A workaholic scientist who wants to save the world and a woman who fears nothing but discovering her own destiny find themselves mixed up in a chaotic, on-the-road adventure through Europe.
Will they manage to find a middle ground between their opposing ways of life—at least for long enough to complete their mission? And could this trip lead to an unexpected romance?
“And I will be strong and brave and crazy and romantic and free. And I won’t care if it will be embarrassing or dangerous.” “Because at that point nothing will scare me anymore.”
These lines hit so much
As someone who is in STEM, fixating on just one thing and forgetting to live has been an issue for me and the way the doc comes out of her shell with the help of Dorian and how they just LIVE was beautiful and they way they authors presented the journey was captivating and makes one yearn for a trip like that in real life but also feel as if though you lived it in the novel.
“What if someone someday made her notice the way I look at her”
Initially I was engulfed because of the trip and just both the characters letting go; but the way that Mag and Dorian fall in love is just adorable and the Isabella and Yang development was a welcomed bonus!
Overall the story development was delightful, the graphics were bold, intricate and they popped out in all the best ways!
I've said it before and I'll say it again with a first single issue you don't get much - just an introduction to the characters and the basic set up. The premise was fine and I would be interested in seeing how it becomes a LGBTQ+ road trip as the description states. But in terms of this single issue it just felt very tedious. Like here's the scientist character who gave up everything for an idea that a mean corporation is going to take away from her (insert evil capitalists rubbing their hands together maniacally). Since her ex-husband says she's not fun, she goes to a bar and take her top off and get kicked out. The ex-husband is the ex-husband because she wouldn't have children and he's already moved on and found someone willing to have his children before she's even signed the divorce documents. I don't know it just felt so stale. Like tropes are tropes for a reason, but this single issue didn't add to the tropes in anyway it just felt like no deeper thoughts at all.

What a beautiful surprise. Completely different than i expected, but i was absolutely thrilled. The characters are so well written and the art is just simply beautiful.
- thank you netgalley & oni press for sending me the e-arc in exchange for an honest review. -
I feel like there was a lot packed into this first issue and while it took a bit to process, this issue ended with me being very curious about the course of the story.
