I appreciate what they were doing, but gosh, after their relationship grew as a bit more than friends (at least for the prince) for some reason it kept feeling like it was going in a backwards direction when it should have felt as if it was moving forward.
I first read the manhwa/manga but it was progressing too slowly for my liking.I just couldn't stand waiting every week for one chapter release, the story captivated me.To insanity hahaha,my patience was exhausted, I just had to find the novel and thankfully I did.It was worth it (not a spoiler).Reading the novel I was caught in a roller coaster of emotions (i wanted to cry but my eye's wouldn't let me).But I believe the ending could have been extended (more romance and erotic scenes).Whole heartedly love the Poliana(spelling from the novel) depicted in the manga/mannga.I'm in love with Sir Pol and have a crush on Lucius the first.
2.75 I love love the art and how Sir Pol is drawn, it’s refreshing to see her have the actual body a soldier in war for 6 years and then a knight for 10 would require. I also really liked the grim realistic depictions of being a woman in the army, enemies are every where, even your allies might try to assault you. I also liked how the whole conquering the continent thing took 10 years and that Luxos realised he likes Sir Pol after all those years.
The only thing is, we just skimmed through all the political intrigue and actual war strategies, conquering everything was just too easy with one ambush here or there. Idk if it’s because the real focus will be the politics when they get back home to Acrea or if the author doesn’t want or doesn’t know how to write political world building. I’ll wait until the next volume/season to judge properly but political world building is so important, it doesn’t have to be GOT level but it needs to be there. And second of all, the whole imperialism plot line idk, it’s iffy but I do like that it’s realistic. The king isn’t going to be some angel saint, he’s going to try to fulfil the wish of his father like many rulers did in real life. I also think that maybe this entire part could have been a flashback. We could have had about 10 chapters of this, showing how Pol got to where she is, having the other knight warm up to her and then seeing Luxos think about her so affectionately.

I started this series about 3 years ago, and I have finally finished the manwah( although I read the book too). I fell in love with the storyline, characters, and the strength of Paulina. This is a story of overcoming, femininity, love, and seeing the ups and downs of Paulina and her life journey. The ending fills my heart with such incredible joy.
SO GOOD I DID NOTHING BUT READ THIS FOR 2,5 DAYS STRAIGHT. i love how realistic it is about the misogyny that women had to face back then (and even now tbh).
