Past relationships have left Nova scarred. Finishing up school and opening her boutique were her main focus until she ran into Grayson. Grayson was worried about being a great father & his photography career when Nova ran into him, in the most literal sense.
While Nova tries to run from Grayson afraid he’ll turn out like the rest of the men who broke her heart, Grayson is determined to show her different. Not the one to let go without a fight he’s determined to show her the beauty he sees behind the lens.

Capture My Love was such a sweet angst free love story. I absolutely adored Nova and Grayson! They were just so stinkin' cute! Ms. Nova has not had the best of luck when it comes to men but, all of that changes when she runs into Grayson not once, not twice, but three different times. One of them being with her car. It was fate that these two were meant to be together. I loved that there was no drama but, Nova was dealing with some serious low self-esteem. Comments about her slight figure has made her insecure about her body. Grayson was so patient with her. I loved how he brought Nova out of her shell and helped build her confidence. He let her know real men don't give a damn how big or skinny you are when you're the one. Grayson let it be known he was a card carrying member of the itty bitty titty committee. I was giving Sierra some serious side eye throughout this book because, I honestly didn't think she was as nice as she portrayed herself. I just knew she was the reason Kyson was acting up. Turns out, I was all kinds of wrong about her. Sierra was the most unproblematic baby mama ever. She and Grayson had such a commendable co-parenting relationship. Kudos to her for raising the bar on baby mamas! Capture My Love was a cute and romantic read. It was a joy to watch Nova and Grayson on their love journey. This book will definitely give you all the feels.
I loved this story so much!! I really appreciate how the author showed the heroine’s body image issues from being thin vs being thick and stacked. Nova Rae has been hurt by men and women making her feel less than because of her size and I appreciated the fact that we got to be in her head with that. Grayson was so perfect. A single dad in his 40’s and hot 🥵. He always lifted Nova up, encouraged her and made her feel cherished. Plus that man knows how to work a bedroom—just saying. Scorching hot scenes!!
I appreciated that there wasn’t any real drama for dramas sake. Just Black love & joy At it’s finest because truly all we really need is love.
Although I enjoyed this book, the first couple of chapters were a bit hard for me to get into. I found them super slow and a bit uninteresting. But, after the hero and heroine met, the story flowed a lot better. Nova was just this timid, young college girl. She had a lot going on for herself, but she also had quite a bit of immature tendencies. Her issues with body image are very relatable because that's something most women... and men deal with. But I love how ambitious, patient, smart, and loving she is. I love how you could tell that her love language is words of affirmation. Grayson was this single father who is co-parenting with his ex in the most beautiful, healthy way. Grayson out here exuding BDE in everything that he does. He did such a beautiful job loving and catering to Nova. He studied and learned how to lover quickly. He, too, was so patient. Sierra was just a beautiful soul, just trying to raise her son. That's how it should always be. I sensed something between her and K J. I'd love to see it. But whoever she ends up with, I would love a story for Sierra...and KJ. This story was filled with love, just how I like em.
A nice insta-love romance. I wish there were more details about why the FMC grabbed the MMC eye or more information about her past relationships that shaped her views on herself and her relationship. I loved the female friend relationships. I’ll read more of Ms. Mo’Nae in the future.
Grayson was BAE!!!!❤️😍🥰 Just fine and sexy and grown. He knew what he wanted and he went after it. Nova was sweet and shy and struggled with insecurities in some ways, but she was also a boss babe doing school full-time and opening a business. Nova and Grayson's meet cute was adorable. They clearly had a spark from the beginning and Gray was patient and Nova finally let go and leaned into the good. Their journey was beautiful to watch! Definitely 5 ⭐️ Stars! p.s. The preview at the end of Gianna and Xavior had me mad when it ended, I was so into it!😁
This story was cute and well-written. The author always does a great job with character development and this book did not disappoint.
The author also has a knack for creating strong, alpha men with BDE and Grayson certainly fit the description. I Grayson and Nova together and I especially liked the message of loving yourself, despite failed relationships, other's perceptions and societal pressure to succumb to the surgically enhanced "standard of beauty.”
I hope we also get to revisit some the the other characters *hint hint* 🤞🏾😉.
I can't believe that I came across a Tay Mo'Nae book that I did not like 😳. I typically purchase her books, but luckily I read this one for free. The storyline dragged to me, could not hold my attention; was only able to get through 14%. Still a fan.
This was a sweet drama free love story. I really liked Nova Rae and Grayson. Their vibe was so great and I hope we get more and more of them.
Grayson was a stand up guy. He was a man who knew what he wanted and wasn't shy about speaking on it. I love how he affirmed Nova and knew how to build her up and show her the beauty that lied within her was just a potent on the outside. I was certain there would be more to his and his son, Kysons', mom Sierra, relationship, yet they really understood that being friends is all they'd ever be. I like that Sierra was open with Nova and didn't try to act like bc she was Graysons' son mother that she had this upper spot in his life. I liked her and I hope she finds someone for her too.
