--------------------------------------------------------------------
Triggers (spoiler):

This is kinda why I'm falling out of the enemies to lovers and bullyying romances… especially high school age ones even when they’re 18. It’s usually the same shit. The guys bully the FMC because of something her parent/s did that she may or may not know about but definitely didn’t do herself but they take it out on her. Or something that happened in the past that didn’t actually happen but rather than have a bloody conversation about it he makes her life hell from then on or from their reunion years later. Is that the case here? No. This book the guys have her bullied because, wait for it, one of them has a crush on her and so isn’t paying the rest of the guys the attention he wants. That is literally the dumbest and most immature reason to target, bully and threaten someone. Then of course ultimately all of them become obsessed with her and claim they're in love with her.

I’m struggling to continue, I'm not even 40 pages in, after reading the first chapter that’s POV of Cody and I'm part way through Kaden’s and I've put the book down 3 times and walked away. I very rarely don’t finish a book but I honestly don’t know if i will for this one and if i do i don’t know what star rating i will give it but it's already got 1 star knocked off it. I don't see it being more than 3.

You’re seriously telling me four guys that were what 14/15 made a “blood promise” that they would stick together and not let anything pull them apart. Then when a girl comes along that one of them likes that his best friend gets jealous of Wesley’s attention on the girl and not on them and so he has the school bully her and tries to blackmail her but they can’t find any dirt on her so he tasksKaden with digging it up and having Lucien and himself watch her every move, learn absolutely everything about her resulting in all four of them being obsessed with her. Their solution? Let’s keep trying to find something on her so we can blackmail her into being with all four of us. Like, seriously?

“Then why are you doing this to me?” “Because we want to break you. Show you how cruel people really are and how nobody will ever give two fucks about you. At least not like we do”

Are you fucking kidding me? At this point I'm only continuing because I'm curious as to what Rebel’s secret is. Though given her reaction when Lucian forced her to her knees and unzipped his pants I can hazard a guess as to the nature.

So I kept going. It does get marginally better between her and the guys however not until her life is threatened. Even then Cody still thinks he did nothing wrong and threatens her with exposing his secret. Knowing said secret, that's fucked up. Beyond fucked up to release. It's not like it was her actions and she did anything bad. She was fucking child and to even threaten to expose that shit. I'm sorry but no.

Wesley and Kaden I can get behind. Lucien we don't really get enough from him to determine that except at the end and that had him losing points in my book the rest of them were pleading that that wasn't her she was angry, upset, grieving and to not cross that line but Lucien encouraged it basically saying if she wants to be with them then she had to do it then what felt half heartedly saying If you don't want to that's fine.

That being said, still the worst of it was Cody. Sorry but I'd never forgive him for all that crap because again (and spoiler)

Whilst the writing is good, the author paints the picture nicely I just I can't get over what the guys, namely Cody as it was mostly his doing, did/were going to do. So for that I can't give it 3 stars but I will round up for GR because of the writing not the plot/characters.

The only character I actually liked was only front and centre for like a page. Lucien's dad. I mean his son came to him with a problem dished it all out and his father backed him, supported the little harem and said well they're family too then.

Jhenna Smith did an amazing job with her debut Reverse Harem novel, The Reapers. It had everything you could want and expect when it comes to a High School, Dark Bully, Why Choose? Romance story with a leading lady in Rebel ‘Reb’ Saturn Lamour and 4 tall, hot and sexy, douchebag A-hole Alphas Wesley Fields, Lucian Hale, Kaden Sparks and Cody Andrei Henderson. All of whom play important roles and serve a purpose that we come to discover through the progression of the narrative.

From the get go the story took you on an wild adventure through a crazy and chaotic labyrinth that had you guessing and/or predicting what’s to come. Having not always knowing or expecting what is around the corner made it all the more fun and alluring, especially given all the twists, turns, hurdles and blockages that occur, which Rebel, Wesley, Lucian, Kaiden and Cody faced and endured throughout. And that's not including the slew of shocking surprises and revelations that were made and/or revealed, considering the mysteries that indicated to this throughout. Plus can't forget about the drama in this thrilling adventure, since it's what sucked you in deeper. On top of the HOT and FIERY steam that had temperatures rising for sure.

Jhenna had your mind reeling with trying to digest all the information that was spewing out at every which way, making your head spin like crazy from the absorption of it all.
But then again there was definitely a lot to unpack in The Reapers, mostly because there was so much to tell and explore, all of which is told through multiple perspectives of Rebel, Wesley, Lucian, Cody and Kaiden.
Having multiple POVs definitely helped in learning about each of the characters, through not only their mindset with their thoughts, views and opinions. But on a deeper level with understanding their emotions and feelings, considering what each of them are dealing with not only together. But in their personal lives too.

