Elyce loves hiking in nature, riding horses, watching wildlife, swimming under a blue sky, digging in the dirt, and sitting in front of a fire with a good book. She enjoys these things even more in the company of friends and family. Add wine and chocolate, and voila! It’s a beautiful life.

Oh, yes – and she has a very special place in her heart for wolves…

A great addition to the Rabbit River series! It's so nice to be back with the pack!

Just Desserts for Christmas is the story of Detective Dave and Lauren, Mari’s sister. Like all the Rabbit River books, there’s a beautiful, touching romance. But it’s different from the rest. Neither of the main characters is a shifter, nor do they know anything about shifters. Another difference is that children play an important part in the story.

Author Elyce de Reefe does not avoid tough issues in her writing. This book is no different. By the same token, she has smart, capable females, strong, caring men, and great action scenes. Her more intimate scenes are romantic, sexy, and exquisitely down to earth.

One more thing – while this is the story of Lauren and Dave, we do get to catch up with the rest of the pack. It’s so much fun to reconnect with the wonderful characters we’ve come to know and love and to see what’s going on in their lives.

Of course, now I want more. I can hardly wait for the next book in the series! Once you read this one, you’ll know why!

Don’t miss Just Desserts for Christmas! Highly recommended.

Packs a punch

I received a free copy of this book from a Goodreads giveaway. The following review is my own thoughts of the book.

I have read every book in this series, so far, and this one is a doozy. It picks up months after Jesse's story. While it may be possible to read as a standalone, I think it has a few spoilers as such. I also think you get a better sense of the world and characters by reading the series in order.

The book is written with several povs, but they are easy to follow. The characters are interesting, sometimes annoying, but easily seen as real. The writing is good, though there were some minor editing issues, not enough to annoy me and make me stop reading. There is a little violence and language and an adult scene or two, but not erotic. Overall, I enjoyed this book and look forward to Mari's story.

This book had so much going on, so much action/twists. I was happy to see Elizabeth's story somewhat completed. I love how all of the stories intertwined without Dave or Lauren knowing about Mari’s friends. I absolutely loved Lauren’s kids, they were so adorable. Each character is so detailed they bring the story to life, and let you connect with them. The ending is so romantic, one of my favorite parts. This book can be read as a standalone, but you will get so much more out of it if you know all of the characters. I highly recommend this holiday read.

This story is a mix about The Rabbit River Pack and how detective Dave and Mari's sister Lauren come together at threatening and dangerous situations. Greg Rivio comes out of the woodwork and Elizabeth is in danger. She is heavily pregnant and Cray isn't letting her out of his eyes and arms. Dave is busy searching for burglars that also broke into Lauren's house. Really? Well, Lauren's ex, Troy is out of prison and is a possessive and dangerous man and he wants Lauren back. With those two violent men in the mix, Dave is busy hunting them while trying to keep Lauren and her kids safe. The story was exciting and suspense-packed. The only difference between Lucas' wolf pack and Dave is that Dave doesn't change into a wolf. Dave is as overprotective and willing to keep his woman and the kids safe as all the men in the pack are. His love knows no boundaries.

Just Desserts for Christmas Book 7 - The Rabbit River Saga

Absolutely loved this instalment of The Rabbit River Saga. Lots of plots and twists but also combined all the lovable characters that we've met in earlier books.
Would recommend this whole series to anyone who enjoys a shifter romance with a side of intrigue and action! Can't wait for the next instalment .... I'm desperate to find out what happens with Lucas and Mari!!

Due to the holidays, this book for pushed back a little. If I had been smart, I would have pushed the holiday back till I was finished. It was that good. The characters and the setting were perfect. A new author for me, definitely a keeper. Now to go read the other books in this series.
I received this book free (ARC) for a honest review.

Good story about h with 3 children and no money. The H is a police officer she had a fling with but she denied him more, but he wants to help her. I really liked how the children were written, they felt very real. No shifters in this story and the H is fighting hard to win reluctant h. I really liked this couple.
