the wrong places?

Is romance on the cards for Caitlin? Is the man of her dreams out there? Or has she missed her chance at happiness?

Lisa Hobman’s Wishing Under a Starlit Skye is a delightful romantic tale readers are going to love! Warm-hearted, witty and enjoyable, Wishing Under a Starlit Skye is an engaging, emotional and entertaining read with a wonderful heroine, charismatic heroes, eccentric characters and plenty of humour and heart to keep readers riveted to the page.

A lovely romantic escape perfect for chasing the winter blues away, Lisa Hobman’s Wishing Under a Starlit Skye delivers on all counts.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you #netgalley and #boldwoodbooks for allowing me to read this ARC. What a wonderful book, full of heart and emotion. We meet single mum Caitlin or Cait to her friends who has a 13 year old daughter Grace. Her mother doesn't always agree with her daughters decisions and as such has a big fall out. She reminded me of Hyacinth from Keeping up Appearances. Caitlin and her daughter Grace share a very tight bond and have no secrets between each other, which as a single mum myself felt real and true. Being an unconventional family is something I really do connect with as a person and the way this is portrayed really spoke to me. Friends do really become a family you never expected to have. Jules, Morag and Ruby the ex Hollywood actress feature beautifully and demonstrate true and honest friendship, love and care for each other. After Caitlins mother passed away she sold her parents B & B after redecorating it and used the money to improve her own life. She runs her own bakery and is an amazing cake maker. Now that her daughter is older, she realises that she should pay more attention to her love life and starts going to singles nights and speed dating, whilst avoiding dating apps. Being on that boat myself I couldn't agree more on apps and dating these days is quite something else and not in a good way. She starts dating Lyle, single dad to Cora who is Grace's best friend. Handsome Archie Sutherland also presents himself as a very suitable candidate. He is supportive and caring and so helpful and kind. With many twists and turns, a few gorgeous dogs and lots of things to think about this makes for a very wonderful and relevant read. My only niggle was that at 13 Grace still needed to have an adult looking after her at all times, it can be overlooked as it ties in with the storyline. Can't wait for the next Lisa Hobman book and this isn't even released yet. #blogtour

I really enjoyed being back in the fictional village of Glentorrin once more which is a warm, friendly and supportive community. It was good to spot some familiar faces from previous books but this is easily read as a standalone novel as the focus is on Caitlin and her quest for romance. The gorgeous descriptions of the island landscape made me want to visit Skye again. We did manage a day trip on a gloriously sunny day last year and this book has really whet my appetite to go for a longer visit.

I particularly liked the focus on family in this book. Caitlin's situation with her daughter was quite unusual and sensitively explored. I thought it was great that she was determined to make the best decisions for herself and Grace. The strong bonds between mother and daughter were clear and lovely to read about. The whole issue of what makes a family and what is important in a family unit is a feature of the book and it's clear that love and stability are essential. The bonds between mother and daughter were clear and lovely to read about.

As Caitlin dips her toe back into the world of dating (as well as the Fairy Pools!) there are a variety of potential suitors for her. There are plenty of missed opportunities, misunderstandings and bad timings which make you wonder if Caitlin will ever get together with her perfect man. As a reader you know exactly who that should be and when she does, you can't help but be delighted for her.

This was a very entertaining and warm-hearted romance. It was quite funny in parts, particularly when it came to what some of the children said, but was also rather emotional sometimes. The cleverly written epilogue made me smile! I really enjoyed Wishing Under a Starlit Skye and hope that the author has more visits to Glentorrin planned.

Whisked away to the beautiful island of Skye we catch up with some of the characters who featured in the previous book but especially get to know more about Caitlin Fraser, who runs the Glentorrin bakery, and her daughter Grace, with their adorable Yorkie Poo, Cleo. After many years of being a single mum, Caitlin decides its time for her to, tentatively, try out the complicated world of dating however, her forays into the singles market are fraught with uncertainty and not without drama.

Caitlin and Grace are both really lovely people, both strong and decisive and the lovely mother/daughter relationship they have only adds more warmth to this feel-good story. The perils and pitfalls of finding the right person are handled sensitively with just the right amount of humour, which made me smile, but underneath is a sensitive story about parenthood and what it means to develop a deep and meaningful friendship with the right person.

Wishing under an Island Skye is perfect escapism for these grey days of winter. It's beautifully written with a set of lovely characters who find their way into your heart, so much so I read the story in one sitting completely lost in the world which this author has created so lovingly.

Just to point out that whilst I hadn't read the previous book, Dreaming under an Island Skye, it didn't spoil my enjoyment, in fact, I've made a note to go back to the first book to learn more about the characters who make an appearance in this lovely story.

Lisa Hobman's village of Glentorrin on the Isle of Skye has become one of my favorite fictional places to visit. With each new book set there I feel like I'm catching up with old friends, meeting a few new ones, and welcomed back with warm hugs. It was fun catching up with couples from the first two books and meeting new villagers with future story potential.

