Growing up in an abusive household, Lux Abraham dealt with most things that a child should never have to deal with at a young age. He and his brother both witnessed their father die at the hands of their mother. Not finding it easy to forgive their mother, the two enter a pact to walk away from her and never visit her in prison again. Lux decided that he would pursue a career that would allow him to help people and that is why he became a detective and his brother became a paramedic. Malaki has also grown up in an abusive household but unlike Detective Lux, the negativity in his life has made him a negative person and he takes his anger out on any woman he crosses paths with. Unable to have a loving relationship, he deals with issues the way he saw his mama and her boyfriend deal with theirs… by using his fists and his anger. Unfortunately, Autumn has been Malaki’s latest victim. The relationship that she once thought was so loving turned abusive once she lost the baby that she was carrying. Malaki turned to alcohol to cope with his loss and that’s when all hell broke loose. Autumn always told herself she would never be put in a situation like that having a job as a nurse and seeing firsthand the abuse domestic violence victims have suffered at the hands of someone who claimed to love them. Leaving her abusive boyfriend Malaki seemed like the best decision Autumn could have ever made. But when she leaves one man and jumps too quickly into a relationship with another, will Malaki let her be happy? Will Autumn learn from past mistakes and finally find love with the person she least expected? Or will she continue to try and make things work at any cost? Follow her harrowing tale of abuse in It Never Occurred…
It Never Occurred by Lady Lissa is a roller coaster emotional, interesting and heartbreaking 💔 story. Domestic violence is a serious crime. I want to taking my time to reading this novel and I take a good note for those characters from this book. Lady Lissa did a good job. I always fan of her works.
Malaik, Detective Lux and Robert have the similarities their childhood trauma from their parents domestic abuse. If Detective Lux and Robert weren’t treated love, respect, and kindness heart by their grandparents and uncle, they would treat the women less human beings as Malaik because they’re hurting and heartbreaking by their mom for taking their father away from them. However, Detective Lux and Robert want to help people for dealing with domestic violence. Maliak should get some help before he is dealing with Autumn, Corrine, and other women. He should understand that why women are afraid of him and they didn’t want to be around with him because he allows his demon controlling his life. My condolences to Autumn, Corrine and other women are dealing with domestic violence by Malaik.
I will definitely continue to read more works from this author.
Good Read: Book Nerd Roller coaster 🎢 emotional ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️
The storyline was really good. I especially liked the fact that the author dealt with the consequences of not making an abuser pay for his (or her) actions. And it was stressed that no matter how many times an abuser says 'it won't happen again', it always does. So get out immediately, don't fall for empty promises. What I didn't like was the knight in shining armor, riding in on his white horse to save the victim and sweep her off her feet. So overdone. And unreal. There's nothing wrong with finding love after an abusive relationship, but there needs to be some healing, reflection, possibly therapy and finding happiness with yourself.
Although this was a quick read, it's a full story that kept my attention, start to finish. Autumn's experience with abuse and the storyline that follows is so typical of our "justice" system, and her abuser's lack of acceptance for his responsibility is all too often the way it happens. Corrine was pulled into the bad of a situation she'd initially used to her manipulative benefit, but she quickly learned the consequences of jumping on ships that aren't in your waters. The fact that the "happy ending" was one that happened as life occurs made the story an even better read. Everything wasn't tied together with a fancy lil bow, but everyone landed exactly where they should have.
People like Malaki will always blame the victim instead of taking ownership of their faults. You can break that cycle if you so choose to. Yeah and Autumn is right - unless you've been in those shoes. You can't say she and/or he should've just left. It is so much more than meets the eye in those situations. I'm just glad that they were strong enough to know when enough was enough. Cause it damn sure could've been a worse outcome. I truly enjoy reading your books. Not to many touch on abuse. So glad I stumbled upon one of your books years ago. Continue to be great and you have a fan for life!!!!!
Lady Lissa never fails to bring the heat. The way that she takes real life situations and weaves them into a story that you can’t put down is absolutely awesome. This book was well written, flowed well and kept my attention from beginning to end. Malaki was awful and he should have been sentenced to life in prison. Autumn and Corrine did get something out of the abuse that they suffered. Autumn got Detective Lux and Corrine got a little girl. This book is definitely worth putting on your to be read list.
