She's going to find out what's going on if it kills her!
Another great read. Showing just how unscrupulous some people can be even in positions were we trust them to have our best interests at heart.
The news that a missing teen has been found dead is shocking. Subduing the community. However she is still trying to work out what is going on with her twin and BFF. Both are hiding secrets and she's going to get to the bottom of it. Plus her Gran is due to arrive any day now with her parents as Christmas is just days away and the twins birthday is just around the corner. However news that a young high schoolers has disappeared eclipses all that. With every minute she is missing counting, everyone rallies round to look for her. But getting the truth out of her contemporaries is like getting blood out of a stone. Every time they question them a little bit more comes out. Leading to a mix of money, drugs, a stray cat, murder and greed being mixed into a read that is not only entertaining but that reads quickly and fluently. A great look at how secrets can develop into mountains when they are just grains of sand.

Loved book!
It’s an easy to read cozy murder mystery set in the fictional town of Stonneybrook.
Eryn writes really great characters and build an entire town you feel you know by the end of the book.
She even includes recipes you can try out that are mentioned in the storyline. Love it and can’t wait for more!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the third installment of the Stoneybrook mystery series. I LOVE Hadley, Luke, Paul, and Suze. The addition of Hadley and Paul's Gran only made it even better. I can't wait for book 4 - I'm only sad that it will be the last one for me to binge read until hopefully a book 5 in the future!

I simply love how it all comes together at the end. This is by far my favorite book of the first trilogy. I loved all the elements, the subtle foreshadowing, the crime, the mystery, the relationships, BAILEY!

5 Star review A Sweet Death (Stoneybrook Mystery #3) by Eryn Scott
Audio Review:
I loved this book from start to finish. It’s a cozy mystery and one that I found thoroughly entertaining. In fact I listened to this one in almost one go as I kept saying, just one more chapter.
The narrator did a fabulous job and certainly kept me entertained. This was a a book filled with secrets, miss communication and clues to satisfy my detective spirit. The intrigue and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat as I listened to this story.
There are many twists, turns and surprises in A Sweet Death as Hadley, her brother and her band of friends follow the clues and I have to say that I was taken by surprise on a couple of occasions. I cannot wait for more in this series.
PS I love her grandmother.

I enjoy this quaint small town and it’s cast of characters. A missing girl and drugs are a bit more intense than the usual cozy mystery. But the mystery is mixed in with thoughts of Paul and Susan’s secret wedding and Luke. Well done and surprise ending. Can’t wait for the next one!

I love these characters so much i'm already onto the next book as I write this.
Hadley, Paul, Suze and Luke are such an amazing bunch of personalities to bring together for sleuthing. Eryn has a way with making every character feel important, and needed in the story even if they are side characters.
The way that Hadley has an 'in' on investigating through her brother being the police is a refreshing take. While he gives her grief he also trusts her judgement, so she isn't butting heads with the law as the case goes on. Their banter is siblings and friends all in one. I love the twin dynamic so much.
In this book we get to meet more of their family who have only been hinted to in the previous two books. It's great to see how loving her family is. Their grandma is a riot, so glad she moved to town, and I hope we get more of this character in future books.
100% caught that nod to pebble cove. Made me swoon at the thought of Rosemary and Hadley doing a team up mystery, um, yes please!
The mystery for this one had me guessing. At the end of it I was left with a duh feeling because it all made so much sense. The way the teenage personalities were handled was also nice. It's refreshing to not have the whiny teen stereotype in a story. This was very much a 'you never know what people are going through' vibe, and it carried over through many of the characters.
All that being said, Hadley handed the end of the mini mystery waaaay better than I would have. I thought the way Suze and Paul were treating her was rather disheartening, leaving her to be an anxious mess like that, seems like they should have known her personality better. Like I said. Big into these characters. LOL Now I'm on pins for where Hadley's love life is going.
You'll love these books if you enjoy character driven mysteries, that are light hearted and family oriented.

I am really enjoying this series and think this is another great addition to what is proving to be a sweet cozy mystery series. I think it is the relationship between the characters that is making it so interesting. The way Hadley is such a great detective but doesn't always get it right or sees what is right in front of her is fun. The mystery is good and despite having worked most of it out there is still an element that you miss. The setting is also interesting and gives you a glimpse of village life, where everybody knows your name and business but still holds a few surprises.
When a young girls goes missing everybody fears the worse, especially as the next town had just had a murder committed which remains unsolved. Are the two connected? Has the young girl been kidnapped by the same killer? The girl was well liked and didn't seem to have any enemies so the police struggle for leads. For the first time Hadley gets permission to interfere in the case from her twin brother because with a missing girl the first couple of hours are crucial and every help they can get is needed. With a un-cooperative boyfriend, a mother in rehab, a grumpy boss and a spoiled rich girl as a best friend questioning people turns out to be hard work and with Hadley's own best friend acting weird Hadley fights lies as well as the clock to find the girl in time.
I like the narrator as she gives each character there own voice and keeps the story entertaining until the last minute.

