I love it! This new take on the Lathar is fantastic! I get my PNR and SciFi Romance fix all in one go. I enjoyed seeing, yet again, how the emperor is towards all his people, I really hope he finds his empress at some point in the future, and the surprise glimpse into the heart of the prince was such a wonderful bonus. The characters in this book are amazing, and I love that some of the humans are just that little bit more. The author kept the action and danger high while enthralling me with the romance. This book is a fantastic addition to the series and I can’t wait to see where the Easter eggs will lead us.
I totally love any of the books in Mina Carters Warriors of the Lathar and Lathar Mercenaries series. These books are automatic one-clicks for me. The women in these series are strong. If they don't start out that way they certainly become that way. The men are hot. They love their women and are totally dedicated to them. The stories are well written and flow nicely. There are few if any typos. Sometimes the British colloquialisms throw me for a loop. The characters are all very different and there's no mistaking one for the other. They don't merge into one in my mind. Locations and scenes are described so that you can easily picture them in your mind. Each book has it's own HEA for the main couple but there's always a little something that let's you know that there will be another book to follow. I just wish that the stories were a little longer.
I absolutely loved this story!!! I loved getting to know Cade and more about the Vorr in this newest book in the Lathar. We also get to know more about the President as well since his sister Elise is Cade's fated mate. Cade is different than the rest of the Lathar and we get to find out why in this story. I loved getting to see him come more of his shell, especially with Elise. He was worried about what she will think of him and his differences but he doesn't lie to her. His differences could get him killed, along with all his family (and planet) but he still shares them with Elise. I loved how Cade was with her. I loved how he took building the bond with her, pushing some but never too far. Elise and Cade just have that magnetic charge between them that keeps them coming back together. I read this story in one sitting as it pulled me in from beginning to end. I loved watching them build their connection among all of the politics and personalities they had going on. They are on earth with all the bigwigs from both sides trying to foster relationship for the mating program. This might be the 16th book in the series but it never felt duplicated or boring. I loved getting to come back to the world of the Lathar and learn more about our new recent factions that have been introduced along with following other storylines that were started in previous books and seeing them more fleshed out. I hope that there are still many stories to come in this series as I absolutely love and enjoy this world and these characters! I can't wait to see what other surprises are coming! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I love this series. It's about the Lathar and their mate program, where women from Earth sign up to be mated to the Lathar, and the matches are made genetically.
Cade is (the only?) Vorrtan which is a race engineered generations back to fight against the biggest enemies of the time. They are usually killed when their lineage is discovered, but Cade has hidden his changes most of his life.
When he comes to Earth he meets President Murphy and his aide/sister/friend for life, Elise. There is a kind of funny scene where Cade smells his mate's scent (the Vorrtan are highly scent based) and wonders/assumes that Cam Murphy is his mate, but then realizes it's because Cam and Elise are so close (and related) that he smells like Elise, who is in actuality Cade's mate.
They get together pretty quickly, but Elise is not technically eligible for the mate program since she is still married and her ex won't sign the divorce papers.
There is a zealot contingent on Earth that comes into play in this book, and when he needs to, Cade shows his true self by shifting into his Vorrtan form. Elise still wants him and the other Lathar see him as family because of who he faced to save the President, and Latharian higher ups in that crisis.
I really enjoy this series, and was excited to read Cade's book after he was introduced in the last book. Mina Carter is one of the best alien romance writers out there.
The Lathar universe has many different cultures and here is a new addition: the Vorr. This author weaves so many twists here that a reader could suffer whiplash. Political intrigue abounds, Lathar clan clashes, upheaval on Terra, alien hating Terrans, an insufferably jealous Latharian prince, an "ex" that just won't let go, and hideous murders just to name a few. Cade is of the planet Vorr, but he keeps his "other" hidden because of the prejudices of the Lathar. This story, unlike others in this series, is mainly set on Terra (Earth) but still involves politics, subterfuge, alien hating Terrans, and Terran President Cameron Murphy and his honorary sister Elise Beaufort. The reader is treated to the background of Cam and Elise, as well as the family history of Emperor Daaynal As a hunter/predator Cade has a highly developed sense of smell, far above any other Lathar. As part of the Lathar party landing on Terra he senses his mate but is stimmed to sense the President as his possible mate. This leaves him confused but not immune to the idea; giving Fate credit that she knows what she's about. Eventually, all is set straight, and events are put in motion. This is a fascinating story and one I took great enjoyment in reading. A secondary character, Risyn B'Kaar, throws his hat into the mate ring at the end so more stories will be coming. I willing write this ARC review.
