Trusting in You

Rate this book
Am I falling for my client? I plead the fifth.

The moment Lucy James walks into my office, I know beyond a reasonable doubt that I’m in big trouble.

Exhibit A: The way my heart kicks up a notch every time she looks at me.

Exhibit B: The fierce need I have to help her and her neurodivergent teen brother, even though I’m already swamped and shouldn’t take on another case.

Exhibit C: The fact that I can’t seem to get her off my mind long after she leaves.

Once we sign on the dotted line, a relationship between us could get me disbarred. So even though she appears to be everything I’ve ever wanted in a woman, I know I need to stay far, far away.

But helping Lucy means spending time in each other’s worlds. And now I have a feeling mine will never be the same.

I Loved It!

This story! I loved it! All of it. The characters, the struggle, the ending. Lucy's devotion to her brother. 💙 This was exactly the kind of book I was hoping for when I picked it up.

If I had to describe this book in one word it would be AMAZING! From the moment I picked it up, I was transported back to San Diego where I lived and breathed all things Eric and Lucy. I had the hardest time leaving. I found myself sneaking in reading whenever I could. I love it when a book can capture me and make the world around me just disappear.

Eric and Lucy are seriously the best! I quickly fell in love with these two and found myself rooting them on from the very beginning. They were absolutely perfect for each other. And it didn't hurt that their flirting, chemistry, and swoony kisses were hot, hot, hot!

This is the perfect addition to the San Diego Marines series. I'm so glad that Eric finally got his story! If anyone needed a HEA, it's him!

This is a prime example of why Ms. Mastorakos is one of my favorite authors. I can always count on her to give me that much needed break from reality. I can't wait to see where she takes us next!

As for my casting, *le sigh*. I'm in love! What do you think?

Eric gets his story! He is not a Marine, but we have known of him for a while. He is one of the good guys, in the legal world, and a well-dressed one. It is also nice to catch up with old friends, from the first series.

Lucy is our Marine in this book, and she is in need of some assistance. She wants to gain guardianship of her brother and seeks advice from Eric on the recommendation of a fellow Marine. Smitten from that first meeting, with complications all around, the two agree to be “friends”. You need to read the book to get the whole story, as it is a worthy read. Patrick and Ronnie are beautifully written side characters and add so much to this story.

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful story. There were so many lessons to learn and feel good moments. I had a hard time putting it down when it was time for sleep.

Lucy was a Marine stationed in San Diego who had a younger brother who was autistic. She loved him dearly and only wanted what was best for him. When she felt like her dad couldn't give him what he needed, she stepped in and tried to convince her father that, at least for a short time, she might be able to better meet Patrick's needs, he didn't like what she said. So, she sought legal counsel where she met Eric, an amazing and successful family law attorney.

There were instant sparks between Lucy and Eric, but Eric knew that if he crossed the line, he could be disbarred, but the attraction was overpowering but he knew the risks, both for this case, his career and his love life.

I loved how much Lucy loved her brother and wanted only what was best for him. She tried, in every way possible, to help her dad see that she wasn't trying to take over or break up their family and only wanted to help, but he just couldn't see it. She was torn between her love for Patrick and her love for her father. I also loved how supportive Eric was for her and for Patrick. He was such a kind, honest, endearing man; the perfect book boyfriend.

Fortunately, there was a happy ending and some resolution for Lucy, Eric and her father. This is a clean, wholesome, wonderful story with wonderful life lessons woven into the story, as well. It is appropriate for anyone to read who wants a feel good, romantic story.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

