I recently read a review of this book that prompted me to add it to my library. I knew I didn't want to miss this when I’m appraised of the scandalous romance with an age gap between the ice skater and her coach; unknowing that this will be a novella until I realized how short it was.
Simply said, I am far more than delighted with how the book turns out since this is one of the almost full-fledged novellas I've come to read. Character arcs, the gently unfolding plot, conflict and adequate pacing all slipped into place naturally. Even though the setting was limited to only the ice rink, this felt more than enough. Mint's ability to condense the heated forbidden love into a few paragraphs showed that she must be a natural writer. Because how did she pull this? I love how the couple comes together and I'm glad that this one live to my expectation!
Having that said, the epilogue may have been written differently (since I'm not a big fan of books ending with steamy scenes considering we have enough of that throughout), but it's been a pleasure to come across this series of a novella. And I'm looking for another book as I speak 👀

GAHHHH THIS ROMANCE WAS EVERYTHING. This is a figure skater/coach, age gap, grump/sunshine romance and it was everything. The hero was a Scottish figure skating coach and so grumpy and I loved him. There was a good amount of steam in here and I just loved how the heroine and the hero got together. And this revolved around ice skating, which I really loved. I'm so excited to try out some more books from Cassie Mint!

Delicious read, honestly. As you can tell from just reading the synopsis of this book, this girl, Mila, is a figure-skater and she has it bad for her coach, Coach Mackay or "Logan", who also coincidentally has it bad for her.
There are two (2) sex scenes in this book, and tbh, they weren't particularly hot or self-fan-worthy. Imo they weren't drawn out enough and there wasn't enough tension created before the action but...the hurt/comfort and the praise hello?... 😔✋
...he said that after she fell. I nearly passed out (Is this a side effect of my gymnastics coaches not caring if I was near death? Oops?) Overall just so sweet.
Jaws fell. But it doesn't stop there, no...the man continues...
😦😦😦 And then he hits us with this, (which reminded me of Manson, my bb):
Phew, okay onto actual commentary, I found myself really impressed with the male perspective that was written. It wasn't super weird or nasty (as they tend to be in novellas like these). It was honestly quite endearing sometimes.
So overall, I'm a mess and this was adorable. Just a simple 100 page novella, a perfect palette cleanser or quick pick-me-up for if you're in a slump!
She beams at me, and I'm surprised the whole damn rink doesn't melt and turn to slosh around our ankles, caught in the beam of pure sunshine coming out of Mila's pretty face.

Like most of the books I've read by Cassie Mint this is a taboo, age-gap story and I may have marked it as a teacher-student romance but this book is about a figure skater and her coach.
It's not my favorite story by her but it was an okay short read. 3 ⭐

mila and coach mckay had me in a literal chokehold for sixty pages and i was legitimately sad when their story came to an end. when i tell you this has the potential to be a five star book …

Well starting off my figure skating romance challenge with a fizzle. This was mediocre. It didn’t have enough content to really draw me in. There were few figure skating moments, no competition at all, few coaching moments and one barely steamy hook up in an arena office. Very lacklustre. I was hoping for more. On to the next one.

This was enjoyable but I did feel like something was missing. The plot was fairly simple; figure skater secretly loves her grumpy coach, and coach secretly loves figure skater. There wasn't much else to it.
Mila was very bright and sweet. She was a little bit sheepish in the sense where she sought the approval of Logan. I don't have much to say about her, she was just a positive and nice besotted young woman.
Logan was exactly the type of hero that I like; possessive, grumpy, jealous...and caring with the woman he loves. I think without him, this novella wouldn't have been that great but with him? It hit the nail just right.
Their chemistry was good, their moments were sweet and overall, they were enjoyable to follow. I think my only little complaint would be to have more steamy scenes or more tension? It was rather prudish compared to the eroticas I normally read BUT it was nice to read anyway. And most definitely safe.

Our h was a rising (partnered) skate figure athlete and she's crushing her new coach. HARD. But she didn't want to mess with the new dynamic especially ruining her partner-slash-BFF concentration. She also thought the coach saw her only as his prize pupil. But, did he? Just one lingering touch, one-touch too long, and everything changed.
It's sexy and a bit erotic, but the story was there, though not so much. The plot was heavier on the romance side and how both struggle to fight the temptation of being together.

I loved the tension between Logan *freaking COACH MacKay*😳 and Mila. The build up to their romance was so sweet, short and intense and although there wasn't that many sexy scenes, it was still really fun to read. The ending was definitely far too rushed and the story didn't focus much on their relationship once they actually got together- which is why I'm only giving 4 stars.

This was really fun!! This is about Mila and Logan. Mila is a figure skater and Logan is her coach! It's obviously very forbidden but they can't keep their hands off each other!
I will say I was taken out of the story many times simply because my sister's name is Logan 🤣
And so I don't necessarily enjoy reading about someone moaning that name bahahaha. But I did enjoy the story overall! :)

I devoured this novella! Thin Ice is the lusty romance between Mila, a figure skater, and her coach, Logan. These two have been listing after each other for awhile. Logan is constantly jealous of Mila and her skating partner because they get to touch her and he can’t. The sexual tension builds and eventually Logan gets his wish to have his hands alllll over Mila🥵🥵🥵.
