Once upon a time, a scarred beast met a broken beauty.
But to keep my kingdom and appease the Bratva High Council, I’m going to marry a man who’s family my family tried to destroy.
A man who looks at me with cold, brutal blue eyes. A man whose very presence sucks the air from my lungs. A man with no past, shrouded in scars, pain, and darkness.
The rules are simple: get in, get out, don’t fall for the terrifying and magnetically gorgeous Lukas Komarov.
Because this isn't really about me. This is about securing a future for my sick sister. Even if that means binding myself to a man who hates me.
‘Til death do us part...but that’s going to come quicker than anyone knows.
You see, this story has an expiration date. I have an expiration date.
In six months, I’ll be dead.
They say love is a battle.
And I’ve got nothing to lose.
This *standalone*, extra angsty, very dark Bratva academy romance is guaranteed to leave your kindle steaming. Step into the viper’s nest of Oxford Hills Academy and meet the Savage Heirs of Bratva kings and oligarchs. Absolutely no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a happy ever after.
A reader first and foremost, Jagger Cole cut his romance writing teeth penning various fan-fiction stories years ago. After deciding to hang up his writing boots, Jagger worked in advertising pretending to be Don Draper. It worked enough to convince a woman way out of his league to marry him, though, which is a total win.
Now, Dad to two little princesses and King to a Queen, Jagger is thrilled to be back at the keyboard.
When not writing or reading romance books, he can be found woodworking, enjoying good whiskey, and grilling outside—rain or shine.
1.5 Not in a reviewing mood but I'll state why I didn't like this. It could have been 10x better if it had gone through a round of serious developmental editing and basic editing.
-no connection for the first 40% of the book between the leads. No spark, nothing. After that it was a little better because they had shared trauma, but the I love you's were very sudden and had no basis. -atrocious editing. Mispalced quotatations and I had no clue what was dialogue what was inner monologue. A lot of missing commas, wrong word choices and horrible grammar. This book was 100% not edited before. -no chemistry really and didn't really care about the couple. -story was a bit more interesting than before but not that much.
3rd book in this series and the 3rd King of the school. He already had a problem with Lizbet because her father was trying to kill his family so he "hates her" lol their chemistry is very icy cold and try to avoid eachother. But when Lizbet gets a meeting with the council of leaders to get what's rightfully hers to help her sister.. they throw a curve ball she has to marry another guy but Lukas throws his hat in since he feels something for her he just doesn't know what.. and when he finds out about her sister it's more blackmail to get her to marry him and not the other guy. After that the relationship is very rocky but tension is hot between the two and their friends since both his brothers hate her due to her father. I did wish he did more darker kink stuff with her but he didn't due to her condition.
And when Lizbet secert comes out.. its only matter of time before she dies... and we know our guy won't go down fighting... more secerts are uncovered and miracles happen.
Angsty, tiny om drama (but it isn't to bad)No cheating, Slight secondary character, drama, sexy times, virgin gal and not really a manwhore (but we saw he in past books he has a dark taste)

I keep lying to myself, that I am going to take a break from reading mafia books. I am so picky, the good news is, it's a Bravta Mafia, to be honest; I am not familiar with Russian culture. Side note to the author; kudos on Facebook marketing. This book kept popping up on my feed, if I hadn't seen it, I would never have read this book.
Lizbet is determined to get back her father’s empire as the only rightful heir and goes through the Bravta process. However, other people have other plans and throw in a twist for her to gain back the empire.
Lukas already has a problem with Lizbet, because of her father trying to kill his family. They both equally hate Lizbet’s father. He plans on making her life a living hell at school. But like a moth to a flame, he is drawn to her. He sees she is like him and both share a traumatic past.
Here is what I liked. The plot and outline. I connected to both main characters and did like the author's writing style. I felt most of the emotions.
My concern is that the book has a few plot holes. IE; Lizbet's backstory needs a little more clarity; past and present events left me with questions. Lukas' past rumors are never questioned.
Overall, I did enjoy the book and will read another book from the author.