Poignant, family-drama romance

Lucy James is a 24-year-old Marine who is stationed in San Diego. Her father is a massively famous rock musician who lives in a huge mansion in Los Angeles. After burning out from ten years of non-stop touring, he and his band have been on hiatus for the past seven years, but he has just informed Lucy that, four months from now, he and his band will be reuniting for an 18-month concert tour across the USA and Europe. Lucy is happy on her father’s behalf, because music is his life, and he loves to perform. But she is very worried for her beloved, fragile, 13-year-old brother, Patrick, whom her father plans to take with him. Patrick is intellectually brilliant, but he is neurodivergent at a serious level of the autism spectrum, and he needs far more accommodations to his special needs than any amount of money spent by their exorbitantly rich father can provide on a tour bus. Lucy begs her father to allow Patrick to stay with her for the duration of the tour, and it is clear that Patrick wants to stay with her as well. But her desperate pleas have gotten her nowhere. Though her father’s neurodivergent situation is not as severe as Patrick’s, and he has never been willing to be formally diagnosed, from Lucy’s compassionate perspective, it has long been obvious to her that her father is on the autism spectrum as well. As a result, it is difficult for him to see any other perspective than his own, and once he has made up his mind about something, it is almost impossible to get him to envision any other alternative. His current entrenched view is that Patrick belongs with him and, because he has made every possible necessary provision for his son’s care, Lucy is wrong that the tour will harm Patrick. Worst of all, her father believes that allowing Patrick to stay with Lucy will break up his family.

Eric Moore is a 30-year-old, family-law attorney. He comes from a wealthy background, and his true destiny, according to his martinet of a father, is to practice corporate law for the entirety of his working life. Eric did his best to go in that direction for a few years, but his heart was not in it, and his father deeply resents that Eric switched to comparatively low-paid, low-prestige family law several year ago. He can’t accept that Eric is passionately committed to using his legal skills to make a difference in the lives of ordinary people, rather than prop up the pampered lives of the upper classes. Though he regularly puts in 60-70 hours per week on paid cases, on top of that, every year Eric donates a significant amount of his limited down time to pro bono cases for Marines, and he also pays all their court fees out of his own pocket. When Lucy comes to him, via a referral from a fellow Marine who is a friend of Eric (the hero of Book 1 in this series), his attraction to Lucy is immediate and intense. Over and above the fact that she is a beautiful woman, Eric admires her fierce devotion to her brother. He is more than willing to take Lucy’s case, but he greatly hopes she will be able to work things out with her father, both because he agrees with her that it would be in Patrick’s best interest, but also because Eric very much wants to date Lucy. Unfortunately, when her father refuses to see reason, and Lucy formally becomes Eric’s client, it becomes professionally risky for him to date her. According to the ethical standards of the California Bar Association, unless a lawyer is already in a romantic relationship with a client before taking their case, if the lawyer dates that client, it is grounds for disbarment. This means that Eric is facing as much as four long months of resisting the blazing, mutual attraction between himself and Lucy, before her case goes to court.

This story offers a very moving and authentic portrayal of the special needs of a young teenager on the autism spectrum. Patrick is a wonderful character in his own right, and Lucy’s love and loyalty for her vulnerable, younger brother is very inspiring. In addition, her relationship with her father, and the arc and resolution of their disagreement about what is best for Patrick, is not just glossed over at the end of the novel in a convenient, poorly motivated manner, as far too many romance novels do when they bring up serious family issues as a crucial subplot. Instead, the final restoration and renewal of her filial relationship is both believable and heart-warming.

There is also a well motivated resolution of the family-drama subplot of Eric’s troubled relationship with his overbearing father. And the affectionate relationship of Eric’s adorable mother with Patrick is a delightful part of this story as well.

As for the romance between Eric and Lucy, he is a classic romance hero in that he is handsome with a ripped physique and is quite prosperous (even if mostly from his trust fund, rather than from his job). But more than that, he is an adorable Beta Hero of the type known as a “cinnamon roll.” He is kind, generous, loyal, supportive, and unfailingly sweet natured toward Lucy and Patrick. In short, the romantic journey of Lucy and Eric is made extra special because they are both such wonderful, caring, ethical human beings.

