Oh where to begin...

There were so many times throughout this book that I was tempted to stop reading, because I just didn't feel the connection between all the characters. But I pushed through, hoping that by the end that it would be there.

It never happened.

Parker and Fiona had a great friendship vibe, but I really struggled that they felt more than an incredible friendship to each other. It almost felt like a friends with benefit thing.

And then we have Wyatt...

It takes a very talented writer to tell a menage story in which the reader feels the connection between all three characters. Unfortunately that was not done in this book. I didn't feel like he was anything more than a bed buddy to Parker and Fiona. And in their defense I don't think he thought of them more than that either. If that was the premise and purpose of the story, I'd be okay with that. But it seemed like the author was trying to push a connection that wasn't there (i.e. the ending).

And let's talk about the ending... it takes FOREVER to get there and then it ends on a cliffhanger. And a lousy one at that. Honestly, I can't figure out what more needs to occur in the second book that didn't already happen?

Cliffhanger 😡

While this story had potential, it didn't do it for me. The characters and story lines were drawn out and lacked content. I had to push myself to keep reading hoping it would get better and the ending would put everything together for me but sadly it did not. This book should have been finished in 1 day for me, unfortunately it took 5 days to complete and it ended in a cliffhanger. It was torture for me to "finish" this story and I will not waste my time forcing myself to read the next installment just to see how it ends because I honestly could care less at this point. This was a new author for me and if I could have given this zero stars I would have. I will not be recommending this Author and will not read anything from her again.

Book 46/55: Red Hunted by Allyson Lindt. To start, the author's name has me thinking of the chocolate company. Now for the review, cheesy at time, but fun to read nonetheless. Something random and quick to distract the thoughts swirling and who cares if it's an erotica. I've been reading a tad of everything, so why not finish the one I was closest to the last page.

I really like the way Allyson Lindt brings realism into ménage stories. Given the frequency with which these relationships happen in real life (that is, not much), somehow Lindt finds ways to make them credible. Like others of hers I’ve read, the characters’ jobs play a pretty big role in the storyline. But Red Hunted stands out because there are two relationships developing: that of two best friends who’ve never quite crossed that line with each other, and the ménage itself.

The story is this: Fiona (aka “Red”) is an app developer working for her brother Nick and trying to get their company off the ground. Enter Parker, her best friend and professional vlogger (i.e. posts sponsored videos on YouTube), who has entered a contest and thinks teaming up with Fiona’s company will be his key to win. Fiona’s company has a super-cute contract with Grammie’s Cookies - a big corporate sweets machine looking for a personal touch in their deliveries. Fiona somewhat reluctantly agrees to accompany Parker on a trip around the country as he films the deliveries - and because we are treated to both Fiona and Parker’s perspectives, we know they are both wondering / hoping if something will finally happen between them. But before that can really blossom they meet Wyatt at a hotel bar - who unknown to them works for the competition and plans to seduce them and somehow spoil the contract.

Suffice to say the seduction proceeds and all three are surprised at the connection that results. Lindt also allows us into Wyatt’s head so we get his take on the whole thing too, as he wrestles with his conflicted feelings and some guilt. But what makes this an above-average ménage story is that nothing proceeds straightforwardly from there...it isn’t all hearts and stars for these three to make it work - heck, even for Fiona and Parker to make it work. Lindt throws in one plot twist that I see used ALL THE TIME in romances and totally hate, but she even upends that one and brings a layer of realism to it, making it less dramatic and over the top than I’ve seen elsewhere.

This is a duology so the story doesn’t truly have a satisfying end, but it does end at a natural “leveling up” point in the narrative, with a hint of the challenge ahead for these three characters. I’ll be reading onward. I can’t wait to see how Lindt makes the somewhat inevitable HEA believable - imo, she can do it like few other authors out there.

You can fit what I know about tech, apps, vlogs, etc on the head of a pin, but that didn't keep me from thoroughly enjoying Red Hunted. Friends to lovers to menage equals some scorching hot steam for Fiona, Parker, and Wyatt, and while that was well worth the read, the thing that impressed me most was the chemistry between this trio. That's not easily accomplished with a three person group. There's usually that one person who doesn't quite fit the mold, but these three fit together perfectly, like pieces of a puzzle. Parker and Fiona are both likable characters and given their history, it's not hard to want to see them together. But Wyatt! Even though I knew he had ulterior motives, his devil-may-care attitude pulled me in and made me love him. I even started to feel sorry for the situation he was in, regardless of the fact that he put himself there. We also get a bit of suspense and danger along the way, and that is really the only drawback on this one. I did like the angle, but would've preferred a little more development on that part of the story. That aside, this one is an engaging read and we do have a little bit of a cliffy at the end to ponder as we wait for the next part of the duet.

