Mário Augusto is a Portuguese journalist, presenter and writer. He was born on March 23, 1963 in Espinho, Vila Nova de Gaia.

He began his career as a journalist in 1985 when he was an intern in the Portuguese newspaper “O comércio do Porto”. After that he began to collaborate in other magazines and newspapers always in the Arts section, particularly, cinema.
Among other achievements he works in television where he was part of the first crew that produced a series of documentaries about the Portuguese twentieth century and also hosted many shows dedicated to cinema and the academy awards ceremonies.

Since May 2003, he coordinates and presents a program called 35mm, where he presents and comments upcoming films and also shows his interviews with stars of the European and North American cinema.