This author writes PG romances with what is called a “closed bedroom door.” Her novels are not what I call G-rated, in the manner of Hallmark style stories, in which the protagonists do not exist as sexual beings, and there is no sexual chemistry at all between them. In the case of this novel, there is plenty of exciting chemistry between Lucy and Eric, even though there is nothing stronger than a few passionate kisses between them on stage. The other way that this story is PG instead of G is that there is some mild cussing in it, though no F-bombs.

I rate this novel as follows:

Heroine: 5 stars
Hero: 5 stars
Subcharacters: 5 stars
Romance Plot: 5 stars
Lucy’s Family Drama Plot: 5 stars
Eric’s Family Drama Plot: 5 stars
Writing: 5 stars
Overall: 5 stars

I really enjoyed seeing Eric get his HEA, and Lucy was the perfect match for him. They have terrific chemistry, but they both have some trust issues. I was glad to see them work through those and build some Lego surprises!

The is my new favorite book. From the minute Lucy walked into Eric's office, let the entertainment begin. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. Add in Patrick and the struggle with Lucy has with her dad, as well as Eric with his dad and this book has all the feels. You can't go wrong reading this one.

This was simply amazing! I stayed up past midnight finishing it, and now, I have a book hangover. It was that good! Trusting in You is a companion novel to Jess Mastorakos’ San Diego Marines series. I was so excited to read this book because I had really liked Eric, and it did not disappoint.
Eric Moore knew that he was in trouble when Lucy James walked into his office. She had him from the beginning. However, she was his client and he couldn't take the risk. As he spent more time with her though, he found himself falling for this stubborn, kind Marine who would do anything for her brother. Lucy just wants to help her brother, and she is even willing to fight for him in court. She never expected to fall for her lawyer. Will Lucy and Eric be able to make their relationship work or are the lines between them too blurred?
Lucy was such a great character. She was strong and considerate of those around her. I loved her relationship with her brother. She truly cared for him, but she was also struggling to figure out how to best help her brother. I loved her vulnerability and how she truly wanted the best for her brother. I loved her throughout the book, and I adored reading about her growth and learning to overcome her own insecurities and past. I liked how Lucy felt real. She had her own problems, and she wasn’t perfect. But she tried her best.
Eric was amazing! I loved him, he was such a kind guy, and he really cared for those around him. I loved him in this book and getting to see things from his side. He was so sweet, and I loved how he fell in love with Lucy. It was sweet to read about him interacting with Lucy and Lucy’s brother Patrick. Eric had to figure out how much he was willing to risk in order to be with Lucy.
Lucy and Eric had a sweet relationship. I loved reading about them together. I also adored their interactions with Patrick. Lucy loved her brother and she wanted him to flourish, not just be okay. It was so cool to read about Eric reaching out to Patrick, and seeing Patrick beyond his autism. Patrick was such a cool character and I loved reading about him. I also loved seeing old characters from previous books. It was a lot of fun. These characters had such good banter and I just loved everything!
Trusting in You was all that I had hoped for. I can not recommend it enough! The characters were lovely, and I fell in love with them from the beginning. Eric was so swoony and sweet and I adored Lucy. The storyline was engaging and I could not put it down. Trusting in You is a must read! Trusting in You is a clean Marine romance.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.

This is one of the best books I’ve read this year! I’m not sure why this one is different, but the sweetness is a little edgy, the. Characters are so good! Not only the couple, but the supporting characters as well. From getting to so Spencer from some of the previous novels, then Lucy (the heroines) and her musician dad and struggling brother. This book was phenomenal!
Lucy is a Marine in the San Diego office whose dad is a musician and she has a brother around 11 years younger than her who is on the spectrum. Her dad wants to tour with his rock group again and Lucy knows it will not be a positive environment for her brother, Patrick. She is given the number for an attorney, Eric (we’ve met him before with the Hawaii Marines). He does pro bono work for service members to help them with family, legal matters. Lucy ultimately has to take her dad to court for guardianship of Patrick, and it appears to not work out for her.

