Christmas Spirit! 🎅🏼
I have been looking forward to this audio for some time, as soon as I knew there was going to be another three novellas to the Reindeer Falls series. They are fun, lighthearted and full of humor. They’re not only great to read or listen to during the holidays, but they are stories that will make you smile any time of the year.
Volume 2 is slightly different that this time we have three brothers who come back to town after their uncle dies to tie up lose ends. Each of them run into some trouble in the form of three besties doing their own thing around town. Having all three books bundled into one, makes it three times the fun and frivolity. I love this authors humor that it is slightly sarcastic, somewhat sassy but plenty of laughs.

¡Qué mejor para terminar mi TBR de diciembre que con estas historias cortas Navideñas!.
Tres amigas obsesionadas con la Navidad. Tres hermanos dispuestos a hacerles pasar un mal rato. Estas navidades pintan diferente.
Ok, en cuanto me enteré de que Jana Aston publicaría un volumen 2 de Reindeer Falls me emocioné demasiado. El año pasado me leí el primero y lo amé, lo disfruté por completo. Y este segundo no se quedó atrás. En esta oportunidad nos encontramos con tres relatos cortos de mejores amigas sufriendo por los hermanos Sheppard. Historias llenas de clichés, mucha Navidad y risas a montón. ¿Qué más se puede pedir?
Las tres novelas cortas nos contarán la historia de romance de todos los hermanos, regresan al pueblo porque su tío ha muerto y le ha dejado una herencia a cada uno.
- 🎄 Ryan, un grinch que debe lidiar con la policía navideña por no querer decorar la casa que heredó de su tío.
- 🐐 Jack, que al reclamar su parte del testamento no espera encontrarse con una persona que se opone a que lo haga.
- 🐾 Carter, el beisbolista estrella de la temporada necesita ganarse una oferta enorme, el único problema es que debe fingir una relación con quien quiere quedarse con el perro que heredó.
Todas me gustaron muchísimo, sin embargo, cada una tiene una puntuación diferente. Me llené de risas, aunque la de Ryan fue la que más me mató de carcajadas, por lo tanto, la que más disfrute. El de Jack me encantó con la tensión entre los protagonistas, y las cabras , no obstante, fue el que menos me gustó. Y el de Carter me sedujo enseguida con su Fake Dating, aunque no tanto como el primero, aun así, adoré este relato, sobre todo porque tiene los clichés que más amo.
Y no puedo irme sin mencionar nada de las chicas de este volumen. Maggie, Sutton y Lexi son espectaculares. Quizá fue muy conveniente que justo tres hermanos se enamoraran de este grupo de mejores amigas, pero es que son historias cortas de romance navideño, la idea es unirnos a este espíritu de la época.

The Reindeer Falls es perfecto para leer en diciembre, sobre todo si adoras esta época tanto como yo. Sí, muy cliché. Si no has leído el primer volumen te recomiendo que lo hagas, por ahora ese me ha gustado más, pero este se disfruta de inicio a fin. Y quien quita que el año que viene no tengamos otro. Fingers crossed. 🤞🏻

Fun Christmas novellas. It was more tame than this authors usual comedy but I still enjoyed them.

Elves With Benefits - Ryan has returned to Reindeer Falls to finalize his uncle’s estate and he has no interest in partaking in the Christmas cheer despite the many citations he has received from a determined elf. To Maggie Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year and it is her job to ensure that other people do as well. Every time they are together the sparks fly but who will win this battle of wills?
One Night With A Nutcracker – It all started with one goat that Sutton found abandoned on the road which led to her living in her trailer on land she didn’t own and creating her own business until the man who inherited the lands puts everything in jeopardy. Jake has plans to build a golf course and the only thing standing in his way is Sutton. She may be infuriating but there is no denying the attraction between them.