»You realize you don't have to scare the world away from me, right? I'm not going to fall over and break.« »You're right, you're not. Because I'll be scaring any fucking idiot who might bump into you away before they do.«

❥ 𝑳𝒊𝒛𝒃𝒆𝒕 My girl, I adored her! She is brave, loyal and so fucking strong.
❥ 𝑳𝒖𝒌𝒂𝒔 Gosh I suffered with him. He has an awful past and his demons torture him till this day. Lukas is dark, dangerous and deeply broken.
✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 This book was everything. I love it! The story is very dark and contains multiple triggers, so please be aware before reading. We got some flashbacks from the past and a lot of insight in Lukas and Lizbets traumatic childhoods. Both suffered so much and found a chance of healing in each other. I really liked their tension and the way their relationship develops. They truly care for each other and connect through trauma. Lukas and Lizbet share a special bond and I loved their interactions! The book is full of heartbreak and emotions and I was there for the whole ride. There were some new characters introduced and I‘m curios for their stories. This was amazing and definitely a highlight!
𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤? Yes! Go and read this book.
Really enjoyed this one!!!! The way it was said that lukas has a 'dark taste', i kinda wanted a bdsm scene of them :P but the book was still hot. I liked the build up of their connection and it had that emotional aspect! He was protective/possessive too! Both calm each other's demons.
Mafia Academy Story: 18 years old mcs finding love & light <3, despite having lived in a dark world!
V heroine, Lukas is all about Lizbet. He seemed to be very selective with people he let close to him in any way so not a previous manwhore, imo. There is a scene at a party where ow wants to hook up w him, he gets annoyed, wants to get rid of her and so purposefully tells her scary sadistic sexual stuff he can do, just to make her run away.
Heroine's health condition gets totally healed :D
Happy ending <3
I'd love to know more about konstantine, Mara! Maybe Sasha too!!!
Would recommend reading this book :D

I am so addicted to this series! I dig each and every character and have been crazy for this story ever since the start of this series. Lukas has always intrigued me and I got the hint that his story will be with whom in Book 2 itself. And I was right!!!
Lizbet never had an easy life. With her family being the root cause of everything. Her father was the villain and has left nothing but his enemies for her. She needs to gain his empire so that she can save his sister and for that she needs to surrender herself to the one man who hates her with a Passion. Lukas still has nightmares about his time before he was adopted. The things he went through , its just stuff of nightmares. trust me when I say that this one is full of triggers and warnings. It has scenes that have been described in detail and all that trauma is there. So please read the trigger warnings before picking this one up!
The story is amazing , the characters are so amazing. I was happy meeting the characters of the previous book again. The favorite part of mine in this book is the ending! That MF plot twist. OMG. THE BEST. I am good at guessing plot twists but holy shit , this one took me by surprise and it was phenomenal. The raw emotion in that scene was nothing like I have read before.
Highly recommending this book to all the dark romance loving people out there! It's the best and is a complete standalone , so make sure you read this one. Please read the trigger warnings before.
Lizbet wants to secure a future for her twin sister Mara and in order to do so she must brave the halls of Oxford Hills Academy. In those halls lurks the Brutal King of the school, Lukas Komarov and he doesn't seem to like Lizbet much, but why would he when her father tried to kill his dad. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!
Wow!!! Wow, wow, wow!!! This book is too good. Omg I just had so many emotions dragged to the surface, I was dragged into the book and never let go till the end. A sign of a brilliant book in my eyes. This story focuses on Lukas and Lizbet. Lukas is the adopted son of Viktor Kormorov and Lizbet is a Belsky, an arch enemy of Lukas, and Ilya. But as they keep saying, she isn't her father. This book had it all and then some. Just brilliant. Drama, mystery, intrigue, violence, steamy as and romantic also. I loved the friendship between Ilya, Lukas and Misha. All for one and one for all. But I very much respected the relationship between Lukas and Lizbet. They really were two peas in a pod. I enjoyed the slow build and the letting down of his walls gradually, when he worked out she wasn't the enemy but also how she stilled the demons. I even liked the inclusion of Konstantine. A huge antagonist and the troubles he bought to the story, but kind of redeemed himself. Kind of! This was so well written, I loved the characters, the vengeance, Lukas being Batman, saving the girl more than once. The mystery in the background also. I really can't rave enough about this book. Too many interesting facets that just intrigued me. So so so good!!! This was an ARC and this is my honest review.