We get to see Lucy and Eric fall in love and have to hide it, a disgruntled ex get his come uppance, Patrick grow emotionally and her dad learn empathy. It was an all around wonderful family story, with lost of hot kisses and borderline steam with the hotness of those kisses.

This is a stand alone, but I hope to see some of the characters in this story, get their own HEA. I could not put this book down and read it in a single setting. I recommend this story to anyone with a heart and that likes a well written, multi level story!

I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Every time I read a new book by this author, I decide that it’s my new favorite book of hers but still love the others!

Trusting in You is a sweet military romance about Lucy, a marine who needs legal help to win guardianship of her special needs brother. Eric is a family lawyer and after he takes Lucy’s case, he almost wishes he hadn’t since as her lawyer he cannot pursue his attraction to her.

One thing I loved about this book was that it avoided a lot of the plot cliches in contemporary romance. I kept thinking I knew what was going to happen next…and then I was completely wrong and I loved it!

I appreciated all the different interpersonal relationships and both the growth and acceptance that occurred. I also thought Patrick’s autism was approached so well and I came away feeling like I have gained some new understanding of those who are on the spectrum.

And the romance? Sigh. Lucy and Eric are adorable together and let’s just say I will never look at a ferris wheel the same way again. 😉

This was a light, fun read that I will definitely be picking up again! If you enjoy sweet contemporary romance with some swoony kisses and great characters, you need to pick this one up!

I received a complimentary copy of this book but a positive review was not required.

4.5 stars another solid contemporary romance from author Jess Mastorakos. Trusting in You is the story of Lucy and Eric. Lucy is a Marine who is seeking guardianship of her younger brother who has autism when their Rockstar father is about to leave on tour. Eric is the attractive lawyer with a heart of gold willing to take her case pro Bono. The only true hiccup is the instant connection Lucy and Eric share and how easy a relationship is forming when they should only be attorney and client.
I read this book in one day, it was super cute and an easy read because the flow and pace were spot on while delivering a solid story. The romance and friendship were believable and I enjoyed the foundation between them. I also liked the way the author portrayed Patrick and his autism It was a very tasteful representation of individuals on the spectrum and I loved how Eric and Lucy were so good with him.
I received a complimentary copy of this novel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

WHAT IT'S ABOUT
The moment Lucy James walks into my office, I know beyond a reasonable doubt that I’m in big trouble.

MY TAKE
I LOVED Lucy and her dedication to Patrick. I've read a few books lately with neurodivergent characters, and it's fascinating to experience their very unique needs.

Lucy had a very unique upbringing, being the daughter of a famous guitarist is a world-touring band. I really felt for her when she decided to go for guardianship of her teen brother Patrick. She'd LIVED what being on tour could do to him, and she understood that going after guardianship would pit her against her father. So she stood the risk of alienating him. And things are rough for a while.

Eric was a delight. It's nice to read about a beta male. Eric embraces his emotions which makes him a great family attorney, but he could go all attorney when needed. His attraction for Lucy was instantaneous, but he took her case anyway.

This was where I struggled a little and knocked it down a star.

The romance is charming and the family drama heart wrenching. The resolution of both was wonderful. Too bad about that little thing ...

TRUSTING IN YOU is a standalone read with a happy ending. No sexy scenes or colorful language so any age from teen to granny can read and enjoy. The story is set in San Diego on the Marine base. Lucy, 24 is single and an Admin. Marine. Currently her brother, who is autistic, has been living with her. Their dad is a famous rock star but semi-retired. His life is his music. He has a mild form of autism but has never been diagnosed. Lucy's mom left them right after she was born, then Patrick's mom left them right after he was born so Lucy has been like a mom to Patrick. She understands his issues and knows how to deal with him and help him.

Their dad is getting ready to do an 18 month international tour and he plans to take Patrick with him. Lucy has tired to talk her dad into leaving Patrick with her to keep him on his schedule, keep things around him quiet and generally do what is best for his condition. The dad is having none of it. Her co-workers discuss taking him to court and give her the name of a family lawyer that helps Marines by doing their work pro bono. She gives him a call.