Cade is a Vorrtan hiding in plain sight. He may look like any other Lathar (with minor differences) but he is hiding a humungous secret! He's part of a diplomatic party sent to Earth, not something he ever envisioned himself doing.
When he catches the scent of his mate he's confused. Is his mate really the President of Earth or is his mate WITH the President of Earth. His people don't care about sexual orientation or how many people are in a relationship - he just wants to know!
Enter Elise. She is the President's Executive Assistant, former foster sister and best friend. She knows his secrets and most likely where all the bodies are buried cos' Cam is a President unlike the others. He's a man of action - one who threatened to disappear her ex for her numerous times!
I loved this opposite attract, interspecies, no lies from the get-go tale! Cade hides his secrets well but he knows he can't hide them from his mate. I heart the bromances that go one between the crew mates, they put Joey and Chandler to shame.
This is a long series but each book feels fresh with just enough cross-over to settle you quickly into the world and no huge info dumps. Looking forward to #17!
Cade was not Lathar. He was Vorr. But they didn’t know a great deal about what he truly was. Being part of the entourage to meet the Earth President was new and different from his world. The humans and Lathar were creating a program to bring human brides for the Lathar Warriors. He certainly didn’t expect to find his mate. Elise had been President Murphy’s Personal Assistant from the beginning. She was also his sister. But Cam didn’t allow anyone near her. She was protected and he wasn’t about to add her to the list of eligible women. I love that at first Cade caught the scent of his mate but was surprised when it was coming off the President. It was when it was finally narrowed down that thinks heated up. He was hooked. Elise is protected but there is something more going on with her brother. When these two finally meet up, it is electric. Cade however does make a mistake. He doesn’t know the human all that well and that is a big issue. You know in your mind you are saying, “oh no.” Elise was very open minded and always supportive. We find a great deal about the President and his sister. We also learn about secrets hidden. Even Rohn and Risyn become a bit more interesting. I love these stories.
Lathar, humans, and the intriguing Vorrtan, all hiding secrets and trying to outdo each other. These characters are intense, full of magnetism and strength that keeps me imagining the scenes and enjoying the action. Cade was an Alpha predator with powerful self-control, yet gentle and overprotective. I really liked his character, I was struck by the differences in his species and how he cared, he took all possible measures and was willing to sacrifice himself to keep the secret of his own. Cameron kept me intrigued the whole time waiting for him to do something weird with all the references to being dark and dangerous about him and I was left looking forward to his story. The gossip about the emperor cannot be ignored either and I will be watching to see what for that. Action, suspense, exciting scenes, intense emotions, funny comments, secrets, mystery, intrigue, violence, fanatic villains, romance and passion. I love these alien stories! I voluntarily reviewed this copy which I enjoyed.
I loved how Cade's character was so sweet, considerate and protective towards others as well as Elise. Loved finding out more about peripheral character like President Murphy through Elise's eyes, and Berrick through Cade's. Both of these characters will probably get their own stories eventually, but they became more rounded in this story. Great introduction to a new species of alien and quite the turnaround for some characters that were not quite as princely or forgiving, as they should have been Elise and Cade's evolving connection was the usual insta-mate scenario, with the usual "things aren't really what they seem" issues. Well written as usual, great world building and descriptive fight and romance scenes. While I was given an ARC from this author, I definitely think it worth anyone's time and $$, am freely providing this review and really looking forward to the next book in the series.
Cade has been hiding in plain sight. And then he meets his mate. When danger finds her will he continue to keep his secrets? I enjoyed this latest addition to Mina Carter's Warriors of the Lathar series. Cade doesn't expect to find his fated mate on the Earth expedition but when he scents her he isn't sure she can accept his differences. Elise isn't eligible for the mating program but she is willing to grab an opportunity when it is presented. But when her love for Cade is used against them will she survive the fallout? I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Cade and Elise learn a out each other. It was effortless even as they were both keeping secrets. I love that Elise accepted Cade as he is. With each secret she uncovered she continued to keep an open mind and heart. I loved seeing Cade blossom under that acceptance even as he fought to hide his true nature. This story is a well written enjoyable read and I look forward to where Ms. Carter will take us next.
