Who knew a lot could happen in a 200 page book? Like I have a headache trying to process
More cloak & dagger stuff going on, but I don’t mind it- the multiple POVs are fun although sometimes it’s hard to follow some of the authors ideas but idk if it’s me or the writing
By the 95% mark I had resolved myself not to continue the series but by the end end I decided why not. I might pause though bc it’s a lot to read through cause ALOT is happening in these books like ALOT
I’m worried about BURT. Will he become unhinged? Real worry there. Then there’s the engineers, how are they not noticing BURT? they kept explaining his spikes in loads away but I guess their ineptitude was necessary for the story to unfold
I keep wondering at the morality of what BURT does tho, like his actions straddle that line v v carefully
Last thing (maybe lol): Stephanie’s transformation seems fast to me idk this might be my own struggles w how quickly she’s growing but the pace is throwing me off
However I’m here for the magic, her thwarting the politicians, the army & eventually those weirdos in the background
I might do a heavy book review every 3 books 🤷🏾♀️ so the next one is book 6 if I get there
As Stephanie continues her learning and research, she gains in power. A mysterious book, that only she can read, may hold a hint to her origins. It becomes clear that she needs protection as well as to protect herself and loved ones. Her team begins to look to her as a leader rather than a client. I like the action and humor. I look forward to the next book.
There is a secondary plot running through this storyline, presenting a bit more detail in this installment but mostly it remains a vague negative influence. More magical development, continued character development and enough intensity to push the storyline forward.
I read a lot and this storyline is intriguing but it almost seems like the words flow with difficulty. I will be reading the next one and it does seem like each one is better than the previous.
It is not an easy path for a young witch, that's for sure. As Stephanie steps out on her own, things start to just get crazier and crazier. What's a young professional with magical abilities to do?