There is a big problem. The attraction is immediate and that will never do. In California a lawyer can be disbarred for having an affair with a client. Eric was in bankruptcy law with his father until he found it was not where he needed to be. He switched to family law to the dismay of his father. It has been a problem between them ever since.

This story covers a lot of territory. There is the discussion on autism and lots of information is given so that all of us can understand it better. Then the law in California. The love story between the lawyer and his client. The story of a sister trying to do the best for her brother without hurting her father. It is full of twists and turns. A good entertaining read and I definitely recommend it.

I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 11/23/2021.

This was such a sweet and lovely romance. The way that the relationship between Eric and Lucy was just adorable. What I wasn’t expecting was the level of forbidden that it was. But that gave their story a little bit of angst and edge to them to combat the sweetness. Plus, it made the conflict a lot stronger and the reason for them not being together makes more sense than it was just a random thing. It was very romantic and full of unconditional love, which I loved.

I also love the fact that she was a marine. I haven’t read a lot of female Marines in the past, but I think that brought another level to the story. It just made me love her all the more. Her loyalty, and her love towards her brother was just amazing. She was such a great heroine. And Eric was such a perfect match for her.

I loved seeing the connection grow between Eric and Patrick. Eric took his time with his relationship with Patrick, and did things on his level of what Patrick felt comfortable with, especially since he had autism. But he handled it perfectly, and it was just sweet to see them bond, and connect in a different, but you know what Nick way that just made it all the more special. Eric was very much an advocate for Patrick. And it was sweet to see him fall in love with Patrick just like he fell in love with Lucy.

The only thing I have to say was it was kind of predictable of how things were going to blow up, and who was going to blow them up. I predicted it as soon as this character came onto the page, especially knowing the set up of how Eric and Lucy, having a relationship was forbidden. It was an easy leap to make. So that part I was an event of, but it didn’t deter my overall enjoyment for the story.

Eric Moore captured my attention with his gorgeous arms and then kept it the whole way through with his compassion, understanding, and just being so dang swoony! And I'm so glad that he FINALLY got his happily ever after. I loved Lucy's strength as she is going through the courts to do absolutely everything she can to protect her younger brother who has autism and help him thrive rather than just be ok.

These two could not stay away from each other and it was so fun to watch them fall in love. Eric was just as swoony as I remember him being in Back to You, especially because he treated Lucy's younger brother exactly how he should be treated. He learned all of his quirks and dislikes and adjusted accordingly to make sure he was comfortable. And not only that but went out of his way to make sure he found new things for him to enjoy too.

It was so fun going back to San Diego and being able to catch up with Spencer and Vince. While this book does feature past characters from the San Diego Marines series, it can also be read as a standalone and has the sweetest happily ever after EVER! The epilogue will absolutely blow you away!

A Sister’s Love

Lucy, a Marine, wants her younger brother, Patrick, to live with her while their dad is off touring with his rock band. She feels it is important for Patrick to have a stable environment since he is on the Autistic spectrum. Her dad feels like she is trying to break up his family and refuses to let Patrick stay with her, so she ends up hiring a family attorney, Eric, to help her get guardianship.

Lucy and Eric start to have feelings for one another and their budding relationship is complicated due to Eric being her attorney. Lucy’s ex shows up and causes some drama.

Will Lucy get guardianship of Patrick? Will her relationship with her dad survive?
Will Eric and Lucy get their happily ever after? Read the book to find out.

Trusting in You, is interesting, deals with family situations, exes, and romance while staying away from curse words and sex.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

A lawyer is intrigued by his gorgeous and sweet client. Lucy. Once they sign on the dotted line, a relationship between them could get him disbarred. So even though she appears to be everything he's ever wanted in a woman, he knows he needs to stay far, far away. But helping Lucy means spending time in each other’s worlds.

