Tim Macnamara sent Addison Gracen packing three years ago with words of accusation ringing in her ears. She left behind their shattered dreams and the life they had hoped to build together but she hasn’t forgotten the plans they made. When Tim’s mother finds a way to make their plans of a sanctuary for troubled youth come to fruition it’s time for Addie to come home. The welcome isn’t warm but she’s determined to make things right, both with Tim and with the dreams they once had.
I love finding new authors, and Amanda J Hadlock is no exception.
This story is a beautiful second chance romance and is stunningly addictive to read. I could feel myself sink into their world, their arms reaching out in invitation to accompany them on their journey.
Tim is a stubborn man. Blaming Addi for their failed relationship, in order to keep his anger from shrinking because then he’d be left with having to acknowledge that he played an equal part in tearing both their hearts to shreds.
I can relate to that because that what we all do isn’t it. Holding onto our anger so we don’t have to deal with the pain. I’ve done exactly this with my husbands suicide and believe me holding onto your anger is not to be recommended but it’s also a great help in keeping those walls up around your heart.
Watching Tim fight his feelings for Addi with the determination of a blood hound having caught a scent was funny and yet heartbreaking. Men are so stubborn!!! Lol
Addi is a beautiful character. She’s a woman living with pain and guilt of the past, unable to move on because she’d lost the one thing her heart beat for.
Nobody wants to simply survive. We all strive and hope to live a life of happiness. Addi had her heart and life ripped apart and while it was heartbreaking to watch, it also solidified the understanding of her strength of character and mind.
I loved the addition of Bobby and Tawny. They were fantastic additions and enhanced this already wonderful read.
Having a front row seat to the story of Tim and Addi’s second chance at attaining their dream and finding their way to each other again was so touching and heart warming.
Amanda J Hadlock has written this beautiful story with an obvious love and talent for her art.
My mom gifted this book to me a few years ago and I just picked it up. It was a good easy read! I did enjoy the character growth of Addie and Tim. At first, I thought Addie was very whiney and quite annoying. Tim I thought to be arrogant and quite rude. Both needed to figure out how to get over themselves. Tawny and Bobby were characters I grew to like. I didn’t much care for them at first. I felt like the dialogue dragged quite a bit and was bland throughout the book. Once the center got going the story finally picked up and things got going. The book was good, I didn’t mind reading it, but it was easy to put down and walk away from. Nothing was really holding me into the story. I will not be reading book 2.
5 star An amazing story you just cant put down!!!!... Addie and Tim will have you sucked into their story from page 1!!! Tim is a loving caring man who is terrified to be hurt again, Addie blames herself for all the mishaps in his life and hers.... will they ever be able to forgive each other and trust again? This is a wonderful story of love, forgiveness, and others finding their way through heartache and mishaps, you wont be able to put it down!
Something about western romance, I just love them. This is Amanda’s first book and she’s nailed it. The characters are relatable, down to earth, and just good people. It is such a refreshing read. Well paced, well written and just really well done. I loved it and I can’t wait for book #2!