The Reindeer Falls Collection volume 1 by Jana Aston was one of my favorite audiobooks when it came out in 2019. I was so excited to go back for a visit that I couldn’t wait for Volume 2 and re-listened to Volume One again. I thought I would need to to remember stuff, but honestly Volume 2 features all new characters. And while they mention the characters and places from the first volume, you didn’t need to read them first (though you should because they were so good!).
Three hot brothers return to Reindeer Falls when they receive an inheritance from their uncle. They all start out with a bit of conflict from the three best girlfriends—the Sheppard brothers may be hot but they’re kind of assholes…aren’t they?
Elves with Benefits
Maggie is the local “Christmas Cop”. Since Reindeer Falls is is a Christmas Tourist destination, everyone on Candy Cane Lane is expected to decorate for the holidays. If they don’t, you can count on Maggie, who over-the-top LOVES Christmas, to give a citation. Ryan just inherited the house next door to Maggie. He just wants to finalize the estate and get back to Chicago. He has no intention of decorating, but Maggie won’t take no for an answer.
This one was adorable in a really over-the-top way, but it kept me smiling the whole time.

One Night with a Nutcracker
Sutton is a bit of a hippie who lives in a trailer on a local farm with goats. It all started when she rescued one, and then she found another…and another… Now she makes goat’s milk soap and her business is doing pretty well. That is until Jake Sutton shows up and informs her that she is squatting on HIS land that he plans on turning in to a golf course.
Sutton’s free ways are just perfect for loosening up Jake’s buttoned-up lawyer persona and I just LOVED the goats!
Rating: 4.25 Stars
The Bachelor on the Shelf
Carter Sheppard is a professional baseball player. The only thing his uncle left him was a dog, but he didn’t mind returning to his Christmas-themed hometown to come get the dog. He has also been tasked with cleaning up his reputation as a player. Lexi, the town librarian, is the perfect girl to help with that task. But can their fake relationship turn real?
I loved that Carter was a reader and loved his town. This one was super sweet, and I loved the shy girl and the player together.
Rating: 4.25 Stars
The Narration:
Erin Mallon is so amazing, especially at silly and sweet romance. Her voice is SO PERFECT for Jana Aston’s words that the narration brought this read up to 4.5 stars for me. Plus her man voice is just soooo sexy!
The Down & Dirty:
I’ve been in Jana Aston’s reader group since I read her first books and I feel like I have gotten to know her a bit. I love how these stories all really feel like her! They are sweet and quirky and funny, and each character has a piece of Jana in them. But Erin Mallon narrating elevated these to something super special.
Rating: 4.5 Stars, 5+ Narration (I feel like the books were sexy, but I don't remember how much!)

I got hit with all the COVID booster side effects and couldn't do much more than sit in a comfy chair with blankets over me. And this was the perfect audiobook to get me through it all. Funny, sweet, sassy, and Christmas-y.... I couldn't ask for more right now.
I will say that Maggie was almost too far over the top. Luckily she also had some of Aston's trademark sassiness and that tempered the insane Christmas spirit. So she ended up being a lot like a decent sweet wine - with enough acidity to keep it from being overly sweet.
Erin Mallon was fabulous as usual. She and Jana Aston are the perfect match!

There is nothing better than visiting Reindeer Falls around the holidays! I absolutely adore this quaint little town and its inhabitants. This boxset collection offers three sweet Christmas stories each with their own happily ever after.

Great to have the whole collection of the newest Reindeer Falls novellas in one audiobook set! And, as with the first one, all narrated by my very fave, Erin Mallon!! Jana Aston is a brilliant storyteller, especially when it comes to the Reindeer Falls crew. I definitely recommend this collection.
1 (book 4) - Elves with Benefits:
Very cute start to the next round of Reindeer Falls novellas by Jana Aston - I truly adored the first ones so I knew it was going to be hard to beat them. This one was cute, but definitely didn't surpass the originals (I mean, how can you get better than the founding toy company family and the 3 Winters sisters?!). But, it was very fun, and made allusions to the 3 novellas running concurrently, so I definitely have to get going on the next ones to find out about the 3 brothers and the 3 best friends (3 bros and 3 girlfriends all ending up together?! Great idea!).
This was Maggie and Ryan's story, meeting because she is basically the Christmas spirit police, giving out "tickets" to anyone that isn't doing enough to celebrate, such as decorating, when he hasn't decorated his newly inherited Uncle's house enough. She gives him a whole lot of tickets and then they end up falling for each other - and he certainly ends up feeling Christmassy by the end!
2 (novella 5) - One Night with a Nutcracker:
This one was my favourite of the three! It was all about Sutton having her goat farm where she uses goat milk to make soaps and cheese... but she's actually squatting on Jake's land, using the barn for the goats and production, and living there in an Airstream! When the Sheppard boys come back to town, Jake plans to bulldoze the old barn and build a golf course, until he shows up on his inherited property and finds Sutton ... and all of these goats! living there. A lot of fun and shenanigans ensues, with her trying to sway him to see the greatness of the goats and why they are better than a golf course. This one was brilliant!
3 (novella 6) - The Bachelor on the Shelf:
Excellent - Carter Sheppard is a professional baseball player, and Lexi is his Uncle's neighbour. The Uncle left him his dog, and Lexi (the uncles neighbor), has been looking after the dog since his passing. She loves this dog and does not want to hand him over to the grumpy guy who doesn't know poor Rudy, so she doesn't want to risk the poor dog with this guy!

