Tim Drake story: 3½ ⭐
Loved the scene where Tim’s gifting Bruce something, and the subsequent response from daddy bats.

TweedleDee/Dum story: 4 ⭐
Don't know why I really enjoyed this little story. Especially for characters I would never in a million years think “Hey, ya'know what I wanna read? A Tweddledee/dum story!”. Also the art really reminded me of Frank Quietly!

Azrael story: 4 ⭐
I'm just a sucker for Azrael in general. The first comics I flicked through at my Uncles as a kid were when Jean-Paul took over, so I just have a soft spot for him. (Same applies for Ben Riley as Spidey)

Nightwing story: 3 ⭐
This started off meh, but improved towards the end. It's just really jarring when we've had such an incredible Nightwing interpretation by Taylor & Bruno lately, so Tini struggles to keep that same quality going. But it is a sweet little story, it just misses the mark a little.

Outstanding for the Tim Drake and Nightwing stories alone. 🖤 Tim's story kind of jumps around a bit with its intention, but it gets there and it's good to see him getting consistent support, love, and advice from his family/mentors. He even almost called Bruce his dad. I didn't catch that at first, but when he talks about his dad, he means his biological father. I think it shows that he's accepting more of himself and his life and learning to let go of his past. He was the Robin who had to be Batman's light after Jason's murder, and that's a burden he's never let go of and doesn't really want to let go of, although he needs to recognize that and own it to do it for himself. It's yet another reason he's the best Robin (excluding Grayson, if course, who's in a league of his own). Dee & Dum's story is sad and tragic, probably more so because of the inconvenient truths it hits in reality. I'm reading Arkham City, so I like how the Azrael story builds up his character a bit more. And Nightwing facing the ghosts of Christmas and Scarecrow's toxin is an excellent way to end the issue.

A Carol of Bats: Art's kind of wonky, but otherwise great read.

Down the Rabbit Hole (2 of 2): Not as good once the impact of the first half wears off.

Dark Knight of the Soul (3 of 3): Good Azrael story, but it could have benefitted from another part or two.

The Bats of Christmas Past: Outstanding.

Great issue, just wish it was fully winter themed.

Bats of Christmas Past: it's fun when Dick gets to live a Dickens adventure.