All in all, being a first time reader of Jhenna Smith she had me hooked from the get go with her book The Reapers.
It was an awesome read and I had a great time getting to know Rebel and The Reapers. Plus given the ending something tells me this is only just the beginning, since there is still so much more to come.
Safe to say I definitely can’t wait for what’s to come in the next book and see how Rebel, Wesley, Lucian, Kaiden and Cody’s story will play out.

This is a bully high school romance which follows Rebel, the main fmc, who we discover is being bullied and targeted by an organisation called The Reapers. Rebel is unaware of this and doesn't understand why she is being targeted.
She was dating Wesley, but all of a sudden he breaks it off with her and when she returns to school she discovers that he is now dating her arch enemy Brooke. Her best friend Madison is the only person that has her back as well as Madison's boyfriend Cody. Cody divulges to Rebel that it is The Reapers that are getting others to bully her, so she sets to find out who they are.
Cody, Wesley, Kaden and Lucian are four friends who are obsessed with Rebel. Wesley and Rebel were dating, but due to the others being jealous of their relationship he breaks it off with her.

Plot: 4/5 - Smut: 1.5/5 —————-> For this being a high school dark romance I was kind of vining it.

Rebel is being tormented, abused and just down right tortured at school. Turns out it’s because of “The Reapers”. A group that no one knows who they are, but they send their calling card because they hold your secret. If you don’t complete the take they send you your secret gets out.

Rebel finds out who the Reapers are by accident. Turns out her ex boyfriend, whom she’s still in love with, is one of them. Him and his three best friends. Who are all in love with her. One of these guys is also “dating” her best friend.

She becomes indebted to them and has to complete her Reaper tasks so her secret doesn’t get exposed. They still make her go through hoops even though she knows who they are… and are in love with her? make that makes sense.

Turns out someone else has become a copy cat of the Reapers sabotaging Rebel. Setting up people from school to torment her. To the extreme the real Reapers would never do.

Time goes by. More secrets are revealed. some really sad ones. Some infuriating ones. They reach a conclusion on who is the copy cat Reaper.

This ends on a cliffy. It goes out with a bang. Rebel has come full circle. I liked her at the FMC. I liked the four guys as well.
I’m a little on the fence still with Wesley. But Lucian is probably my favorite, followed by Kaden. I will be continuing this series.

Even though this takes place within a high school setting. SOME of it didn’t feel very high school. Yes, they all seemed young. IE - her having a curfew still. There being cheerleading drama. Some of it was and some of it wasn’t high school feeing. If that makes sense?

Ok

This was ok, but i won't lie i would have dnf it if it wasn't for the Storm Ridge Academy having me in a chokehold and the author deciding to merge the 2 series for their finales. The bullying of Rebel, the reaons the guys had behind it just didn't make sense and were completely flimsy and they didn't grovel or apologise. Her boyfriend dumped her for her main bully and started sleeping with her. They were all awful to her. And she fought them for a bit and then suddenly she was all in and in love with them. It made no sense. There was no redemption. No aha moment. And I hate the sleeping with other women trope and can't see how and why she'd forgive that. I actually understand and accept the guys initial plan to take down their bullies but Rebels part in it all makes zero sense. And then she has a complete personality transplant in the second epilogue. Also her big secret made no sense, yeah it's not something you'd want broadcast but also it's not like she was sleeping with a married man or a teacher ot a cam girl etc. But I'll be forced to complete the series so I'll know what's going on with the storyline when it merges with storm ridge.

potential for a great story

There were some things that really worked her and some things that didn’t. Some that could have been better thought out.

First things first, this book is really stiff and doesn’t flow organically. The dialogue seems juvenile with big words sprinkled in for effect and to make it seem like it was grown.
This is just preference, but I like my teen RH to feel more adult. This absolutely felt like an early high school book.

The reason for the revenge on the students was flimsy to me, but I love the Reaper cards idea. I love that they pit students against their tormentors. The overall Reaper idea is what kept me reading.

The whole reason for going after Rebel, garbage and her blackmail, even more garbage. I wish she would have outed herself and told those boys to go on.
I didn’t find any of the characters particularly likable.
Maybe Kaden? If I had to choose, it would be Kaden.

Am I invested enough to read the next book? Maybe.
I guess we’ll find out.