This is my second favorite. I was always drawn to Lucas. As I met him in the other books. It was great to read his story and to find his redemption. He deserved the HEA.
Sheesh! This was such a good dark mafia read. It was dark without being overly graphic as a shock factor. Which I totally love. Lukas and Lizbet had an amazing love story and the plot twist was perfection. Also, if your looking for touch her and d—, hurt and comfort, and no one can touch his scars but her tropes. This book is for you.
I was most excited about Lukas story, from the very beginning he was described as the darkest prince with a painful past no one could possibly understand.
He had an unbelievably difficult childhood but was rescued by the head of the Komarov Bratva. He calls Viktor and Fiona dad and mum, but he can't erase the past and his demons are always with him. But he'd also do anything for his family. Even if it means marrying Lizbet, the daughter of the man who tried to stab his dad in the back, something he loathes her for. Lizbet's life is falling apart at the seams, but she's a fighter. She'll fight until her last breath which is coming much sooner than you'd think. There was no lost love between her and her dad but the fortune and empire he left behind is something she desperately needs to ensure her twin sister's future. She has balls and is sure about being able to convince the High Council that she can rule in their world. But old ways dictate otherwise and now she needs to marry to get at least half of what's rightfully hers.
I liked Lukas and Lizbet together, how they bonded over their shared trauma and were so careful with each other. They fell in love pretty quickly and I was almost losing interest when those twists came at me basically out of nowhere. Masterful story-telling, this storyline was by far the best in this series so far. But Ilya still has my heart!
This was a pretty hard book to read. Horrific abuse is depicted in flashbacks, which was heartbreaking. Two young children that were painstakingly abused by adults in the past, now find themselves at boarding school hating each other. I would say that Lukas is the traditional bad boy. Tattoos. Broody attitude. Rides a motorcycle. Smokes cigarettes. But, there’s a horrifying past that he’s trapped in. While Lizbet, who is new to the academy, is trying to get out from her despicable father’s crimes so she can take care of her comatose sister as she is harboring a painful secret of her own. These two are so repulsed by each other on the outside, but it’s a whole different ballgame on the inside. What will happen when shocking secrets are brought to the surface for all to see? Wow! I totally flew through Lukas and Lizbet’s love story! Very dark but equally intriguing. Can’t wait to see what this author has up next!
What can I say, this man is most definitely my favorite out of the 3!!! He may be the most damaged but he is literally the biggest softie when it comes to her. He never realized how broken she really was until he saw it in her eyes, until he heard it in her fear. And the way he will unalive anyone for her just proves it. I’m so glad they ended up together, they both deserved this so much.
I am pretty positive that not one of Cole’s books has ever made me cry before. Have they made me feel lots of feels? Sure. Abundantly so. But never to the point of actual tears flowing down my face. I felt this one. It wasn’t an easy read. We knew it wouldn’t be, long before it was even written. But mercy!! My heart was shredded to tiny pieces, all before it was slowly and delicately put back together.
This series is absolutely magnificent and the characters have become such a delicious treat to my nights as I fall into their stories. And I was so very happy to see at the end it ain’t done yet. Oh. Hot. Damn. I am so excited for what amazingness awaits us next.
Cole. You absolutely killed it. (Amazon will probably make me take that line out when I go to post my review.) But dang boy. How do you do it?? 5 Freaking Stars!
Ok, this is my first Jagger Cole book, clearly I'm a total rebel reading them out of order. Reading a romance novel by a man was refreshing, the word alpha was not even mentioned once (huzzah!), and hot was used in the temperature sense rather than the attractiveness sense. The female mc was not constantly being distracted by chiseled pecs, abs, vees or glutes. This is good, because I, a female, also tend not to be distracted by topless men and their muscles, I mostly assign such wandering semi-neked blokes to the vapid narcissist pile, a bit pre-judgy I know, maybe they gave their shirt to a cold homeless person, who is to say? If you, too, are a little over MCs finding love with a gaggle of hot, broody, dominant, bad boys who are apparently ok with one-way monogamy (lmfao, they're always depicted as alphas, it's hilarious) then you might like this one.
