This is a thoughtful and precious book. It gets under the skin of what it is to be a midlife woman. I'm a man with a menopausal partner. Reading this has shifted me. I am grateful for reading it.

As men we don't do the hormonal rollercoasters, we don't do child birth, periods, etc. We are the beneficiaries and perpetrators of sexism and the ageist narratives woman are bombarded with. We're certainly not educated to think, listen and understand the differences and to embrace the journey women face.

I knew little about perimenopause and menopause, and certainly I knew nothing about navigating them. This enlightening book doesn't preach - it asks useful, helpful questions, and highlights both issues and possibilities. It's kind of a Haynes Manual for nurturing what you love! It's top of my give away list for anyone hitting midlife, man and woman. Thank you Rachel.

This book is a fabulous easy read and covers so many different topics that affect women in midlife, giving practical and simple to follow solutions. From health related issues right through to mindset, sex and relationships, career, transition and of course the elusive menopause that we all wish we knew more about, and much more. It is written in a way that makes it easily understandable and fun to read. From a woman who experienced early onset of menopause in her early 40's and is now in her 50's, it is clear that Rachel knows her topics well, not just professionally but also through lived experience. Highly recommend this book to any woman traversing the midlife maze. I believe it is helpful for women in their 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and beyond.

The author is such a refreshingly positive voice for midlife. My favorite part was the reflection questions for journaling along. It is not that the author provides guidance that is not new or mind blowing, but that she challenges the reader to be personally accountable and encourages action. I like her style and felt motivated to take personal action for my happiness, reframing the next stage in life with greater opportunities and goals to conquer.

Good overview, if not a bit too pep-rally. Points you in the direction of more in-depth books out there.

Lots of good thought provoking ideas in this book as there are in the writer's podcast. I had to knock off a star though for the swear words used as emphasisers in the writing. Not sure why she did that. Otherwise a good read for women in midlife.

Where was Rachel Lankester when I was experiencing Menopause!

I recently read, Rachel’s book and wished that she had written it when I was experiencing peri menopause. Her book is a combination of her story plus extensive research Rachel has undertaken to provide the reader with practical and easy to understand advice on coping with the big ‘M’.

The good news is that the transformation from pre to post menopause can be an exciting time of life, despite the hot flushes & mood swings and loss of libido.

Rachel’s book is not just for women in perimenopause but there is valuable information on life after Menopause, how to age well and making the most of this Magnificent time of life.