This was a DNF for me. I’ve read quite a few of this author’s books that I’ve really liked but this one? Not for me. Sorry. I don’t like to not finish books but there are so many books on my TBR list and my reading time is limited and I just don’t waste time these days persevering with books I’m not enjoying.

I liked Fiona and Parker and thought it was great they turned their friendship into something more. But I hated Wyatt. He was selfish and unfeeling. He totally used both Parker and Fiona and didn't care as long as he could further his career. There was no emotional connection between him, Fiona, and Parker. Somehow, Fiona gained feelings for him. She is obviously blinded by lust as he never shared anything with her and Parker other than sex. There was no emotional connection or love. I loved Parker's YouTube career and the contest part of the story. That was a great plot. The stalker thing was predictable and cliche and could have been left out. There were quite a few typos throughout. It "ends" with a cliffhanger and I really try to avoid those types of books. I did not enjoy the story enough to buy book 2. Book 1 was free on Bookbub. The book has potential, but I think the author needs to go back and put in some kind of connection between the three characters and give Wyatt some compassion as that just ruins the whole book.

I first read Allyson Lindt’s Red Hunted (Subscribe, Live, Love Book 1) when it was released in the author’s newsletter as a serial, under the name The Red Cloak Reaction. I the time I thought it was the perfect ménage romance. If anything the polished-for-publication version is even a bit better (so yes, it turns out that you can improve on perfection). Fiona, Parker and Wyatt’s story may indeed be a “filthy-hot hookup” (I’m fanning myself here) but boy is it fun, and the underlying story is a well done one too (yes, you can have perfect eroticism and perfect story-telling in one book - honest). But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the second book in this duet.

Red Hunted is amazing!

Okay I am totally in love with this author and her imaginations. The thrills, sex, suspense and twists and turns have my heart rate bumping up and down. So much angst that you have to read the next chapter and the next. Of course if you are a serial stalker err I mean a fan like me, you would get glimpses into her writing genius. Red or I should say Fiona is a web developer partnered with her brother Nick for a delivery company. Fiona is best friends with video-blogger (vlogger) Parker who becomes a contestant in a contest. Fiona is given an opportunity to see the world by tagging along with Parker and his travels. However they unknowingly meet their adversary Wyatt who becomes a really big deal to them. However in life bad things happen and with books we can safely explore those. So bad things happen to our Fiona and we catch her at the end of this book trying to get through the trauma she endured.

*A copy of this book was gifted to me from the author and I freely give my honest review*

I liked this book, it was a little confusing in the beginning but it just got better.
Fiona and Parker have a friendship but both wants more, it takes a third to nudge them in to it. Wyatt comes through as selfish in the beginning but he has more to him than that.

* Good storyline that has a steady progression
* Well written characters that is emotional and has flaws and insecurities like we all have.
* No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
* Dialogues that are good and there’s enough of them
* Love scenes is steamy, sweet and tasteful

There’s a cliffhanger or HFN but this is a part of a duet so next comes in September.
I for one would like For Fiona, Parker and Wyatt to find their happy ever after, this was a 4,5 🌟

This is a very well written, emotional, best friends-to-lovers romantic suspense. Fiona and Parker have been best friends since they were kids and despite some long simmering sexual tension, have never been romantically involved. When the couple meet Wyatt by chance, he peaks their interest in exploring a sex-for-fun relationship, not knowing that he has an ulterior motive. What will happen though, when they discover his deception? I really enjoyed the journeys of self-discovery undertaken by the three characters – and the varying results and repercussions for each. The characters are well-defined, compelling and engaging. There’s plenty of drama, some suspense and several super-sexy ménage scenes – M/M and M/F/M. I’m looking forward the follow up story – Red Consumed. I received an Advance Reader Copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really enjoyed each of these three main characters, Parker, Fiona & Wyatt. They are each very different from each other and yet fit together so extremely well. Parker is a free spirit who is traveling the world, doing what he loves, people assume that because of what he does it means he is a bit irresponsible with no worries, nobody realizes how hard it is to be under scrutiny for so much of every day. Fiona is all about responsibility & doing what she thinks is necessary rather than what she would really like to do. Wyatt is driven and intense, willing to do anything to get what he wants, even if that means stepping on someone else. These three won’t have an easy path but their journey is intense, emotional & wildly entertaining.

