Detective Millicent Harvey is back and finds herself involved with the apparent suicide of a young teen, possibly for online bullying. But the evidence doesn’t sit well with Millie and when she finds a police officer doing everything to stop her involvement, it only spurs her on. With a multitude of suspects, no one is safe until the last few pages as one twist after another has the reader doubting themselves as to who the real villain truly is.
An exciting mystery that has the pages tumbling to the tragic end.
Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
NYPD Detective Millicent Harvey is on vacation when a 14-year-old teen, Elsa Butler dies as a result of an apparent suicide. The girl had been the target of a cruel bunch of girls who severely bullied her. But Millicent is suspicious, especially when the police try to thwart her efforts at looking into this.
The characters are realistic and believable. The tension mounts as the danger feels like it physically surrounds the reader. When the killer turns toward Millicent, can she solve the crime before she actually becomes the next victim? Will she discover who did this and what reason there could be to target a shy young teen?
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