Eric finally got a story! He has been in out for a bit because he is Hawk's friend. He's not a Marine. He's a kind, sweet, family law lawyer. He is, however, going to help a Marine. Lucy needs his help. She's the child of a famous rockstar. Knowing how tour life was for her as a child she wants to spare her Autistic brother as she won't be there to help him this time. As the mother of a sweet autistic boy who loves Legos this pulled at my heart strings. 😭 It's so good!

Every time I read one of her books it becomes my new favorite. I love this story so much. Highly recommend you read the whole San Diego series!

Jess, you've done it again!!! I loved Lucy and Eric's story!! Wonderfully fleshed out characters that you can totally relate to. If I can't relate to the characters I'm not invested in their story. That definitely wasn't a problem with this story!

Lucy is a marine trying to take care of her younger brother that's on the spectrum. First off, yay for a female marine! I love strong women and to see them represented in books! Second, Patrick is so well written and I love seeing more diversity in books. I love their sibling relationship!! It's so sweet to see how much Lucy truly cares about his best interests.

Eric is so fabulously wonderful! I hear he's mentioned in a previous book so I need to get my hands on it asap!!! I love their banter and how their relationship developed. It was truly heartwarming and believable. I enjoyed this whole thing!!! Jess never disappoints so go get a copy of this!!!

Trusting in You is a well-written military romance with a bit of a twist. Lucy is the Marine, and Eric is a family court lawyer that she seeks legal help from. Lucy's brother Patrick is autistic, but Jess Mastorakos fills out his character so that the reader knows there is a lot more to Patrick than that. I was very impressed with the way that she handled it.
Lucy and Eric are attracted to each other at their first meeting. Guess what kind of a relationship that a lawyer can't have with his client. Yep, no dating! Read the book to find out how they handled and mishandled that situation.
I enjoyed reading Trusting in You and recommend it to readers of clean romance, of Christian romance, and of military romance.
I received a complimentary copy and am sharing my opinion of this excellent military romance.

I love this author’s books! This one sucked me in right away. I absolutely hate that there is life to live and I had to put the book down to do things. This story is about Lucy who is a marine and has a younger brother Patrick that is neurodivergent. Lucy’s dad is a rock star who will be going out on tour and wants to take Patrick with him. Lucy was always there growing up to take Patrick away from the Lou’s sounds and take him to places that suited Patrick better. Lucy meets with a lawyer suggested to her. Eric takes her case and they become interested in each other. Eric melted my heart with how quickly he learned to meet the needs of Patrick and so protective of Lucy. There is suspense in the story to keep you reading. The characters are great and well written. The author has a great way of writing that you feel as you are part of the characters and in the story with them.

I absolutely loved this book! I teared up several times, smiled a whole lot, and just generally adored reading it!

Lucy’s younger brother is autistic and she wants him to stay with her while her father is on tour so he can have a place to thrive instead of coping on a tour bus. Eric is a lawyer who takes on pro bono cases for Marines, and Lucy hires him to help her fight for her brother. But clients are romantically off limits for lawyers, so there’s an extra layer of tension to the story that kept me turning pages as quickly as I could!

The relationships in this book are so well written! I loved Patrick and his relationship with Lucy; she accepts him as he is without trying to change him, and their moments of connection made me tear up. I also really appreciated how Lucy and her father’s relationship is written; it’s clear that she cares about her father and wants what is best for him too. Eric and Lucy are great together, though I admit I was a little worried for them because this book has a forbidden romance trope in it. It is handled really well, and I had a hard time putting the book down because I wanted to know what would happen!

I highly recommend this book! It’s definitely one of my favorite reads for this month!

5/5 stars!

Trusting in you by Jess Mastorakos takes us back to San Diego and some of our old marine friends. Eric Moore is a lawyer and we met him previously in Hawk and Ellie’s story Back to You. He dresses like a model and has a drive to help with family court issues. He is absolutely swooney! Lucy is a beautiful Marine and in need of a lawyer to try to get guardianship of her teenage brother who has Autism. The number one rule of an attorney is not to get involved with their client, but these two cannot stay away from one another. This story brings issues to those readers who haven’t had experience with an autistic child or one with a sensory disorder. Her facts are spot on and the love story between all the characters is awesome.