I loved the drive of Nova Rae. I can only imagine the focus it takes to not only start your business, but to be finishing college as well and designing/making your own clothes. She was a go getter who wanted true love and I'm glad she ran into Grayson; he was just what she was looking for. Even though she had insecurities about herself, I hate the she let that creep into her relationship. Grayson, being the great man he is, saw it and helped Nova see all her beauty. Nova deserved someone that lifted her and loved all of her.
I like that Grayson and Sierra really talked to their son about his feelings. I love that he also was able to express himself and apologize once he understood that what he was doing to Nova was wrong. Sweet kid.
I need more on KJ and Nylah. I love the sibling bond they had with Nova and how supportive and close they all were.
I love that we get to see Brenna and Aisha in this one. It's always nice catching up with old characters.
As much as I love Butter Ridge Falls, I need to go check out the books for Maple Hills.
This was a great, slow burn read. Highly recommend.
I was really surprised that skinny girl shaming was a thing! In my experiences, everyone wants to be thin, so I had never heard or seen this happen. However, it pained me to see how much it affected Nova, and her interactions with men. She was a really smart young woman, who set goals and was achieving them in a timely manner. Meeting Grayson threw her for a loop, and she really didn't know how to deal with her newfound feelings. Grayson! Was on his grown man ish! Beautifully co-parenting with his son's mother, a real gentleman and worked hard to have a successful business. Nova stirred something in him from their first meeting, and he knew she was something special. I loved how he took his time with her, as he knew she was shy and had a feeling she some trauma from past relationships. Nova did get on my nerves a bit, with all of her assumptions, and those insecurities were always front and center; while Grayson gave her no reason to doubt him. However, I was pleased to see them together, as he was good for her. Have a feeling that Sierra and KJ may have been sneaking around, but I guess time will tell about that. Would love to see KJ's and Nylah's stories as well. Good read! 👍👍👍
Ms. Mo'Nae has done it again, delivered a well articulated, romantic story. This story will have you all in your feelings. The love and attention Grayson shows Nova is life-changing. It literally helped Nova build her self esteem and confidence. It's ironic because it seems to be more "common" to hear plus size women with body image issues not smaller ones. It can happen to them as well because Nova is a prime example. It is sad either way because both plus and smaller are trying to conform to society. Plus size is trying to adhere to "thin is in" meanwhile smaller is trying to get "thicker." It is almost as if the body is bullying the mind. I do get the feeling though once Nova starts a family all of the body parts she wanted more fluff on will fill out. I love when a "weaker" woman gains her strength and confidence. It always make for a good read to me.
This is a fantastic story. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am glad that Sierra did not cause any drama in Grayson finding his soul mate. I do wish that Sierra finds hers as well, but not with KJ. Kyson got confused at one point he would be totally confused with a stepfather and uncle as the same person. I hope that Nylah and Nolan can make another go at it. I feel that Nylah is still deeply in love with him. I strongly recommend this book, you should download or purchase and indulge.
I like Grayson. He played no games, he went after he wanted. Nova Rae was different just because she was a hopeless romantic. Plus she knew what she wanted and wasn't going to settle for less. Their parents were good role models. Kyson is a cutie. He was just like a little kid who wanted his parents back together. Sierra was cool about the whole situation with Grayson. She could have been the baby mama from h@££. Mickey just rub me the wrong way any time your on a date and your in your phone, that's a turn off. Monroe she was just wild. Nylah knew she loves Nolan. Kendrick is just a player who not looking to settle down. Grayson helped Nova Rae come out her shell and gain confidence.
Soooo, Nova drove me up the wall lol. The list goes on with her self doubt, negative thinking and insecurities was overwhelming. She was correct though that people do body shame skinny women as well and she ran into a few jerks that made her way of thinking way worse. But then she ran into a GROWN man and Grayson made it his mission to change her way of thinking. I loved that he was all on but also made sure that whoever he was with was also great with his son. Him and sierra had a great co-parenting relationship. Both had great close relationships with their families, that loved both Nova and Grayson. They had some hiccups and bumps in the road but they worked it out!
This book was well written, flowed well and the character development was awesome. Grayson was all that and more. He was definitely a grown man who knew exactly what he wanted and didn’t have time for any games. The relationship that he had with his son’s mother was quite admirable. Grayson and Nova’s relationship was refreshing and the way that he built up her confidence was grown man actions. Although Nova went through several bad relationships and negative comments about her weight, Grayson got really of all that negative energy and replaced it with love. Really enjoyed this book.
Grayson was everything 😍 He knew he wanted Nova after a few encounters and did what he needed to do to get her and keep her.