This series just keeps getting better with each new turn! There are secrets on both sides of this story, and there are places in the pages where I felt like the humans were out to sabotage the peace, and then it turned around and read like the Lathaar were up to something shady too. I mean, I got both sides' trepidation, and it made for a great story. But Cade and Elise outshone all the rest of it with the way their love story unfolded. It was mesmerizing. I love the way Ms. Carter brings back elements from previous books in the series to totally tie us in. I've been a fan of this series from the beginning, and I know that I will be waiting impatiently for the next one to be released as well! I received an ARC from the author, and am voluntarily leaving a review
I cannot get enough of the Lathar or the Warborne.
A fantastic story with Cade Vorr who we met in Alien Sentinel's Mate rescuing Risyn B'Kaar. Guarding a secret that could get him and his people killed and surrounded by many willing to do said killing, Cade treads a fine line through the whole story. I found all the characters well crafted and really loved to hate Rohn (until the end). The story doesn't slow down and the unexpected champions at the end made me smile. have I said I love this series? Well I do and I grab each new one as it is released.
I am still waiting for Daaynal'a match and with the hints in this book - it may happen sooner rather than later (fingers crossed). Now I have new Lathar that are needing books - Rohn, Risyn, Cam, and Berrick.
Cade is a Vorrtan. He's living among the B'Kaar. Cade must hide his true identity due to old prejudices from his Lathar brethren. Cade's kind is feared and despised due to their origin.
Elise is the sister of human President Murphy. More like adoptive sister rather than blood sister. She's also his assistant.
Cade is intoxicated and intrigued when he smells his mate on Murphy. Luckily his nose guides him to the woman herself.
Cade and Elise face numerous obstacles in their courtship including an ex-spouse, an animal attack, a murder investigation, amorous suitors, prejudices, and jealousy. But they do find their happy ending.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and am leaving a voluntary review.
The series plot is progressing along nicely with the emperor and his senior team, along with Cade and the B’Kaar arriving on Earth. They spend time with the president. This is where Cade meets his mate, Elise, who’s the president “sister”. They have instant chemistry and it was fun to watch their relationship grow. We find out what it means to be a Vortaan, the race before that started the Lathar. We get a better glimpse of Cameron Murphy, Earth’s president. I like that Elise is tough, given her background of having to fight for her life since a young age. She’s sweet and soft but has the strength to stand her ground and not put up with anything. I recommend this book and look forward to the next one in the series.
I really enjoyed Cade’s story. I liked the meeting between the humans and the alien Lathar warriors. the two main human characters are intriguing, Cam and Elise have a hidden background with other characters introduced who I am sure will have their own stories shortly. The humans think they are spying on the aliens, which was an amusing twist to the story. Cam rescues Elise from a bad situation and that scene was just very entertaining. Great story and great characters , and I thought the ending was good! Would love to read more in this series. I received an ARC from the author, and am voluntarily leaving a review
What a read! This one is by far Mina Carter’s best! I’ve been hooked on this series from its start…there is always a refreshing twist with each but this latest, well, was a nonstop page turner. What I LOVED about this book was the introduction of the species Vorr in great detail and it has me wanting more! I loved the hunting aspect of finding a mate instead of some computer program matching a warrior up with their mate. Elise is a strong heroine which is always appreciated as a female reader but Cade was the BEST MALE WARRIOR ever written by Carter! I would love to see more Vorr warriors, perhaps a spin-off of some kind. I can’t wait until the emperor finds his mate….Bernick too!
While I fell in love with the Lathar from Book 1 in the series, this one may be my favorite. Mina has done an amazing job creating this world and I loved seeing her bring the Lathar to Earth. With each story we see more nuances of their society and how similar they are to Earth.
Cade is not what everything thinks he is and if the Lathar find out, he will die. Elise is the Presidents sister and technically a married woman, both which make her off limits to Cade. Even so, he knows she's his mate. He will do anything he can to have and protect her.
I would recommend reading the entire series in order to get the most out of the story but it isn't necessary.
Elise and Cade's love story finds the Lathar Emperor and his entourage on a diplomatic trip to Earth. Elise is officially the assistant to Earth President Cam Murphy. Cade is travelling with the Lathar. Before Cade even meets her, Elise's scent identifies her as his mate. Their sexual attraction is off the charts, but Cade has secrets that make their relationship difficult. Clan distinctions and human biases threaten to tear them apart. A militant, radical, political group proves itself to be very dangerous to the Earth/Lathar alliance. I always love a Lathar story. These intelligent, uber strong, sexy aliens are delicious. Enjoy!