I’m absolutely certain by now that you know how much I love Jess Mastorakos’ books. When I heard that Eric was getting his own book I was excited. It was great to be back in the world of the San Diego Marines; getting to see Vince and Sara and Spencer again. As well as hear a little about their lives.

I loved this book. There was so much to love that I’m not even sure where to begin. Lucy and Eric were fantastic characters. Even though this book was an insta-romance it was written well and their relationship progressed over a couple of months.

Probably my only negative was that I felt as if things were wrapped up too easily. Yes things didn’t go the way the couple expected, but the decisions they made could have had very serious consequences. It felt as if they got away with it.

Besides this, I really enjoyed the book. And as always if you haven’t read anything from Jess Mastorakos then you should definitely do so now. Her San Diego series is free on Kindle until the end of this week (28th November 2021).

Love

This is not the first of Ms Mastorakos' work that features a female Marine. Nora was the first and she was very tough as nails, guarded, strong. Now Lucy, isn't quite the same. She is way more girly and feminine. And I love it! I love seeing different sides of the women in uniform.

This book follows Lucy and Eric. They have undeniable chemistry from the get go, but also a major roadblock. I didn't care for the way they worked through that roadblock, but overall, I liked them.

I particularly love how Eric just clicked with Patrick. They were very sweet together. No wonder Lucy fell for him.

I'm glad Eric got his girl, and I'm glad to have met Lucy. AND Britt! Where can I get a BFF like her?

This is such a wonderful, heartwarming story! The hero is every woman’s dream husband. He not only gorgeous and hard working, but kind and compassionate. Lucy , our heroine, is the Marine, stationed in San Diego, trying to get temporary guardianship of her younger autistic brother. Their father is a rock star who plans to take the boy with him on an extended music tour. Eric is the attorney helping Lucy to gain the custody, but they fall hard and fast for one another, a relationship forbidden between counselor and client. Their relationship is sweet and caring. The young brother plays a major role in the story, and the author has done just a wonderful job of portraying an autistic child with sensitivity and realism . Well done!

What can I say about Eric and Lucy? They are awesome. I actually about cried several times during the book. Eric is a realistic person that understands that things don't always work in your favor, but that doesn't mean it has to be the end of the world. Lucy learns that is ok to depend on other people. I loved how her father, Ronnie James, finally realized that sometimes money cannot make everything ok. More people to look at the bigger picture and do what's best for their loved ones. I would defiantly recommend this book to everyone, but especially the ones that love happy endings and a beautiful love story. It was a great read for me. Thank you for sharing.

Trusting in You might just be my favorite book from this series yet! Some characters we’ve seen glimpses of in other of Jess’ books come together and have their own heartwarming story. In a very realistic read, Lucy hires Eric as her attorney to help gain guardianship of her autistic brother Patrick while their father tours as a rock star. Of course, from the very first meeting of Eric and Lucy the sparks and attraction is flying and they develop a friendship prior to starting a relationship. Watching their relationship grow but also Eric and his connection with Patrick was so heartwarming and lovely to read. Great binge read!

At last, a HEA for Eric! 🥰

I was so excited when I found out Eric was getting a story. I liked him in the early books in the series, and it was also great to see old favorites like Hawk & Ellie and Vince & Sara in this book.

Lucy was one tough sweetie. Her heart for her brother was beautiful to see, and I really felt for her when she struggled with the concept of fighting for guardianship. What a difficult situation to be in with your father. 😣

And Foster. Boy, I'd love to punch his face. 🤣

Another wonderful Jess Mastorakos novel, weaved with heart, tension and unexpected outcomes. Great stuff!

NB I received an ARC of this book.
