Eugeena Patterson usually doesn’t have a problem putting her nose where it doesn’t belong. After her last mystery busting incident, she’s determined to hang up her amateur sleuth hat. Or at least that’s what she’s telling Amos and her family. When her long-time friend, Rosemary Gladstone, encourages her to attend their high school reunion, Eugeena decides it wouldn’t hurt. All is well until Eugeena and Rosemary face off with their number one enemy from high school. What should have been a celebration, hits a sour note when their nemesis is found dead, not too long after a very public disagreement. There is no rest for the weary as Eugeena dives into another mystery. She doesn’t have a choice since she has to clear herself and Rosemary from being considered murder suspects.

It’s hard for writers to read but there are times when I need a break. My best breaks includes Eugeena Patterson Jones and these mysteries. I find myself trying to get into the head of the writer and she always blows me away. This time I must say, I had the wrong person, but it was good to the last word. I recommend this book to older women who love a good adventure, to mystery readers who love crime stories, or to people like me who just adores nosey old people like my mother.
This is the 5th book I have read by Tyora Moody. I love her books about Eugenia Patterson. She is a very likable character A busybody that solves murders that she is always involved in. Excellent writing .
I love hanging out with Eugeena and her friends. Her adventures are always good with a little prayer!! I also figured out who the killer was (about time) I usually get it wrong. I can't wait for the 6th installment, which comes out in September. I've enjoyed everything I've read from TM!!
I love this series! Eugeena and Amos are the kind of people you'd love to live next door to. They're realistic, intuitive and interesting. I love the fact that the endings of the books are never predictable. I also appreciate the absence of profanity and graphic gore or sexual scenes. Eugeena's Christian faith and honest struggles to do the right thing make her endearing and easy to relate to. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
I can't get enough of Mrs. Eugeena Patterson-Jones. She has so many hats she wears and always have time to find the truth when nobody else can. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next time.
Eugeena is superb at snooping when murder and discord invade her 45th class reunion. If you love a good mystery, eccentric characters, and a body count this Tyora Moody book is for you. Loved the non-stop sleuthing from beginning to climatic end.
Well, Types Moody has done it again. Another master piece with Eugenia Patterson-Jones. A super detective in her own right. This was another page turner. I thoroughly enjoy the shenanigans of Eugeena. Her character makes the book delightful and interesting. If you haven't read any of these books, you are doing yourself a grave injustice. They are well worth reading. Kudos once again to Ms. Tyora Moody.
Each book in this series had me laughing and knowing the Eugeena. would solve the case. Teachers are naturally inquisitive, wise, and detailed when information is required. All the characters were portrayed exactly as they should have been in every seen! These plots would be thoroughly enjoyed on screen. Another Grand Applause for This Great Author, Ms. T. Moody.

Title: An Unsavory Mess Author: Tyora Moody Publisher: Tymm Publishing LLC Series: Eugeena Patterson Mysteries Book 5 Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Five Review: An Unsavory Mess" by Tyora Moody
My Opinion:
'An Unsavory Mess' was another excellent story that involved another one of Eugeena's stories. We find that Eugeena had promised her husband that when would stop with all of the investigations she had been doing in earlier series. But will she be able to keep her word when a friend is thought to may be involved in a murder that happened at their 45th class reunion? Will Eugeena be able to help solve another murder that has more or less been brought her way? Well, to get another good story from this series, the reader will have to pick up this novel and see what all Eugeena gets herself involved in and out of 'An Unsavory Mess' once again. Would I recommend this series? YES!
5 restaurants, 3 murders, 1 attempted murder, a wife, an ex-wife, a new wife, and a slew of quirky family members. What could possibly go wrong?
This cozy mystery is packed with intrigue and unexpected twists. With so many potential culprits, you’ll be kept guessing until the very end. The plot continuously thickens, and just when you think you’ve figured it out, a surprising revelation changes everything. The real culprit is the last person you’d expect, making for an unpredictable and thrilling conclusion. This book is a true page-turner—you won't be able to put it down until you've solved the mystery!
As expected, the mystery was well constructed, and I always look forward to a visit with Eugeena and her friends and family. The whole high school reunion theme just didn't resonate with me personally. Even though I still live in the town from which I graduated high school, and I was a teacher in that high school, I've never attended a reunion. What happens in high school should stay in high school.
I love, love, love these Eugeena Patterson Mysteries!!!
Eugeena Patterson and hubby, Amos, attends her 45th Class Reunion. And wouldn't you know it, more than fellowshipping and dancing takes place. I'll stop here before I spoil it for you. I hope there's more of Eugeena and Amos to come. Hint, hint, Tyora!!!
I am done with Book 5 and the Ms. Eugeena Patterson Mysteries. Or, should I say Detective Eugeena Patterson. This was a sweet series and an enjoyable read. I’ve had the pleasure of reading some of her other books and have enjoyed them immensely. I hope this is not the last time we see Ms. Eugeena in action. 😊
This next installment of Eugeena, the detective is just as good as the previous books. It kept me guessing who could have "done it". I also love how the story flows with just the right amount of suspense. Tying on the Christian undertones is the icing on the cake for me. I am looking forward to reading the next book!
I've read the first 5 books of Eugenia Patterson series and they've all been good. The characters remind me of some of my friends and family. I only gave 4 stars because I figured out the killer right away and imo it was just too obvious, but overall still a page turner.
Excellent read, I loved the characters and storyline. Eugeena continues to stumble upon questionable deaths. Eugeena and her retired police detective husband Amos have a mystery filled retirement. The characters are humorous and fun.
Writing is spectacular and story is extraordinary! I start from the beginning thinking who is the murderer. I recommend the author's writing ✍🏾 to everyone especially if you a like crime mysteries or like me. I am a converted suspense and crime reader.