I've been looking forward to Caitlin's story and it did not disappoint. I loved the development of the characters in this book as well as the evolution of Caitlin's relationships. Her forays into dating at 40 were frequently humorous, sometimes awkward, and very relatable. I enjoyed the twists and turns her journey took. Of course, nothing you do in Glentorrin is done in a vacuum which means everyone feels they have a stake in the outcome of Caitlin's new adventures, including her friends and her 13-year-old daughter, Grace. All of it comes from a place of love though and they all have Caitlin's best interests at heart.

If you enjoy close-knit communities, mature characters, plenty of humor and heart, some surprising twists, and well-deserved happy endings, check out Wishing Under a Starlit Skye. It can be enjoyed as a standalone but I also recommend Dreaming Under an Island Skye and Under an Italian Skye. Characters from both of the earlier books figure prominently in this one.

Thanks to Boldwood for the advanced copy of this title in return for an honest review.

I have recently found Lisa’s books and think her writing is glorious; simple and light-hearted and heart-warming, so I was excited to have been given an early copy of this new book. Anything set in Scotland is an instant win for me.

I really liked the main character of Caitlin and she is living my dream of running a bakery in a quaint village. The secondary characters were all well-rounded and fleshed out, and each had their own purpose in the story and I liked them all. Except for one - I won’t say who - but I really didn’t like them (it should be quite clear upon reading who that is). It takes a good writer to make me really despise a fictional character, but she’s achieved it with this one. I’ve always been rather wary of constantly positive people - in reality and in fiction - but there was a nice balance of everything humanity brings.

It’s warming and joyful and heartbreaking and maddening and funny; it has a bit of everything. It touches on different subjects like artificial insemination, divorce, relationships, death, failure - but it is not morose in any way; in fact it’s very affirming.

It is such a happily-ever-after book, with a storyline I wish I was living (just maybe not all of it).

It was an absolute pleasure to return to Glentorrin in Lisa Hobman's latest book set in this beautiful Skye village. It doesn't matter at all if you haven't read any of the other books (although I recommend them highly as they're great) because all the characters are well explained in this and you get introduced to some new ones as the focus of this story.
Caitlin runs a very successful bakery, which means the book has delicious treats galore and is a foodie-heaven. This book explores her story more and that of her daughter, Grace. As Grace turns 13 Caitlin feels more that she needs to do more for herself and begins to dip her toe back in to dating. Many fun and crazy situations occur on this journey and an unexpected friendship blossoms with Archie, the village camp site owner, as they both embark on speed dating and singles nights.
Meanwhile, a certain amount of shocks and upheavals bring difficult decisions and a lot of soul-searching for all involved. Life definitely brings many chances of happiness, often in the unlikeliest of situations, and following your heart is key as the characters here discover.
I really loved this sweet story and the emotional rollercoaster of character development. The astronomy theme throughout was a lovely touch and really brought the right balance of tenderness and connection.
A bundle of Scottish island comfort for chilly days!

This is a wonderful return to the small village of Glentorrin on Skye, where Caitlin owns the local bakery. As a single mother and business owner, she's always felt too busy for dating, but now that her daughter Grace is turning 13, she finally feels ready. But she's not into the dating sites and decides to go to a local singles night, which literally starts off with a bang when she gets knocked off her feet by longtime friend Archie. When they realize they're both looking for dates they decide to help each other out. Caitlin starts dating the father of Grace's best friend, but the more serious they get, the more Lyle gets jealous of her friendship with Archie. Could she be falling for the boy-next-door?
I read the previous book about Reid and Jules and I was happy to catch up with them in this book and get closer to some of the other secondary characters in town. Archie was the perfect laid back caring man that everyone in town can't help but love. I really loved his character while Caitlin was just average for me. I'm hoping Dexter gets his own book soon?!!
I received a complimentary advance reader copy of this book. The views and opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.

This is an absolutely gorgeous read
In which single Mum, Caitlin, feels the need
To explore the possibilities and take a chance
On, at last, finding her true love and romance.

Caitlin gives the thought of Apps a huge, "No!"
And decides to give face to face singles events a go.
That's where she meets up with Lyle and Archie, too,
Both Skye residents and single - will either be true?

Caitlin's daughter, Grace, and her best friend
Are hoping it'll be Lyle with whom she'll end.
He's her best friend's single Dad
But his reaction to news of Grace's Dad is really bad!

Archie lives in the same village as Cait
And into her bakery will often come and wait
As their friendship develops he has shocking news so
It is off to Caitlin for advice he'll go.

It is a fun, laugh out loud romance
With many folks to care for if you give it a chance
And one who I really learnt to despise
As his true self he showed and Cait realises.

Get ready for astronomy and star lit skies
With friendship, community and close family ties.
There are parties, get togethers and many a surprise
Before Caitlin acknowledges with whom her future lies.

For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you,
I throughly enjoyed reading it and this is my honest review.

You can always rely on Lisa Hobman to pen a fabulous read!

