Aberdeen and North-East Bands Through The Decades, (Nov 2022 Update) captures the history and background to the bands of the 1950s, 1960s,1970s and 1980s using archive images, and stories recounted by the musicians who performed in the bands. There is a feature about the Art Deco dance hall The Beach Ballroom in Aberdeen, and the early bands who played there from the late 1920s through to 1960. It also covers the promoters who were instrumental in giving work to local bands, and importantly bringing national acts to the North-East of Scotland, these included The Beatles at the dawn of their world wide success in January 1963.