I love Jana Aston in general but her Christmas stories are just brilliant. Who else would have the heroine describe the hero as wet sea otter?
Elves with Benefits sees Reindeer Falls holiday enforcement officer Maggie pitting her wits boy city home boy Ryan. Maggie is a transplant to Reindeer Falls, she lives for energy aspect of the town and its Christmas vibes. Ryan on the other hand left as soon as he could and since he returned he's had more than his fair share of tickets from the holiday enforcement officer for his lack of Christmas cheer.
I loved the banter, I loved the Christmas puns, I loved the spice.
One Night with a Nutcracker
Who knew goats, soap and ramshackle farm buildings would make a festive, banter filled Christmas story. Well that would be Jana Aston when she brought Sutton and Jake to life.
Jake Sheppard drives on to Sutton's goat farm in his porsche to find her squatting on the property he's just inherited, with her goats, airstream trailer and soap making business. Let just say he's none too pleased, but not as displeased as Sutton when he evicts her, her goats, the airstream and the soap business.

When Carter Sheppard's uncle Joe passed away leaving him his dog, Rudy, he’s a little sceptical his brothers were left Joe's house and farm land.
Lexi was Joe's neighbour, local librarian and quirky soul. Lexi loves Rudy, caring for him since Joe passed and isn't best pleased at having to give him to Carter. Lexi doesn't believe Carter will make a very good dog daddy to Rudy.
Pro baseball player Carter doesn't have the best reputation and badly needs to improve that. So obviously a fake engagement to Lexi is the best plan. She plays along, she gets Rudy. Win win?
No one suspected that uncle Joe had a plan. Well I think Rudy knew, he was far to helpful for a dog who knew nothing!
This is a banter filled Christmas treat. Set in the delightfully festive town of Reindeer Falls.

While this was definitely another cute holiday romance anthology from Jana Aston, I didn't love it quite as much as the first collection. I just found that they didn't quite pack the same punch as before, although I definitely enjoyed reading them all.
Elves with Benefits - 3 out of 5 stars.
Cute enemies-to-lovers and opposites attract vibes. What brings it down is the heroine, honestly. I didn't mind her for the most part, but she did occasionally get on my nerves just because the things she said and did didn't quite feel... authentic? Some of them made me cringe to be honest. And the conflict. I REALLY didn't love the conflict. I don't think the conflict itself (what it was) was the problem, more just the reactions of both sides and the way that it was resolved...Still enjoyable though! Great banter :)

The names of these novellas, HONESTLY haha. I did enjoy this one quite a bit more than the others. Some great forced proximity goodness and some animals running romantic interference (in this case it's goats). The chemistry was great in this and I didn't mind the conflict too much.

I'm definitely not a huge holiday story lover but I fell absolutely in love with Reindeer Falls last year and was so excited to hear we would have some more novellas in this magical town. This is Hallmark movies with some lovely spice included. This is definitely not your Mom's Hallmark movie (but hey movie world, THESE would make amazingly lovely spicy holiday movies...just sayin'). Our return to Reindeer Falls brings us three best friends who may or may not believe in Christmas Magic (you have to read it to see who does and who doesn't), but Santa works in mysterious ways and in come the hot boys from high school, the Sheppard brothers. In Elves with Benefits, we meet Maggie who is tasked with policing the holiday cheer of the town and does it with a gusto. Her nemesis Ryan is not amused. But when the bulbs go on, soon the sheets are heating up nicely and well....it is magical indeed.

