Hank Quense writes satirical fantasy and sci-fi.
Early in his writing career, he was strongly influenced by two authors: Douglas Adams and his Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and Joseph Heller’s Catch-22. Happily, Hank has never quite recovered from those experiences.

He runs a self-publishing and book marketing service, where he coaches new and seasoned writers—whether you’re just polishing your first draft or sweating over your book’s launch. If you have questions about getting your book out into the world or making it actually sell, hank is always happy to share what he's learned.

Besides writing novels, nonfiction books and coaching, Hank lectures on fiction writing, publishing and book marketing.

.He has two daughters and five grandchildren all of whom live close by.

For vacations, Hank usually visit distant parts of the galaxy. Occasionally, he also time-travels.

I found Self Publish A Book IN 10 Steps by Hank Quense to be chock full of vital information and all the things necessary to market and publish your book, but that doesn’t mean you can take a pass on doing your own research. It is a daunting task, but worth the effort to make your book a success.

Note: Received an e-copy of the book in exchange for a review.

I found this manual/book informative, easy to understand, and entertaining. I have yet to self publish a book, but I hope to in the future. I’ll likely reference this book quite a bit when I do so.

Would recommend to any author thinking about what goes into self publishing. There’s a lot more than uploading it onto Kindle or Smashwords and hoping someone notices it and this book explains it all in 10 easy steps.

Another amazing tool by Hank Quense. There is so much packed in here, whether you write fiction or nonfiction or are just interested in the publishing process. While there is a lot on self-publishing, traditionally published authors or anyone on the fence on which route to take can benefit from this gem because it covers extra info such as beta readers and includes forms or questions to ask your beta readers, and much more. Also, learn about the importance of websites and marketing. Every author needs a website. If you are prepublish, learn how to market before your book comes out. Helpful for both traditional and Indie authors. There are also links to other help books on specific topics. I wish I had this book when I first started; it would have saved me a lot of research time;). There is a giveaway link at the bottom. Don’t miss out!

Self publishing a book can be challenging but it is possible. With the help of Hank Quense’s book, Self Publish a Book in 10 Steps and Market It, the process just might be a little easier. He really does break down the process into ten steps. This is a book that those interested in self publishing will find very helpful. I know I will use it when I am ready to self publish a book. I was a little surprised by the order of some of the steps, but Quense does explain the reason for the order - and it makes sense. Quense writes as a teacher instructing students - being careful to make sure his readers understand each step of the process.
High school and college writing instructors will want to have this book on hand for their students who are serious about writing, publishing, and marketing their work.
Self Publish a Book in 10 Steps and Market It would be a good addition to the non fiction section of a K-12 Christian school library.
I received a complimentary copy of Self Publish a Book in 10 Steps and Market It. This is my honest review.

A succinct, easy-to-understand overview of what it takes to work toward successful self publishing. The author starts where a person has a finished manuscript and offers steps to polish, publish and market a finished product. The author has tips and examples from his own experiences and even offers some documents to help the self publisher stay organized and within budget. It was a great introduction to the subject for someone, like myself who knew little about the topic. My thanks to the author for the free Kindle version I won in a Goodreads giveaway.
