When you create The Desired Brand Effect in your business, growing your business becomes simpler and more fun
I have been in the Jewelry business for over forty years and have had the pleasure of dealing with most of the top jewelry artisans in the industry, as the leader of Hoover and Strong. Although we sell material to the best craftsmen and women, there are too many jewelers that haven’t received the attention they deserve. They make beautiful jewelry, but only have a local or limited following. I feel the answers are in The Desired Brand Effect, as I see many jewelers that don’t have a decent website with large pictures that show to the jewelry’s detail, or a decent product brochure or no email campaign.
I’ve seen the jewelry industry shrink over 40% in the last twenty years and I wish this book came out back then. However, The Desired Brand Effect, along with the Flourish and Thrive Academy is here now to help jewelers succeed. A metalsmith usually goes to school to learn their trade and the same effort should be made to run a successful jewelry business. Tracy spends a good portion of the book telling readers how to get out of the mindset “I must make every piece of jewelry myself “, because many jewelers never get out of this phase to achieve their goals.
The Desired Brand Effect transitions into marketing, sales, customer service and promotions. Hoover & Strong is a 109-year-old American Jewelry manufacture that has relied on our catalog for most of our history. Five years ago, we surveyed customers and with the results of that survey, we decided to eliminate our two product catalogs, so that we could focus on our website and internet marketing. Tracy appropriately focuses on websites, internet, building email customers lists, etc. Most important was how to build your own customer list that you own and not to solely rely on Amazon and Etsy.
As with every business book I’ve read, I picked up some good tips on internet advertising and podcasts from The Desired Brand Effect for H&S. I’ve read many business books and require my managers to read two Jim Collin’s books: Good to Great and Great by Choice. The Desired Brand Effect has many similar concepts, but relates directly to Jewelry businesses and is my recommendation for any jewelry owner.
Packed with super helpful information that is easy to understand and utilize in order to step up your online brand marketing. It’s great to get a broader perspective on what boosts engagement as well as some great tips on jewelry.