And just who does the cranky Siamese cat she keeps seeing belong to? You may also ask what chocolate can possibly have to do with drug dealers? All of that, and more town secrets can be found in A Sweet Death, the third book in Eryn Scott's charming A Stoneybrook Mystery series.
As with the previous books in the series A Sweet Death was just so much fun to listen to and to try and solve the latest crimes to hit the quaint town of Stoneybrook. I did guess the solution to several aspects of the mystery but when the final revelations came I did have a surprise or two coming. I really did enjoy this book as much as I did the previous two and I'm definitely looking forward to the next one one in the series.
As alluded to before, I did listen to this book in audio. I had zero complaints about the audio and production quality. The narrator has been the same for the first 3 books and she has done a pretty good job with Eryn Scott's characters. So, if you like cozy mysteries and audiobooks I would easily recommend this book and series. Oh, and there are some pretty cool recipes at the end as well.

In this, the 3rd book in the series it's the twins birthdays, Hadley and Paul. As well as their birthdays, their Gran comes to live with their parents and she is a revelation!, and as well as a teenager being found dead in Cascade Ridge, a teen also goes missing from Stoneybrook.
Gran is now living in Stoneybrook and she's proving to be a dab hand at selling, which leaves Hadley time to snoop and be Paul's ears on the ground, she can find out things which a deputy Sheriff may not hear as people clam up when he asks questions.
Miranda, a local teenager goes missing, some strange things happen before her disappearance, and Hadley finds out not to read all teenagers by their cover, sometimes they can surprise you!
As usual, there's a cat involved needing a home, it's this another which Hadley keeps? She's getting the name of the local cat lady!
There's also something very fishy going on between Suzanne and Paul and Hadley is sure there's something afoot, she starts to believe her long term friendship with Suze is about to falter. Then there's Luke, he's always there for Hadley, is there something in that?
I really enjoyed this book, couldn't put it down so a very late night/early morning was had. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

A Sweet Death is the 3rd book in Eryn Scott's A Stoneybrook Mystery series and it is a good addition to the series. Hadley James makes and sells jam at the local farmers market. Her twin brother Paul is a local Deputy Sheriff, her best friend Suze is an artist and their friend Luke is helping at his family's farm. A local teen goes missing which is keeping Paul and Hadley busy. Drugs are at the center of this mystery. There are a few suspects who are keeping secrets which makes it difficult to find the missing girl. Hadley goes off investigating alone in this book but she does tell someone what she is doing. Suze is keeping secrets from Hadley which is causing some tension between them. Hadley's and Paul's birthdays are coming up and although that is predictable it is also fun. The twins' parents and grandmother are back and their grandmother is a nice character. This is an enjoyable cozy mystery and I'm looking forward to more books in the series. I really enjoyed listening to this sweet cozy mystery... the story can stand on it's own, but in this case I've had the pleasure of listening to all three books in order and as always Jennifer Jill Araya's narration is magnificent...
I feel that this book is the most complex story yet, as Eryn Scott dives deeper into the relationships between Hadley, her family, and her much bigger twin brother Paul, the police man... The story revolves around a new case, a missing person... Hadley (a jam and jelly maker by trade) feels the need to once again get involved. So with her ear to the ground, Hadley hits the gossip circuit, a favorite pastime for Stoneybrook's locals! And, what the heck is going on with Suze, Hadleys best friend, what is she hiding?
Get the book, and if by chance you're interested in trying your hand at making some jelly along the way, there's recipes included! :-)

I really super love this series! Now that I've read three I want read them all. I love these characters so much!
When Miranda goes missing after a death of a teen in another town, the group kick it in high gear to find her.
Oh my gosh do I love Luke. I want them together so much! So adorable!
I really couldn't figure out what Paul and Suze were up to. It didn't really seem logical when it got where it was going. I suppose what it was trying to make us believe was happening wasn't logical either.
Anyway, the mystery....I was seriously scared when the bad guy started coming down the stairs. It was a yell out loud and close the book moment.
I had no clue who the bad guy was. I wracked my brain the whole time. I should have recognized the throw away scene but I'm really terrible at figuring out clues.
Anyway, this is a great cozy mystery series! Go read them!

Hadley James, jam maker extrodinare and amateur crime solver, is once again helping her twin brother solve a crime in the small town of Stonybrook. This time it is the disappearance of a local teenage girl.
I like that Hadley is smart, resourceful, and successful in her own right. She went through a difficult period after her divorce, but she is moving forward and doing her best to put it all behind her.
As this is a cozy mystery series, the emphasis is not on romance, but the author builds up the possibility of Hadley finding love again, too.
The mystery also unfurls at a good pace. While I did see a red herring or two, I was surprised by the way everything came together in the end.