BRUTAL KING is the third instalment in Jagger Cole’s contemporary, young adult/new adult SAVAGE HEIRS dark, erotic, Bratva romance series. This is eighteen year old Lizbet Belsky, and Lukas Komarov’s story line. BRUTAL KING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise including graphic violence and abuse there may be triggers for more sensitive readers. Although most of the characters are high school aged, and attend a private, boarding school for the elite, royal, rich or connected, the story line contains adult situations, therefore I do not recommend for anyone under eighteen years of age.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Lizbet and Lukas) BRUTAL KING follows the marriage of convenience between eighteen years olds Lizbet Belsky, and Lukas Komarov. Two years earlier, Lizbet Belsky’ father Semyon was gunned down in a Bratva war. No love loss between Lizbet and her father but a desperate need finds our heroine facing the heads of the Bratva family, aiming to take control of her father’s empire but Lizbet never expected to come face to face with Lukas Komarov, one of the ruling kings at England’s Oxford Hall Academy, and a particular nasty thorn in our heroine’s side. The heads of the Bratva families are not easily swayed and reluctantly make Lizbet choose losing everything or marrying on one of the sons of the Bratva families. Enter Lukas Komarov, and the man with whom Lizbet would fall in love. What ensues is the acrimonious relationship between Lukas and Lizbet, and the potent fall-out as Lukas’ demons begin to take over, and our heroine stands in the direct line of fire.
Lukas Komarov’s backstory is dangerous and dark; heart breaking and demented, thusly, controlling the monster within. Lukas, unable to control the demons from his past, uses pain, in an effort to excise the memories and the dragon that demands to be released. Lizbet is a reminder of everything that went wrong, everything that Lukas cannot control. Lizbet Belsky knows her time is limited, and in this, she is desperate to gain control of her late father’s estate but the Bratva families demand payment for her father’s sins, and this Lizbet is to be made an example, an example that will fall for the man that wants to destroy her life.
The relationship between Lizbet and Lukas is acrimonious at best. Lukas wants nothing to do with our story line heroine believing she is not worthy of attending the prestigious Oxford Hall Academy. With her father’s history, and sins against the reigning Bratva families, Lizbet is persona non grata, and in this, is desperate to gain control before everything is for naught but as Lukas and Lizbet begin to reveal a little bit about their pasts, the pain and darkness begin to engulf our story line couple. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are reintroduced to Bratva Prince/heir Ilya Volkov and Tenley Chambers (Savage Heir 1), Mischa Tsavakov and princess Charlotte Bergendem (Savage Prince 2), as well as Lukas’ adopted parents Victor and Fiona, Bratva heir Konstantin Resnikov, and Lizbet’s roommate Julianna McCreed.
BRUTAL KING is a dark and dangerous story of power and control, betrayal and revenge, creed, desperation, abuse and torture. The premise is raw; the romance is dramatic; the characters are broken, desperate, and determined.
Jagger Cole has penned a thoughtful, sensitive and powerful book with two incredible characters…Lizbet Belsky and Lukas Kormarok. She is the youngest of the twin daughters of a dead Russian mobster with secrets of her own. She comes to the elite Oxford Hills Academy as a step towards reclaiming her family’s lost fortune for her sister Mara, in a coma in a London hospital. Since her father tried to kill both Ilya Volkov’s uncle and Lukas’ father, there is no real love lost towards her upon her arrival. Lukas will do everything in his power to get her to leave until he makes a sacrifice for himself, his family and for Lizbet no one sees coming. With witty dialogue, a wonderful cast of supporting characters we have enjoyed from the first two Bratva Academy books..Ilya & Tenley and Misha & Charlotte, could readers not love these two? Add in twists and turns readers do not see coming… demons Lukas must crush and demons unknown… JAGGER COLE treats child sex trafficking, child abuse.. sexual, mental, physical and emotional with incredible sensitivity. We come to understand and empathize with Lukas and in her way, Lizbet, due to the care and mostly with which the author writes. He doesn’t shy away from the horrors instead helping us all understand what and why Lukas’ parents have set out to do with their FREE THEM organization to stop trafficking children. Kudos to Jagger Cole. And to Lukas and Lizbet. Hopefully, you will embrace them also.
My Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Spice Meter: ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 less spicy than some of his other books, but still spicy.
General Thoughts: I was presented with the chance to listen to this on audio, and I jumped on it. I always enjoy his books, so I have high expectations. This series (4 interconnected standalone novels) is a bit different than most of his I've read in that the characters are younger and the story takes place at an academy.
Confession: I don't often like academy books, but I knew if somebody could change that, it would be Jagger, and I have, in fact, enjoyed these. Maybe because the academy element is fairly light. Still, I've liked all of them and feel like the story has gotten stronger with each one.
I liked the characters in this one a lot and thought did Jagger did a good job with this one. An enjoyable series. I think some of his later books are stronger (as is the case with most authors), but these are still well done and fun. I received a listening review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you, Valentine PR.

I feel like when you read a Jagger Cole book you should just cancel everything else for the evening . His books take you on these journeys that you seem to just experience this over whelming feeling of pure adrenaline! Brutal King was no different ! In fact I feel like it was the most over the top read Jagger has done and that was hard because I love his books . Having a male author take you on such an emotional fueled quest is crazy but so exciting . Male romance authors don’t get enough credit ! Jagger deserves a ton more .
Lukas oh my sweet Lukas how you tore me to a sobbing shred of a mess and then pieces me back together again . Your sadness and pain was so gut wrenching but your strength and cockiness was so welcomed and sexy . You never gave up no matter how much your heart was defeated and you fought to come back alive with your self ire by your side …… or I front of you or beneath you or well that’s a whole other ball game 😂😉
This book was sexy and raw and emotional and gut wrenching . It was Jaggers true piece of art . You need to pick up this book , and never ever put it down . A ten out of ten ! Congrads Jagger !
I adored the characters, all their flaws and how each if them were developed. The 2 MCs were both tortured souls and they met eachother demons head on.
I loved the plot of the story and it sucked me in from the get go. I also adored the side characters in the book and the little snippets we got of their personalities.
I read this book first and immensely enjoyed it but if you wanted to read the others i would read them in order.
If you like dark romances, morally grey character, enemies to lovers and characters that have been through it, I'd definitely give this a go but check out the trigger warnings first!
Meh. I liked this plot but unfortunately there was barely any connection before the i love you's. It was also kind of slow born...they didn't truly have a real contact till 45% or so, it was fine by me...main problem was that they just started then to be together...i wished there was some build up...some attraction..i dunno... there was but..i wished more, more connection. The i love you's where to fast... :'( and we had that connection or exploring OFF page...and that didn't help.! It was more about their past and other stuffs ... :( anyway...over all it was a good story...BUT not the best one.

I absolutely devoured this story. I loved the suspense and the unexpected twist throughout. The story revolves around the Bratva, enemies turned lovers, mental health struggles, a medical condition, child abuse, and the fact that the protagonist only has six months to live. If that doesn’t pique your interest, I don’t know what will. I received the audiobook version of this book, and I must say that the narrator’s performance was masterful. It’s a must-listen, and I highly recommend immersing yourself in the book for a truly great experience. Oh did i say a forced arranged marriage? Yeah that too!
This was a phenomenal book. It seems that with each book that Mr. Jagger writes, he gets better and better. Lizbet and Lukas's story was gripping, emotional, and one amazing book! I can't wait for the next book(s)! I seriously can't put into words how awesome this book was however, I would recommend it and Mr. Jagger!
I received a free e-book copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Hauntingly beautiful! Best Book Of the Year!! A must read!! Lukas and Lizbet’s story is so touching, full of passion, revenge, love and the conflict going on between them is sizzling hot! There are twists and turns and surprises throughout! This is Jagger Cole’s best book ever!! I need so many more than five Mega Stars!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Can i give it 5000+ stars?Just asking..🙉 Ok..i'm still in shock after this book..and..well, I was already kind of obsessed with this author's books😁 but..OMG..he still manages to surprise me..so..please,please, dear Jagger Cole, keep writing!
