We Bury the Living

Rate this book
Finn and his little sister, Jamie, have been sent to spend the summer with an aunt and uncle they’ve never met. Talk about ruining summer vacation. If that wasn’t bad enough, Uncle Silas and Aunt Ida live in the middle of nowhere. Next to a cemetery.

Oh, and they drive a hearse. And run a funeral home.

And sleep in coffins.

But the real horrors are just beginning. Not everyone is resting peacefully in Eldorado Cemetery. Graves are being dug up. The sound of crying is coming from crypts closed for centuries. Someone is stalking the graveyard at night.

But don’t worry. The dead can’t really come back to life.

Can they?

A story about a brother and sister whose parents are sort of crappy parents who don't pay a lick of attention about their kids. As I tell my students, parents are buzzkills and make for not great books sometimes. The brother and sister duo end up getting into a situation that is a life or death dilemma.

This is up there with R.L. Stine's Goosebump books. Fast paced thrilling mystery for kids. I flew through this and cant wait to read the rest of this series with my nephews.