And the goats have it. Every time I read a Jana Aston story, I see so much of HER, her quirky personality in every character. When I read Elves, I never expected Sutton to be the goat lady but alas she his. Her run-in with another Sheppard brother, Jake, once again is not smooth. He wants her off his property because he has plans for it. Will Santa be able to work his magic again with this unexpected couple? I'm totally looking for a goatvana to retreat to in my future.

Book four: This was a short but super entertaining read. I loved the push and pull between Ryan and Maggie. She is a Christmas cop who will ticket you for not following the Christmas rules and Spirit and Ryan is a Big City Architect who has no use to decorate or get festive. The interactions between the two will make you smile and giggle she is so over the top about Christmas and he just is a Grinch. Reindeer Falls is all about Christmas and Maggie moved there to start fresh after College. Ryan grew up there and got out as soon as he could. This is a great book to start your Christmas romance reading with, it will fill you with cheer and leave you with a smile on your face.
Book 5:This short story follows Sutton and Jake as they hilariously fall in love. Sutton is a goat farmer and Jake is a big city Lawyer. When you stick the two of them together you have super hot chemistry between a bossy hot alpha and a hippie Heroine. These two will make you laugh and smile as you read. This is a super cute Christmas romance with a great HEA. They do struggle with some issues but is great to see the two of them work together and make things crazy good.
Book 6:This series has been super fun to read. They are hilarious and bring so much joy to read. Lexi is the nerdy librarian and dog squad, and Carter the Alpha baseball player. They are pulled together by a dog named Rudy. This story is a super short cute Christmas romance. They have hot chemistry right from the beginning and Carter lets Lexi know how it is. Lexi is a hot mess trying to be all cute for him it was a hoot to read. I absolutely loved this book it was a great read and makes you smile

What a great continuation to the sweet Christmas town of Reindeer Falls. This year we have three brothers whos uncle passed away so they are back in town to take care of his estate and see what he left for each of them. Uncle Joe has plans for his nephews and with the help of some Christmas magic they will find more than they were looking for.
Our three best friends are all in a fluster over our three Sheppard brothers but the magic of the time of year pulls them together and they each find their own Christmas miracle.
These are sweet stories that intertwine. What starts as hate becomes love and we understand why Uncle Joe left each of them what he did in his will. He left them more than material things in the end, he left them with love.
Erin Mallon is the perfect person to narrate Jana Aston's books. She always gets what is in this authors head and delivers it. I loved listening to her. It is funny and sweet and just a great listen.

Jako contempo a délkou je to vhodné i pro ty, co by chtěli se čtením v AJ začít, protože nemusíte nutně číst všechny. Je třeba počítat s tím, že to kvůli délce nejde nijak do hloubky (třeba jako jiné delší romance), ale bezvadně si u toho odpočinete. Pozor, obsahuje explicitní sexuální scény... což je i celkem jasné díky žánru. PS: hrdinka prostředního příběhu má spoustu pojmenovaných koz (Sharon, Farmer John...) a ta poslední zase řeší pejska 😄.

What a fun quick read. A holiday themed enemies to lovers storyline that is very entertaining. Definitely one you can read anytime of the year. I can’t wait to read the next one!

Another great addition to this series! I absolutely loved this enemies to lovers holiday storyline. Sutton and Jake have so much sizzling hot chemistry and banter that will keep you entertained throughout this quick read. The true stars of this one are the goats, loved them!!!! A must read.

5 star this one was my absolute favourite... the Goats were brilliant side characters

Also a 5 star read, i loved how they Knew each other as kids, it added more Depth to them, Also loved the Epilogue that tied up all 3 stories nicely

I enjoyed these three stories. Ryan and Maggie are my favorite couple in here. Their story made me really smile. Well the goats were super cute in the second one too. So technically the first two are my favorites in here. The last one seemed a bit rushed. I listened to this on audio. Erin Mallon did a great job and is always easy on the ears.

It was very cute! I just love Jana and this book was very Christmas. Each book is about 13 chapters which to me is perfect for a holiday read. She wrapped it up very nicely and they all get their HEA.

I enjoyed the entire volume, but the goat farmer story was my favorite. Fun and light with very little HEA angsty-will-it-or-won't-it-happen waiting. The best part is that Jana Aston can write female characters you want to know and laugh with/at.