Nova and her insecurities would’ve probably pushed most men a way but Grayson constantly gave her the reassurance she needed. He eventually broke down the walls she had built up. Eventually she was comfortable with herself she was showing her man affection and exuded a confidence about herself. I enjoyed seeing her growth.
This was really a good read and a cute love story. No outside drama just two ppl trusting each other and falling in love. My heart is happy 😃
Grayson was such a good guy! When Nova described the type of guy she wants, one that would cherish her, treasure her etc I imagined that’s what we all want at the end of the day. Nova was so timid and her insecurities annoyed me at times. Mainly because she seemed too old to act like that. Sierra was the most unproblematic baby mama ever! They had such a dope co-parenting relationship. Although this book was about Grayson and Nova I am far more interested in Nylah and Nolan😩
Loved this love story. Grayson was definitely a man who saw what he wanted in Nova. The way ova overcame those insecurities because of past relationships. Nova and Grayson were couple goals. They fell in love. Love the relationship Nova had with Kyson and then with Sierra in the long run. I believe when you put it out their about her brother KJ had to return after the vow renewal, I think he was meeting up with Sierra. I think there is another story with this family.
We often assume skinny, thin, slim thick girls don't have self love issues, but in reality all size women do! Nova is a prime example that just because a woman is small in appearance doesn't mean she is confident in herself and haven't been emotionally scarred by a immature boy who's supposed to be a man. Grayson is the epitome of most women dream man and I'm glad Nova met him! Hopefully we hear more of KJ and Nylah story! Awesome job Tay Monae!
Grayson is the type of male book character you wish you come across in real life. From beginning to end I rooted for this couple. Grayson was grown grown and from the gate, he spoke his mind and kept it 100. I loved it. Definitely a new addition to my book bae list. Miss Nova Rae was a treat as well. I loved seeing her come into herself. 10/10 would recommend.
Can I get a Grayson in real life? I mean he was screaming man man. The only thing that threw me off about him was his relationship with Sierra . They were too friendly for my liking. But overall, Nova deserved Grayson! He was amazing, and the family dynamic in both sides was awesome! I loved KJ. Even though he was a little grumpy at times he was still cool. Nova learned how she should have been treated and Grayson was not afraid to show her. Loved love loved!
Capture My Love…. Needs more than 5 stars…This book was a really good listen. I enjoyed how the Love Story between Nova Rae & Grayson developed. I was happy that Grayson was able to help Nova overcome her insecurities and fall in love. Loved the support from their Families and the understanding from his baby Mama & son. This will be a definite recommendation. Narration was really great and is on my re-listen list.
I loved that Nova Rae was able to build her self confidence with the love that Grayson gave her. I simply love the relationship she had with family and it was refreshing to read a storyline where the child's mother was confident secured in herself and didn't feel threatening by the girlfriend. Awesome story.
A must read love story!!! This was def different because I’m use to reading books about big girl body shaming but tay flipped the script on us and got on the subject of skinny girl body shaming. I also loved how Grayson and sierra had a great co parent relationship because it shows some parents can actually be mature for their kids. The way Grayson broke down nova walls and showed her so much love and affection was everything.
This was my first Tay Mo’Nay book and may I say that I loved it?! There’s no unnecessary drawn out angst! The conflicts were even reasonable! Nova and Grayson were super sweet, and the relationship was down to earth believable. I don’t believe in spoilers, but I am going to figure out the order of her catalogue and dive into her work! It was that good!
This was such a sweet story. Greyson was it!!! He knew what he wanted and stayed the course. I love how he brought her out of Nova out of her shell and helped build her confidence. As i was reading in the beginning i was praying she didn't end up with Mikey with his thirsty ass. Great read as usual Tay.
Nova’s extreme insecurities were a total turn off. She really needed some therapy. Grayson spent the whole book building up her esteem. What a burden to be on someone. So because of this it slowed the whole book down. It should have been a fast paced book but it wasn’t. There were too g
Nova Rae…a rare jewel ready to finish school and showcase her talents. Grayson…ready to settle down with the right one. He may have found her but they keeping crashing into one another!
A cute love story of coming together and helping move toward their future as well as moving pass past hurts and insecurities.
If you want a book where the MMC actually acts like a man and cherishes his woman read this because wow Grayson is a thoughtful man through and through the way he tried his best to help novas insecurities and make her feel good about herself truly was just amazing. Both of the characters were so loving and it was so nice to see nova come out of her shell and be more open and start to love herself this book was soooo good
Did Tay Mo'Nae write my new Book Bae? Yes! How fitting for the FMC to be named Nova because their meet cute was comic. This was such a sweet love story, and I loved how much Grayson poured into Nova with his words and made sure they aligned with his actions. No drama or ambiguity, just a man pursuing his Belle❤
I was worried for a moment. I thought Grayson was going let his son Kyson mess up his happiness. I believe Sierra wanted to tell Grayson she wanted to try again. Nova is such a romantic person. Glad she found her King.