I found this a bit hard to follow "at first" but then, WHAM, I was hooked. The trio of Fiona, Parker and Wyatt make strange bed fellow but definitely eye-opening and addictive. In the book we find out that Fiona and her brother, Nick are in competition with Wyatt for a contract for a delivery app only Wyatt is the only one that actually knows they are in competition. Wyatt starts out to engrain himself with Parker and Fiona as a way to sabotage their side of the deal but it becomes something much more. Soon Wyatt finds himself emotionally involved in a Ménage with the two and the lines become blurred. Definitely a good read to buy and I can't wait for Book #2 to see what happens next.

This book started out as a 3 star. I was using Alexa dictation while driving and well that was awful and did not lend any favors to the book. I stopped using that by like 40%.

I did get a little confused with POV between his and his a handful of times.

By the end of the book I was hooked and could not put it down. The spice was phenomenal and helped bump up the rating.

The best contribution though that made me rate this book higher was the vocabulary that was used. There were words that I had never heard before and ones that I had to double check that I remembered the definition. I thoroughly enjoyed that.

There is another book though and based on how this ended I’m not immediately running to grab book two which is why I didn’t give it a 5 star.

I found this book interesting when I had started it, and was looking forward to seeing how it all unfolded. I was somewhat disappointed because it turned out to be good at times and quite disjointed at others. The background story of a competition, a job, coding, sponsorship and kidnapping was confusing to follow and I kept getting lost. I would have been happy with just the focus on the love story which needed a bit more work to make it more realistic. Maybe the next book in the series would be an improvement on the whole tale. The structure was there, it just needed some more order in all of mess.

This is the first book of a duet in the four book, Subscribe, Live, Love Series. What could be hotter than traveling around the country with the gorgeous Parker. Maybe teaming up with the also incredibly hot Wyatt, the guy they meet in a bar. A menage soon gets heated up in more ways than one when Parker and Fiona find out that Wyatt is their competition for the contest. Steamy, secrets and lots of drama, but you'll have to wait for book two for the conclusion. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.

HOLY HAMLOCK!!!
Man, I have to say this read totally rocks with the storyline. If you're into threesomes, you really have to follow this bad boy as they discover everything that stands between them as a group or individuals. Allyson throws caution to the wind in this page turning bombshell. As you follow the characters along you can't help but feel for them. Talk about hitting hard. Allyson did an incredible job bringing this read to life. Thanks Allyson for sharing this awesome read with read with us.

*SBTB Quarterly Challenge- March 5. Pi Day: Read a book with a character who has a job in STEM*
2.5 stars. The writing itself in this book was actually pretty good. And I did like that the heroine was the coder in her partnership.
Unfortunately the book didn’t come off as realistic in the plot, or the characters’ connection. I think it could have made a decent friends to lovers romance, but the triad aspect felt forced.
Yet I’m mildly interested in how it all gets resolved in the next book. Someone has a lot of grovelling to do.

I just couldn't get along with this book. It felt like the story was all over the place in the beginning and it was confusing, like it seemed to jumper from one thing to another within a couple sentences. It was annoying.I didn't feel any chemistry between any of the characters and it bored me to tears. I gave up at 30% (chapter 11) This year (2020), I will not suffer through any book that doesn't hold my attention.

I don't know about this one. I am in a slump maybe or maybe I just couldn't connect to the characters. Regardless it was just okay for me. I really had to push to finish it. The ending ended on a cliffhanger, so I would have to read the next one but I'm certainly not invested enough to jump right in.

Loved this story line. Friends to Lovers inspired by some kinky fun with a handsome strange. Yum! The only reason this wasn’t a 5 star for me was bc I’d the typos. They were easy to overlook but enough that it took me out of the moment a few a times. On to read book 2...

This book had me confused for most of the time I spent reading it. The sentence construction was bad and there were a lot of grammatical and spelling errors 😡

While there were enticing parts in this story, they were rushed while the other non-interesting fluff was rampant.

Don't bother wasting your time IMO.
