This was the first cu-de-sac kids book I read. New to these books, I wasn't yet familiar with the kids in Blossom Hill Lane, but it didn't take away the experience of enjoying the little story even if it was the only book I read. I would recommend it for kids (not very young kids), maybe around 8 years up. The young man who is the main focus of the story really wants to please his grandfather for father's day. In this short read you can really see the child cares and thinks about his grandfather.
This was a cute story about Eric wanting to make something for his Grandpa for Father's day since his dad has died. He tries to go to art class with Stacy but that doesn't work so he makes him pickle pizza-- his favorite food. Sweet!
Great books for kids!! I loved the Christian influence and my 6 year old son could relate to the situations while still reading the book himself!! HIGHLY recommend!!
This is number 8 in the Cul-De-Sac kids book series. I like this series because they are about simple events that could happen in any kid's life. Beverly Lewis also does a wonderful job of showing kids how God can be a part of their every day life as well.
Fun, silly, and sometimes downright crazy...these kids learn about friendship, kindness, talents, loving others, and much more all through the lens of scriptural principles.
While recommended for 7-10 year olds by the publisher, I read them to my 4 and 6 year old daughters and they love them. Actually, so does my 2 year old!
Eric feels glum about Father's Day because his dad has died and because he has no money to buy something for his live-in grandfather. He joins Stacy at her art class to make something for his grandfather, but it is not finished in time. He suddenly has an idea to make pizza with pickles, his grandfather's favourite food. He makes the pizza, but some of the kids sample it and gag. Eric's grandfather finds the pizza in the fridge on Father's Day, warms it up, and loves it.