Thirteen years ago, Caitlin Fraser made the decision to go it alone and have a child. With her daughter, Grace, heading toward her teenage years and her friends all settling into relationships, Caitlin finally feels it’s time to explore the world of dating. Deciding you want a relationship and actually finding a partner are two very different things – as Caitlin is about to find out!

Here is an author whose love of my home country shines through all of her books; this one will no doubt have scores of people planning a trip to Skye. With a fabulous storyline packed with great characters, this is a marvellous tale which had me invested from the word go. I couldn’t find fault even if I wanted to. Everything about this book seems very real; the dialogue is what you would expect but, for me, the introduction of Sophie just tipped things over the edge. What a cutie! Terrifically entertaining and a wonderful read. A perfect title and a gorgeous cover all add up to the perfect package. Highly recommended and well worth all five sparkling stars!

What a fabulous book Wishing Under a Starlit Skye is. Superbly strong characters that are expertly brought to life by the author, Lisa Hobman.

The main character Caitlin is a single mother to her daughter Grace, she decides she really would like a partner. The time feels right. How on earth is she going to find a suitable other half on the Isle of Skye? thus she embarks on a few disastrous “singles nights” Could the man of her dreams be right under her nose after all?

I loved the beautiful descriptions of the Skye scenery. I spent three years living on Skye and boy what a life it was. This book brought back some perfect family memories for me. Lisa really brings the whole Island to life. Her characters have flaws, don’t we all and this only helps to make this book and its story much more believable. The relationships between family and friends are awesome and wonderfully warm. We go on an emotional journey with Caitlin and I was willing her to choose the right man. One is so right and boy is the other one so wrong!

A beautifully heart-warming story that left me with a warm fuzzy feeling. All will be well in the world of love after all.

Wishing under a Starlit skye by Lisa Hobman.
Glentorrin bakery owner, and lone parent, Caitlin Fraser, is single and finally ready to mingle. With her daughter, Grace, about to become a teenager, and her friends all settling down, Caitlin decides she deserves a shot at happiness too. Resisting the pull of dating apps, Caitlin embarks upon a series of disastrous singles events where she bumps into fellow villager, and astronomy buff, Archie Sutherland, who is nursing his own past secrets. When Grace’s best friend’s father, handsome Lyle Budge, asks Caitlin to dinner, things progress quickly and she has a taste of what their future as a family could be, much to both their daughters delight! But when Archie makes a shocking discovery, and he turns to Caitlin for help, she soon discovers Lyle isn’t the sharing type, meaning prickly ultimatums loom for everyone. Will wishing upon the stars over Glentorrin help Caitlin to figure out her way forward? Or is her hunt for romance like a once in a lifetime comet, easily missed in the blink of an eye?
A very good read with good characters. I loved the cover. 4*.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dreaming Under a Starlit Skye, so I was delighted to be invited onto the tour for another visit to Glentorrin. You do glimpse some familiar characters but this novel centres on Caitlin's quest for romance. She is at a point in her life where her daughter has grown a little more independent and she is ready to meet some new people. You find out quite soon that Caitlin is an independent thinker and that family means everything to her. In fact, creating a family has been a driving force.
You can totally picture the community of Glentorrin and the characters who live there. As before, I found it to be an appealing place with much to offer and felt welcomed in. Not everyone is without fault, of course, so Caitlin has to tread carefully. Families are not always conventional but the emotions at their centre rang true. This is an enjoyable and entertaining read with a glorious setting and some surprises along the way.

In short: Friends and family are everything
Thanks to the publisher for a copy of the book

Wishing Under A Starlit Skye is a novel set in the
beautifully portrayed countryside of Scotland where we follow the story of Caitlin who at 28 decided to have a baby by sperm doner against everyones wishes! We then follow
her life thirteen years later with her wonderful daughter Grace and her quest to find love at forty!

The book is full of wonderful, loving characters that are full of life and you end up feeling like one of the local residents of Glentorrin yourself. You will not only fall in love with Caitlin's character, you will also fall in love with every character (except a minority *cough* Lyle *cough*) that you meet along the way too! It's a beautiful escape full of emotion and humour.

It's a cute, emotional story that will give you all the reels and I'm super happy to have been given the wonderful opportunity by @bookandtonic, @netgalley and @lisahobmanauthor to read an advanced reader copy of this wonderful piece of writing!

Thank you Lisa Hobman, Rachels Random Resources and Boldwood books for gifting me a digital copy of Wishing under a Starlit Skye in exchange for an honest review; in wishing under a starlit Skye we follow Caitlin the bakery owner and solo parent from Glentorrin. As her daughter Grace is on the cusp of being a teenager Caitlin makes the bold choice of putting herself out there and try dating. Not trusting the dating apps leads her to the local singles events with a very mixed bag of results.
Overall I enjoyed this book; the characters are warm and felt real. I despised Lyle; he made me uncomfortable throughout and made me feel sorry for his daughter. I loved the ending; I did feel like I missed a step with potentially a previous book as there seemed to be a lot of connections that I couldn’t quite follow but overall I thought this was a really good book