Another gripping chapter in the saga of the Lather. Another variation on the prototype Lather Alien Male God of Romance! Ms. Carter continues to not let go of my fantasies. Well worth the investment in reading time and dollars. A five Star romantic adventure sending me into a hopeful new Interstellar world.
When I stumbled onto this Lather Alien Romance World, I didn't start at the beginning with Book One,. Now I wish I had read them in order as I refit the characters into order of overall story line. Therefore, although each is a stand alone, if I had it to do over again, I would read them in order. Just a suggestion.
The Lathar “world” expands again with a different Clan and a trip to Earth. Starting off with secrets held by both Elise and Cade this story grabs you from page one. Because this tale is so different from other Lathar books you don’t have to have read any of the others, the history is explained enough without boring us with fine details. Even though Elise is Cade’s fated mate he is also a romantic guy if inexperienced, but there is also a suspenseful subplot that was a happy twist. You get all of the feels and just enough action with this thrilling sci-fi read.
Another wonderful addition to the addicting Warriors of the Lathar series. I loved that we got more of the enticing Cameron Murphy, President of Earth that leaves us with more questions than answer, but this newest release is all about Elise Beaufort and the ever elusive Cade. These characters are so full of secrets that will have you flipping the pages to get more of the suspense, drama and glorious heat level throughout the storyline. I enjoyed and was highly entertained with how their story blossomed to a HEA. I can’t wait for Risyn story and the mysterious woman.
So, i wasn't really expecting the ending like he what?! Then again, i love this!!
The Emperor, once again, did a good job. He knew what was happening and he did what any good emperor do, acceptance.
This was a typical love story, but when you look at how each people in this book changed, it makes you want to see how this goes.
Mina Carter has this unique way of spinning a love story. She doesn't just write about the main couple, but she also give shine to the others in the book.
Looking forward to the Leader of the Cyber suits HEA. That will be fun!!!
Sweet love story. Cade and Elise were a perfect sweet couple. Cade was incredibly sweet and open to Elise. A virgin, Elise was patient guiding him from kissing to making love. At first he thought his mate was Cam from his scent, until he followed it to her. Very cute love story. I really enjoyed it. A little different than the excitement of the Lathar world that I love and am used to. Love the battles. I did like seeing warrior Cam. He can play presidential until his sister is threatened. Love this series. Highly recommend.
I had just reread this series before going straight into Cade’s story.
Cade is fun, he is intense and a strong character but I love his vitality and the way he interacts with Elise, and others. Elise is an interesting character as well - smart, strong and knows what she wants. It’s great to learn more of Cameron Murphy.
Lots of action and drama, super hot sexy scenes, and great character interaction.
I love this series and this book was no exception. If you've read the other books in the series you will already know some of the characters and the Lathar background. This story revolves around Cade and Elise. Both have secrets but that won't stop them from getting their HEA. The path to get there though is fraught with danger from many sides and they will have to place their trust in others to survive.
I always enjoy this series and love the way the warriors are outside of their element when they visit Earth. We learned so much more about them in this book so I have even more questions about them now. This story is about Cade and Eli, I enjoyed this one and I'm sure you will too but as I don't want to give anything away I'll just say make sure you're up to date on this series you won't be disappointed.
I absolutely love that we got to see the warriors outside of their element as they're visiting Earth. So much more was revealed in this book which of course means even more questions. I LOVE Cade & El!! Omg I don't want to give anything away so please make sure you're up to date on this series because you don't want to miss out. Please Mina keep these stories coming because I NEED more. Thank you for another FANTABULOUS read!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series, but I think this is my new favorite. Who wouldn’t want a sexy, protective, super sweet alpha male? And his true form is an added bonus! (Especially for fans of monsterly romances) - I hate spoilers so that’s all I’m saying! Read the book to find out what Cade really is.
Action, violence, some mystery and LOTS of heat fill the pages. Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop!
Cam Murphy, President of Earth is hosting a large party of Lathar. His sister Elise is his assistant. They had a rough childhood but they survived because they had each other. Daaynal has a rumor revealed about a female body guard. Cade the Vorr is hiding a dangerous secret. He and Elise are great together.the push through a lot of barriers and violence. Loved it!!!!!
