Subject: URGENT: 31-Year-Old Refund Demand

HEY TEX MURPHY DETECTIVES!!! Picture this: It’s 1994. I’m 12, wearing a trench coat made from my dad’s old bathrobe, and I’ve just hitchhiked 40 miles to the B. Dalton Bookseller in the next county. (Took three rides: a suspicious ice-cream truck, a guy hauling mutant chickens, and a hover-train I stowed away on by clinging to the undercarriage like a radioactive possum.) with $19.95 in crumpled lawn-mowing cash (including $4.50 in couch quarters and one suspiciously sticky nickel), I bought the Under a Killing Moon Official Strategy Guide.

The back cover ROARED in bold red: “CONTAINS COMPLETE WALKTHROUGHS OF MEAN STREETS AND MARTIAN MEMORANDUM!”

I thought I’d scored the TEX MURPHY TRILOGY OMNIBUS OF DOOM.

31 YEARS LATER, in 2025, I finally removed the sacred shrinkwrap (with a ceremonial butter knife and a single tear), only to find:

NO MEAN STREETS.
NO MARTIAN MEMORANDUM.
NOT EVEN A “SORRY, KID” COUPON for 25¢ off a pack of unfiltered Llamas.

I demand:
Full 1998 refund: $19.95
A handwritten apology from Rick Barba, delivered by Chris Jones in full Tex regalia, on a hover-scooter made of recycled CD-ROMs
One (1) lifetime supply of DIGITAL PEA SOUP — the glowing green kind served at the Brew & Stew, now in downloadable .SOUP format for VR consumption
A public confession in the next GOG patch notes, in Comic Sans
My Tamagotchi graveyard exhumed and given a proper funeral (those poor digital pets starved waiting for me to finish UAKM)

I’ve already contacted the Post-Apocalyptic Consumer Protection Agency, the Mutant District Attorney, and the ghost of Colonel Pritchard (he still doesn’t smile).

WHO’S WITH ME IN THIS 31-YEAR QUEST FOR JUSTICE?!
