This book was better than the first Olivia Knight installment—while the grammar and spelling were atrocious in book one, they did improve somewhat here. That said, there’s still a lot of room for improvement.
I found the plot overall to be very unrealistic, especially toward the end. Olivia drops everything to go see Amos with absolutely no plan or backup—which is hard to believe for an FBI agent. The ending also felt very rushed. Additionally, it was frustrating that it took the entire book for the characters to realize the three men were brothers.
I think part of my disappointment comes from how much I loved the Blake Wilder series. I went in expecting something similar, which was probably unfair. Olivia comes across as far more cowardly and insecure compared to Blake’s strong, confident character. While I understand they are different people, this series just doesn’t hold the same appeal for me.
That said, I plan to keep reading in hopes that the series continues to improve.