I enjoyed this book. It was a little hard for me to get into but I’m glad I kept reading. I struggled a bit because of the reasoning behind all the bullying, it feels like they should be irredeemable in Rebel’s eyes. Seems she forgave them awfully fast- I would have loved to see some groveling. I did like the Reaper card idea; it’s a fun twist instead of the typical bully romance. I’m giving this book 4 stars because it felt to forced in some spots, and again the reasoning for what the guys do is hard to overcome. However, I really liked the ending, Rebel begins to develop a backbone and is determined not to let everyone walk all over her anymore. Also, the twist with the Reaper cards was not one I saw coming and I loved that. Some of the guys are worse than the others, Kaden has to be my favorite; Cody is a hard pill to swallow but I don’t want to give anything away. In the end, I did like it. I’m looking forward to the next one. 🖤

Reap What You Sow

I loved this book! The suspense, the secrets and lies holding everything together and the raw and in depth of the characters were amazing. I couldnt put this book down I was trying to figure out who was who what was what and all the secrets of the students at Clover Bay High. Rebel moved there freshmen year and after a couple months started getting bullied. It went on all through to her senior year. After fresh off her break up from her boyfriend Wesley she is ready to just make it through and graduate. When her bestfriend boyfriend and Wesley friend Cody makes a comment about her being bullied because of the Reapers, she starts digging. When she gets her hit card and the bullying intensifies will Wesley, Cody and there 2 friends Lucian and Kaden be able to help her get to the bottom or will she be the puppet to the reapers until she graduates. This ends on a cliffhanger that shocks you to your core and makes you beg for book 2.

I love a good high school bully romance where the FMC is a badass and doesn’t take the bullying lying down. Rebel the FMC here is against the school who have been told to bully her by the Reapers, Cody, Wesley, Lucian and Kaden. Rebel has her best friend Maddison to rely on for support and struggles to cope with al the horrible things her classmates do to her. This book explores her relationship with the Reapers who have been obsessed with her for the past 3 years. Love the jealousy and in fighting between the boys as they vie for position within the harem and reapers. Lucines father is in the mafia and the group get reluctantly dragged into his business.
I really enjoyed this book and thought the character and world building was well executed, loved it that much I immediately read the second book.

Dark, Angsty, Spicy

This is a very dark bully romance. It starts off with most of the guys coming across as extremely unlikeable, and I wasn’t sure that I would root for Rebel to end up with any of them, let alone all of them. The author does a great job of subtly turning things around and convincing me that at least a few of them are redeemable, and one that I absolutely love. The bullying from the harem dries up fairly quickly and the focus turns to a couple of different mysteries that may or may not connect to each other. Rebel has been through a very triggering traumatic event, so be warned before starting if you have any triggers. There are a few surprises and twists that I didn’t see coming and I’m intrigued to see what happens next!

Great Potential

I really wanted to like this book more than I did. I'd actually give it 3.5 stars if I could. I liked the story idea. The main problems I had was the reason for the bullying seamed so flimsy especially for the bullying of Rebel. Also her secret, while I could understand why she wanted to keep it quiet, didn't seem like enough to let yourself be blackmailed. I also didn't see the guys really do anything to redeem themselves so that her loving them could be believable. I did like it enough to read the next book to see what happens and to see if things improve

4.5 ⭐

I don't know what to say about this book, I did really like it, the characters were well fleshed out, there was plenty of action and spice. But and its a biggish one, I couldn't get my head round the central premise of why the Dealers were exposing secrets. Even from the back stories, it didn't sound a whole lot worse than what Rebel had been subjected to by them. I still am going to read the next books, I do feel invested in them, and after that ending I really want to see where they all go.

Phenomenal

I read many many books but this year this book has to be one my favourites.
I'm not going into to much info but this book has you gripped from page 1.
The main fmc isn't a standard girl who gets all the guys etc nope she's a unwilling victim in a sick and twisted game of jealousy revenge and love.
The guys are bullies but not in the way you are led to believe.

I really really loved this book and will happily wait for book 2

Rebel is fire!!!

I didn’t see that ending coming which doesn’t happen often. I had most of the story figured out and thought I was going to be disappointed by the ending but then Rebel becomes fierce and I love her all over again. I can’t wait to watch her grow more in the next book. I’m excited for the relationships within the harem to continue evolving and some of these boots to redeem themselves!

interesting twists

This was a good book that took some unexpected twists. The main character made an unexpected choice at the end and I’m interested in seeing how her character grows in the next book. The second book will be completed soon and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

3 stars 🌟

Started a bit slow. I was almost going to put it down and try again later but after reading some reviews I kept going. I love dark romance and RH books but I just felt this bullying excessive and not for any rhyme or reason. I feel like they could have explained their plan and she would have been on board to help them seek vengeance. I'm hoping book 2 brings more

This book wasn’t for me. I found the main characters unlikable. All of them. There were several editing mistakes as well.

The two things that I did like in this book was teenagers acting like teenagers and the change in leadership in the boys’ crew.

Bully romance

The fmc has had a lot of trauma and is bullied consistently in the book. The reapers also have past trauma but decide to take revenge and justice to a different level. There's lots of twists and turns and I'm excited to read book 2.

This is an excellent debut from Jhenna Smith. Loved this book, it’s dark and has a bully/ enemies to lovers theme. Different to a lot of similar books in this genre and kept me intrigued throughout until the end . Rebel is a fab character. There are so many twists and turns in this book so wouldn’t want to spoil It for anyone. Looking forward to book 2.
