Almost two years after returning from America and walking away from the fight, Sam Pope is living a quiet, peaceful life. Working alongside his close friend, Adrian Pearce, to help underprivileged kids, Sam is searching for redemption for the things he has done and the people he has lost.
To him, the fight is over.
But when an ambitious reporter delves too far into a shady corporation's dealings, she falls foul of the power and desperation of the elite. A desperation that soon turns violent, with heart breaking consequences for a close friend of Sam's.
Racked with the guilt of his past and with justice unlikely, Sam faces a gruelling battle to not return to his old ways. But when good people are hurt, and bad people walk free, there comes a time when someone has to fight back.

This 7th Sam Pope book was like all the others. I did not want to finish it, but I could not stop reading it. Again there were parts where tears stung my eyes for Sam, his words that this fabulously insightful author put in his mouth and then my mind are the most heartfelt I've read through all the genre's I favour. Tears also for Pierce and Weaver who believed in Sam to do the right thing. His gesture to Curtis was who Sam is. I truly hope there will be more. The adrenaline I felt all through this latest read needs feeding!
Sam Pope had started a new life. Turned the page. Sometimes, it doesn't last if you do the right thing and go with your conscious. The few people in life he cares about are being threatened. Brutally. Once again, Sam Pope has to return to his former self, A trained assassin. Non stop action from the first to last page. An excellent read!! Enjoyed immensely!!
Undoubtedly Sam is an enigma to many of Robert Enright’’s readers. I find that I root for him throughout the book knowing exactly what he’s going to do, but also find it hard to believe that anyone could kill without mercy. I know that those who die by his hand deserve it, but I don’t think I could do it. That being said, I can’t wait for the next Sam Pope book.
Is this Sam’s last hurrah? Is this when age starts creeping into his abilities and finally takes it’s tole? This book give these and a few other questions from the start of the book. It develops very deliberately into a classic Sam Pope story. Sam finds himself, again, having to make a lot of hard decisions for himself and others. Must read adventure!
Another great read. I have read all of the Sam Pope books in order and have never been disappointed. Each book is action packed and very difficult to put down. I will now start to read the next book in the series, The Kingdom. A big thank you to the author Robert Enright, and from me another well deserved 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wonderful read, meeting new people, working for a while and helping so many. Again, fast paced and on the road to survival. Sam can't seem to get a break. But he gets the bad guys for sure. This is the first ever I have been consumed by someone's writing. It only gets better.
At least 40% of this individual book was a rehash from the past 7 books in the season. One more in the series. . . I will read it to finish the series, after breaking noses and arms, after Sam gets more gunshot wounds, and stabbed a few more times, perhaps Jamie will tell his dad that it’s now time.
I’ve read each book up to this one and the first 2 or 3 were good. By book 4 the repetition of looking back at the previous plots was beginning to get boring and I found myself skipping pages. This was the worst for me of keep repeating what had happened in previous books so I won’t read on now. The plot is now getting boring and I’ve lost interest… so time to look for another book.
This was the 7th in this series and to say it WAS the best!!!! Is an understatement. I have been told off by my wife for neglecting her!!! Well worth been told off for this read!!! If you get the chance READ ON !!!!
Read this book in 2 sittings..just impossibly to put down…each page each chapter you must know the answer too.. Sam pope is right…something must be done outside the law to keep to the law…..next one please.
I read this in a day. It was build up of sam pope coming back into action after swearing a life of peace. I don't have alot to say other than I enjoyed it from start to finish. Is book 8 out yet? I do hope so.
Sam is back in London working as Jonathan Cooper at the youth center. A group of bullies put his friend in a coma and he can not stand by without doing something so Sam is on the loose. Fast paced action packed good reading.
Upon his return from the states, Sam declares that the fight was over for him and, having been declared dead, he is starting anew. Bit life it appears will not allow him to do that. Will he stay dead or come back and make others dead?
Another wonderfully written episode in the life of our hero Sam Pope. Fast paced and gritty, you wonder as you read of Sam has finally met his match! A rollercoaster of a ride from start to finish, once you start you just can't stop!
The author writes beautifully and there’s such a depth to the characters that you really feel like you know them well. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
79-2025: our hero is again dragged back into his former life, and rights some wrongs. The bad guys picked on a friend of our hero, and he had to fix things. There were a few too many long flashbacks to previous books, which lost a star. But our guy does some justice.
Another excellent story by Robert Enright in the Sam Pope series. Lots of the usual characters and a great storyline. Plenty of action and a storyline that moved at a very fast pace.Looking forward to reading more.
Love these books and SAM is a reat man but i do get fed up reading the same thing over and over again of the people he has lost ect , Just carry on with the story