Hadley loves making various types of jams and has built a successful business. Her other skill is being an amateur sleuth. She feels personally involved after a young girl she knows disappears. She seems driven to find all the clues possible, even as her brother Paul, who is in law enforcement, is working very hard according to protocol.
This book is the third in the Stoneybrook series. I have not read the first two, but was happy to read this for review when the author offered a copy. Cozy mysteries are one of my favorite genres and author Eryn Scott does not disappoint in developing authentic characters and a small town community.
You you enjoy cozy mysteries, you will want to read A SWEET DEATH, but perhaps start with Book #1 in this series. I plan to go back and read them myself to get the full flavor of Stoneybrok.

Hadley is dealing with a lot of changes, but she's worried enough about Miranda to go exploring herself and her investigations may end up with a rather sticky end. Good old Luke saves the day, and maybe gains her favour again.

This series keeps getting better! This book probably had the most intricate plot out of the three and was developed really well. I enjoyed meeting Hadley and Paul’s family, especially their grandma, in this book and that Luke had a larger role in Hadley’s life. I really love Hadley’s personality and big heart towards cats, her friends, and family. I think I’m finally going to have to try one of Marisa McClellan’s recipes that are included at the end of these books.
Jennifer did another amazing job with her performance! I love how she can bring all of the characters to life and keep you entertained until the very end.

Another great cozy mystery!
I love reading cozy mysteries especially when the author tells the story so well that you feel like one of the townies. That is exactly how I feel about this story. This story is the third book of the series and just as entertaining as the first two books. I am so looking forward to reading the next story.
I do not enjoy reviews that include spoilers. I can only assure you that if you love reading classics cozies, this one will not disappoint.

This was a good book but I am truly tired of the plot device of the female lead character trying to solve a mystery and putting herself at severe risk just because she thinks she knows who did it! I'm going to take a break from this series until I can over this aggravation!

The 3rd book in this series didn't disappoint. I have throughly enjoyed all three books in this series. They have hooked me from the very beginning and have kept me guessing until the very end. I have read each one of these books in one sitting. I can't seem to turn the pages fast enough. They are cozy mysteries- so no gore or foul language in them. I truly hope there are more books in this series to come yet. So if you like great cozy mysteries then this book is for you. The characters are believable and likable. I highly recommend this book and the series. Thanks Eyrn Scott for your great books.

Stoneybrooke is an enjoyable reading destination
Author Eryn Scott successfully juggles several balls in this delightful story: drugs, deaths, missing persons, misleading motives, and half truths are more than enough to keep the reader engaged in the primary mystery. Then there's the secondary mini-mystery from the previous book that has Hadley about to pull her own hair out (or pick her fingernails down to the nail beds!) to provide a bit of light relief. The characters are well sketched and relatable, and Book Four is the next addition to my reading rotation.

It's a few days before her birthday, she sees her friend has ordered a cake, and the conclusion to which she leaps is that her friend is getting married and not inviting her to the wedding? She thinks she's such a great detective that she has to help her law enforcement brother solve cases, but she's too dumb to figure out that her friend is planning a surprise birthday party for her? Give me a break!

A sweet death
A well written story about the Stoneybrook residents involving a suspicious death. A teenaged girl is found dead but is from the neighboring town. Then the town is swept into high gear when a teen from their own town disappears. The story takes on new dimensions when Hadley, the main character, starts getting the weird treatment from her twin and best friend. Definitely a must read!

Misbehaving Teens, Mysteries, and Gram Minnie!
I love these cozy mysteries so much. Hadley, Suze, Paul and Luke are fantastic characters, and I feel so invested in their lives and loves. Gram is a great addition to the series (who doesn't love little old ladies who know it all?) and Cassie Lee was too perfect.
This mystery was easy to spot (for me), and Hadley's preoccupation with her friend struggles was a little over-the-top, but still another excellent book by Eryn Scott.

This is another enjoyable read in the Stoneybrook Mystery series by Eryn Scott. The characters keep me entertained with their personal lives and with the murder mysteries they solve. In this installment, Miranda, goes missing just after an 18 year old boy is found dead. The race is on to find her before she turns up dead. I am enjoying the interactions between Hadley and Luke and with Paul and Suzanne. This series is full of small town secrets, mysteries, and cats!

I just finished reading this book, I started it earlier today and couldn't put it down. I loved it, there is humour and intrigue, mystery and romance. I love this series and can't wait for the next book! I definitely recommend it, I'm sure you'll enjoy it too. I was given an advanced copy so I could volunteer my honest opinion.

Not a sweet death
Love the main character except for a small town girl how would she know about drug withdrawal symptoms? Her main interests lay in the field of food and jam making.Love interaction between Luke and Hadley.Want to see more of them together as for so called friend,she should really be mad at her for a long time.
