Ever since Zara Porter and Cole Grant bumped into one another at their local coffee shop, they haven’t stopped thinking about each other.
Zara is quiet, shy, and a bit of a klutz, while Cole is laid back, charming, and wickedly handsome. Every time they cross paths, he wants her more than before, and she wants the same. And the truth is, they could be together if it weren’t for one teensy, little problem—he’s her college English professor.
Fraternization with a student is against the rules and strictly prohibited on campus. However, when it comes to Zara, Cole might be willing to break the rules to fulfill both of their desires.
Being together could be everything they’ve ever dreamed of . . . so long as they don’t get caught.

Eh this was just okay. I never really felt a connection between the two characters and the heroine just acted so immature and young, so I didn't really love the age gap romance because of how young she was portrayed. She was just a normal student and the hero thought she was so unique and "not like other girls" because she liked to read and talk about literature. I just wasn't a fan of their connection or romance. I did, though, like the ending and how things played out there!
A room full of books with the man of my dreams? Who wouldn’t want this?
Hot and relatively quick processor and student novella. It starts with some spilled tea and some stolen kisses, but turns into more that Cole and Zara expected. It’s cute, quick, and has some spice so definitely recommend if that’s what you’re in the mood for!
My Gawwwd it's hot. Sopping wet romances should be a trope now, with The English professor Cole Grant sitting at the top of Forbidden/Tabboo heap like a king. Zara Porter didn't stand a chance and neither did I!!.

Nora avatar of Shanora is famous for unleashing her Naughty-kinky side, so we know we're promised a sizzling hot passionate romantic story and it checks out all the boxes.
They start out hiding away from prying eyes and yes, the disaster strikes. Shanora very deftly puts the required amount of angst in it to keep things interesting. Short. Spicy. Saucy story definitely will keep you invested. 5 stars Follow me on: Email🌻 Bookbub 🌻 Twitter🌻 Instagram🌻 Blog🌻 Facebook🌻 Amazon 🌻
I’ve been reading this author’s backlist recently and saw this one had an audio available to grab from my library, so I hopped in! And it was sadly, just okay. The heroine is a college student who first bumps into the hero at a local coffee shop, they hit it off and are feeling one another but do go their separate ways. Later on she bumps into him again, when he’s her new professor!
This was a short novella and it was fine, just nothing standout or that exciting really. There is an age gap, some drama with other students possibly finding out they’re together, he takes her on an overnight trip and they spend time together during spring break, lots of sneaking around, some library time alone together. I just would have liked less steam (I know lol) and more buildup of their connection to find their relationship believable and to even care about them. 🤷🏼♀️
I liked this story a lot because it actually didn’t feel like anything salacious was happening. Zara felt like an old soul and much more mature than the girls in her class. It may be due to the fact that she took care of herself a lot while her mother struggled with the fact that she couldn’t be as adventurous. I’m not quite sure why Cole was willing to risk it all for Zara but they fit. I wanted more heat amongst Professor Grant and Zara but it was much more sweet and sensual. There was an old familiarity instead of a blazing passion. It was a nice story.
Well finding this little gem on my kindle surprised me. I always love reading Shanora Williams books. The writing style is easy and relatable and I love that. So I was excited to see this book waiting for me. With that being said I’m just going to dive right in. This book started out soooo good for me. I loved every page in the beginning, but then it just fizzled out a little. I’m a must have a HEA kinda girl. This book does have an HEA in a sense, but not in the way I was hoping for. I wish there would have been more to the epilogue. But don’t let that deter you from this story. Because I absolutely loved Zara. Her character was so relatable, I seen myself in her. She is what I loved most about the book. 3 stars for me. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The writing felt off, didn't feel like Shanora at all and the characters had zero depth. The book was extremely predictable as I knew immediately when we were introduced to Alisha what would happen later on.
I didn't feel the connection between the FMC and the MC. We were told about their connection but personally I didn't feel it.
It's been way too long since the last naughty novella from Nora Heat. And with My Professor, she hasn't lost her gift for writing the kind of taboo treats I enjoy.
Cole Grant should have never even thought about Zara Porter as anything but one of his best students. But from the moment she accidentally spilled coffee all over him two days before they realized she was going to be in his English class, all bets were off. There was an instant chemistry that neither could deny and before you knew it, class lectures led to private study lessons which then lead to falling hard for the other over spring break.
The pace of this book is fast and furious but it offers up real feelings of true love despite the number of pages offered. It's the kind of story that gives me a bit of reboot between heavier reads that I need and appreciate and Nora Heat never fails to deliver the goods.
Cole and Zara are electric together both in and out of the bedroom as they understand one another like no one else and could really have a future together as the last chapter offers up a bit of hope after their abrupt parting.
When looking for a delicious age-gap story, look no further than My Professor. It's bound to heat up you and your e-reader during these long winter nights.
I obviously knew it was a novella going in and usually I'm satisfied with that but.....I've been thinking about these two constantly since I finished My Professor.
