I really enjoyed this trilogy!! The last book was my absolute FAVORITE but the first two were good too!

👎🏼Why not 5⭐️? There is definitely a lack of details about the world/backstories at the beginning and I was pretty confused when I first started reading but I was able to figure it out quickly!

👎🏼 Why not 5⭐️? I wasn’t as engaged with this second book as i was with the first book. Nothing really took me by surprise until the very end. The author seems to foreshadow and spoil things before they happen.

I have to say, the series was a rollercoaster, maybe not so much as TOG or ACOTAR, but a rollercoaster nonetheless. What surprised me about this series was its ability to use both cliches and the unexpected to make it an entertaining story. Enemies-to-lovers is a well-used trope, as is many other parts of this book—kidnapped by the enemy, memory loss, magic, true love’s kiss and the power of love, etc.—yet there were still surprises throughout the story: Ansel’s death, Josephine’s betrayal, Coco’s mother, Claud’s identity, Nicholina’s backstory, Reid’s memory loss, etc.

Shelby haphazardly handled two plot holes—where Bas went after his fight with Lou and the Troupe de Fortune and where Gaby went after the Mascarade des Cranes. My biggest complaint about the book, though, is Reid. I found him a very dislikable character because of his closed-mindedness and arrogance—the entire second book was him refusing to use magic and most of the third book was him failing to recognize his wife—and I never fully understood Lou and Reid’s love arc. However, the humor found in characters such as Lou and Beau, as well as the rather wholesome end, made up for Reid. Not to mention, the author definitely managed to make me cry a couple times (whenever Ansel was involved). Overall a worthwhile read, but I wouldn’t read it again.

ate this up, it was a really easy read. easy to follow, the relationship between reid and lou was built in a way that didn’t feel rushed and felt very real and not forced. loved their dynamic throughout the whole thing, as well as the coco + beau background slowburn AND lou and ansel’s bond.

there were no questions i had that remained unanswered by the end which was a pleasant surprise. the only thing i would have changed is ansel’s death 😭 i loved him too much and when they were all introduced i truly thought him and célie would end up together. they were both soft and cute and imo would have made a good pair, especially with both of their developments by the end.

didn’t expect morgane to be the big bad for the entire trilogy, at some points it felt like it was dragging but new developments would crop up and it would make sense.

so yes it was good!

Es una trilogia increible.
El primer libro se pasa muy rapido, la relacion de Lou y Reid y como ambos empiezan a cambiar el uno por el otro, como empiezan a atravesar dificultades para poder estar juntos y el giro final es espectacular.

El segundo libro si es mas denso, cuesta mucho leerlo, pero no quita que tenga momentos memorables, desarrollo de personaje a un gran nivel y sobre todo lo que ocurre en la recta final.

Por ultimo, el tercer libro es igual que el primero, muy rapido de leer, te lleva de la cima hasta lo profundo, una montaña rusa de emociones y con el que considero es el capitulo final mas emotivo.

A los otros dos, leidos en marzo, no me gustaron, me parecieron aburrido, le falto sazon a los últimos dos, eso sí, el final del tercero estuvo bueno, pero en general no me gustaron los últimos 2

The all trilogy was pretty cool, the concept is super popular like “witches, hunters, werewolves ect..” and yet this was an original experience. Especially with Louise, my personal favorites. The romance is so good, just like the writing style. Loved it.

Jestem przeszczęśliwa, że trafiłam na tą trylogię. Mamy tu tematykę czarownic i ich łowców oraz zaaranżowanego małżeństwa, wszystko to co lubię, akcja była dynamiczna, momentami pękałam ze śmiechu a momentami zalewałam się łzami, jeżeli chcecie czegoś nietypowego to polecam sięgnąć po tą pozycję!