Oh this one hit the hard truth that goes on in society now. I loved Abraham from the first time that he was introduced. His character really showed that there are some good men out there. Autumn was one of the lucky ones that had friends like Jeremy. He stood in her corner when she needed it most. Now as far as Corrine, she didn’t deserve what malaki did to her. She was crazy for helping him when she knew the cops was looking for him. Great job to a awful truth.
This book was so good down to earth Author Lady Lisa actually wrote this book and made it feel like real life scenario, since it involves Domestic Violence this story felt so real from Autumn coming home from work late to the first hit (abuse) taking off to the Police station calling Jeremy to meeting Detective Lux Armstrong and EMT Robert to Maliki abusing Corrine. Author Lady Lisa you wrote the neck out this book definitely recommend this book to be read. Definitely why I gave a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💣💥📚💜💜💜
My fav Author did it once again this story brings so much light and information about being an absuive relationship it’s sad that it took Malik to hurt Autumn again for her to realize that Malik isn’t what she thought she needed in her life and I’m glad Corriane was able to help with Autumn case since Malik abuse them both we need more awareness on abuse it’s sad that lots of people go through this and some don’t make it like these two women
Reading this story put me in my feelings it reminded me of what my mother went through and seeing her fight to get out of marriage just did something to my soul, watching him mentally and physically try to brake her broke me , but she proved to be stronger for her 3 daughter's and my brother she survived!!
Lady Pizza has done it again with her pen skills !!!! What a great book... Without giving away the ending... This book was for sure a page turner I couldn't stop reading until I seen the end lol... I love everything she writes and hopes she continues to write amazing books!! This one was a eye opener for all !!!
Lady doesn't ever disappoint always on point. I felt sorry for Autumn and Corinne. Malaki had the nerve to be arrogant and cocky I wanted a man to get him together he backed down when the neighbor said something to him. It just goes to show you to not be afraid and stand up I'm sure its easier said then done. I loved it from beginning to end.
Malaki was a demon! Nothing was enough for him to keep his hands to himself! He was a horrendous monster one temper tantrum away from being a murderer and deserved worse than he got. I'm happy Autumn and Corinne got their happy endings with two good guys! They both deserved it! Great story, editing and grammar errors attributed to the loss of a star.
This book really resonated with me. This book taught me a lesson that no other book I've read about domestic violence made crystal clear to me ! And that is ...
" IT''S NOT YOUR FAULT IF SOMEONE WHO CLAIMS TO LOVE YOU HITS OR HURTS YOU FOR SOMETHING THEY FEEL YOU DID OR DID NOT DO!"
Poor editing. Lack luster story line. I’ve read other titles by this author that were much better, her editor needs to do a better job at proof reading and correcting errors before publication. If she added a little more depth to the characters the story maybe would have had a better flow.
Love reading lady lissa books. She brings each character to life where you feel as if you know them. Thanks for never disappointing us and writing even when you're going through your own storms! Bless you
I so love this author!! If you haven't read her books you don't know what you're missing. I love how her storylines relate to things we deal with everyday in our society! A good educational read!! Grew job Lady Lissa!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lol I need more! This book was so good even for a short story! I wanted more, I have more questions. I need a spin off or some more background because these characters had me thinking.
This dude was a whole clown out here. Some men have issues that are unresolved. They are like tornadoes, destroying everything in their path. So happy these women were able to heal.
I highly recommend this gifted young lady to everyone who reads. I haven’t read not one book by her I didn’t like. I highly encourage all reader’s to checkout Lady Lissa, you won’t be disappointed.
Once again I enjoyed this read! Maliki had some serious issues regarding women! I think he should have went to trail instead of getting a plea deal! Twenty years was not enough! Glad both Corinne and Autumn was able to move forward with their life!
Autumn and Corrine had been through some drama from Malaki. Lux and Jerome seem to be stand up men. If you are in this situation get out before it gets worse. Men and women are abused all the time. Get help!!!!
one asshole replaced by a king. It’s crazy how some mean can be dogs and disrespect women and abuse them but claim to love them. So glad Lux came along and save those women and Malaki got what he deserved
I'm so glad the ladies in this book was strong and encouraged You have so many ladies that would take the abuse for years that they think it's OK ....And Malaki got what Was coming to him
Excellent from beginning to end couldn't put it down till I finished...love reading your domestic violence books...can't wait to read your next one on this subject