Shanora just has a way of pulling every single emotion from you with her words and she does it so well! I was anxious and nervous, but also excited and happy...well I wasn't happy all the time because there was definitely a hater in this book that got on my last nerve!
Zara and Cole are so good together and I want to see more of how they grow as a couple....sigh. Guys, he took her to buy books on their date....books!! I mean who doesn't want a guy that takes you to a book store, and then takes you home to break your back.
I liked the chemistry between Cole and Zara, but I wanted it to be more of a slow burn before they finally acted on their attraction with each other. Cole is a broken sweetheart and Zara is just the person to fix him. The novella kept me engaged and wanting more after it was over.
Novela corta pero entretenida. Es un instalove pero a la vez podes entender porque se enamoran aunque lo hayan hecho en 48hs. Tiene un buen de spicy 🔥🔥 si estan buscando algo ligero y rápido de leer aca tenes la solución
I always get excited when this author writes an age gap romance, she's already written some of my favourite stories in this trope.
My Professor as the name suggests is the story of Zara and Cole, the student and college Professor. It has everything you need for a fun, steamy and forbidden little treat.
I loved their story it was sweet, passionate, exciting and all consuming. Zara and Cole didn't just have intense physical chemistry they had a lot in common too which connected them on a deeper level. They really were perfect for each other in every way.
I've read a couple of other books by this author and while I thought this was an okay read, the writing style did not match up to other books I have read by this author. It felt like one of her earlier works. The writing style felt "amateurish". The flow of the story is a little stilted. I, however, did enjoy the story. It was cute.
Forbidden love. Zara was young and inexperienced but she fell for her professor. Cole had his own issues that stemmed from his childhood. I enjoyed their story.
Very good read. And what a way to start my Christmas vacation. This was my first time reading this author. The story was engaging and well developed for a novella. Nothing was lacking or missing. Just perfect Ms. Williams. I adore any story that is catered around books and with a dash of love. Set on a campus and throw in a coffee shop and its my perfect read. Cole and Zara were great together. The pace was good. Drama was good. Everything was just perfect. I really enjoyed the story and it was a lovely way to spend my morning. Thank you.
This was a super hot, short read. I love the Nora Heat books... they pack a wallop in a short book!!
Zara is a college freshman and a virgin! She's more of your nerd type that never had much time for boys... until she literally runs into the most beautiful man spilling his drink all over his shirt. Then she discovers that this beautiful man is her English professor!!
Cole has a secret thing for his student Zara ... but school policy forbids him to act on it. Until one night while alone at the library he takes a chance and kisses her.
Cole invites Zara with him to Florida to meet his book agent during spring break, and they have a short fling. When they return, it all goes downhill. Especially once they get caught!!
This was an enjoyable read. It is a student-teacher romance between Cole Grant, a literature professor, and Zara Porter, a freshmen in his literature class. The story was interesting and exciting. I really thought the characters were great. Cole is an aspiring author, who also works as the professor. He has feelings for her since the first day of classes. For me, Cole was good-looking, smart, and protective of Zara. Zara was a freshman in the literature class when she first saw Cole Grant. She, too, did like him from the first day of classes. To be closer to him, she took his study sessions. During one of these study sessions, they gave into their feelings and kissed. The rest was history. The ending was sweet, but it could have been longer. I can't wait to read more books by Shanora Williams. Overall, a great read.
My Professor by Shanora Williams brings us the forbidden relationship, age-gap, professor/student trope. Who doesn’t like a forbidden relationship? The thrill, the danger of being caught… they couldn’t be together because the University had a strict no-fraternization rule. They tried to resist in the beginning, but the heart (or the body) wants what the heart wants. Will they be able to keep seeing each other in secret or will their romance be discovered and ruin everything?
Holy cow , I want to go & study English at a college after reading this .
Absolutely love Cole & Zara’s story . Their relationship may have been taboo, but their love , & passion , just jumped off of the pages .
My heart broke for them , but when your true love has captured your heart & soul , love will always find a way . It’s all about ‘ the right place , at the right time ‘.
Who wasn't daydreaming about the hot teacher, eh? 😉
Just like the rest of Nora Heat collection, My Professor is a quick read filled to the brim with sexiness. This forbidden student/teacher story is packed with sizzling chemistry and delicious tension that kept me entertained from the first page to the very last one. Shanora sure knows how to bring the heat, and this steamy novella is definitely full of it!
Bears some similarity to other professor/student romances that I have read. However, this one was in the top five of those books. I Enjoyed the characters. They had similar backgrounds and interests. The relationship did not feel sleazy, but like their was a kinship between the couple that drew them together. Loved it!
I love it when Shanora Williams brings us the other side of her writing talent known at Nora Heat.
These books are great quick reads and you can not put them down. This author brought to us My Professor which was exactly what I needed. Hot as all get out professor that is 100% all alpha.
The story progressed quickly and ended just the way the author wanted it to.
