*A Mountain Man Fire Fighter, A Woman in Uniform, Unexpected Love
Chip It was my day off from work, but the station chief called and said they needed my help to navigate the backwoods mountain terrain. I agreed, not knowing I'd meet my match. The One. I've been so desperate to settle down and stop playing the field that when I finally meet her, I don't trust myself.
Scarlett I am not looking for a man. Or any relationship. Certainly not a beefy mountain man fire fighter with crystalline eyes, Popeye forearms, and a deep voice that reverberates through my core. But then we're tricked, and setup. And somehow along the way, his warmth and love heals my wounded heart

From off-roading to drive-in movies...the man knows how to drive her wild
*** 3 1/2 Stars *** Chip is the third book in the Granite Valley Off-Road Club series. This is a quick and fun story about Chip a firefighter and Scarlett a biological technician with the forest service. They meet when Chip is called into work to drive some forest service people along some trails to do some work before the winter comes in. Scarlett is one of three forest service people who are out that day and she she and Chip make a connection. They end up being set-up by the others when they get back and they end up at the drive-in, with no one else showing up. Let's just say that Chip knows how to kit out the back of his truck for some drive-in fun.
This was an entertaining story with likeable characters. I liked the connection building between the characters and the sizzling fire that finally burn hot between them. My only issue is that the book is in need of a good proofreader, as there are a lot of easily spotted errors which I found to be annoying and stop the flow of the story.
Chip knows the mountains well, as both an off roader and a fireman, so when he is called in to work, he goes. Scarlett is part of the scientific section of the forestry service and they need samples from various soil and scat on the mountain, making sure the animals and trees are doing okay. He is looking for someone to share his life and she is definitely not. The skyrockets flare when they are set up at the drive-in. The characters are terrific, with great backstories and intense feelings and emotions. The storyline pulls these two together with the coworkers helping. The great banter and fun situations, as well as steamy ones, keep you laughing and feeling every emotion along with them. Loved the chemistry and locales. Great ending.

“Chip” is the third book in Ava Pearl’s ‘Granite Valley Off-Road Club’ series. It’s a completely standalone story. To enjoy this book, make sure you understand the limits of a short story. A lot of things have to be skipped over and mentioned, not experienced directly by the reader.
Chip is a firefighter and Scarlett is a scientist with the Forestry Service. They meet when he is assigned to assist her team. The chemistry between them is instantaneous and neither of them can deny it. Their low-angst story is short on words but long on romance and steamy times. There is a lovely ending and great epilogue.

A fun and fast read that skips all the unnecessary description and goes right to the romance and love. Chip is a single firefighter and is always called upon to fill in for other shifts. When requested by his station chief to assist another department, he meets Scarlett, who works for the forestry service. It’s instant attraction for both of them…but they weren’t looking for “the one”. They both recognize their white-hot chemistry, but is this just too soon to have these feelings? Even though they weren’t looking, dare they pass up this chance for true love? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
The third installment of Ava Pearl's Granite Valley Off-Road Club series, Chip is a super sweet and steamy short instalove romance. A mountain man fire fighter? Yes, please! A brainy, sassy and beautiful heroine? Definitely. Chip and Scarlett have so much chemistry from moment they meet when he accompanies her and some of her friends up the mountain in order to clear some trees and, for Scarlett, to do some research. After they spend the day together, neither wants their time together to end. A high-heat, low-drama quick steamy instalove romance, this is a recommended read.

A quick read about Chip and Scarlett. He is a firefighter and she works for the Forestry Service.
