Sometimes it’s just a rubber ducky kind of day…especially when you work in customer service.
Skyler knows he’s not the most well-mannered business owner, but luckily the curious people who wander into his coffee shop don’t expect him to behave. They like the drama that whirls around him like one of his fabulous dresses.
Well, everyone but Nash likes the drama that plays out.
Nash is much more interested in getting to know the real person behind the drama and outrageous behavior because he’s never met anyone like the captivating Skyler. Rubber duckies and little time are completely out of his comfort zone, but the more he gets to know the fascinating barista, the more curious he becomes, and he starts to wonder…what does it really take to be a Daddy?
Lately I feel that M.A. Innes is choosing the BDSM path a little more than I'd like.
I love age-play books, but I'm not really a fan of mixing this with the BDSM side of things. I have no interest to read about a naughty sub and his Dom. I like my boys to be very sweet and my Daddies to be really caring.
Lately I find myself no longer enjoying the dirty talk in lot of books. Only occasionally, when it's done really well. But in my age-play books it feels out of place.
So while I like M.A. Innes, I wish they would tone down the BDSM a little.
This was cute. It held my attention much better than book one. Since I didn’t finish book one, you can say I read this out of order. I didn’t feel as though I was missing anything. I do have a major niggle. Nash was introduced as awkward and adorkable. Like a switch had been flipped, he’s able to turn on the seriously hot and dirty Daddy talk. He took to being a Daddy Dom like a duck to water. *see what I did there?* It’s funny, because that scenario is what ruined book one for me. I’m not sure if it’s my mood or the obvious effort Nash put into becoming a Daddy that made this book ok and not book one. Maybe both? 🤷🏽♀️
So a little over 3 ✨ rounded down for the whiplash inducing speed in which Nash seemed to change.
It is always a more difficult day when you meet new people with new demands. Family or not, it takes some time to learn about them.
Some things seem automatic and come easily. Some ideas just jump out and wait for you to notice.
Others ideas need to rest a bit before trying to get noticed. Close friends do better than new friends.
But to have a good daddy who understands what you want and need and how to control you takes some time and experimentation. Trust and love are key, but do not happen instantly. But once they do develop, get that diaper on and toys ready.
I wasn't prepared for Skylar and his crazy. I got into it and enjoyed it but was shocked a little at first. And Nash is so serious and funny with all the research. Adorable couple.
Cute story liked the first time daddy angle. And I always like a book about boy who does what he wants concerning clothes toy ect. All in all a very cute story with a HEA
Came back to rate this one because OMG it was funny and a learning experience. Really enjoyed all the books in series and this is no different. Skyler is very sassy and loved his character and his Daddy was great reining him in while learning his role just WOW
Jus so adore the way Nash jumped right in; of course this is after a complete analysis of things lol. Skyler was so ready for a daddy that he didn’t even notice him so thank goodness for Amber.
So the word "cute" is used in this book 63 times. Yes I counted. It wasn't so bad at first but seriously by the end I was losing my mind. I didn't count the time the word "sweetheart" was used but my guess is it's up there as well. Synonyms exist for a reason. (Update, I counted. The word sweetheart appears 75 times within 260 pages 😅).
Anyway, I didn't mind this one. I actually really liked it for about the first half and then it just got extremely repetitive and nothing happened. It felt like they were just doing the same thing over and over again and there was no shaking things up. I don't think that every book needs to have like drama or angst or anything, but it does need to have some sort of plot in my opinion. Especially if there's not going to be a character development. I would have loved to see Skyler have to deal with a bad customer or Nash's regular job play a role or them disagree about literally anything. Everything lines up so perfectly that it became extremely unbelievable. It's really unfortunate because I generally liked it but I was also frustrated and so much so that I don't think I'll reread it at any time soon. I will continue on with the series though so do with that information what you will.
Gay MCs. Age play, daddy kink, ABDL, multiple explicit scenes, impact play
Not a lot of age play in this one, but what little page time it has is rather lovely. Skylar is more in a naughty-boy headspace where he loves being punished as a reward, so it's pretty freaking hawt throughout most of the story. The little peeks of sweetness that I love from this author come through still, but be prepared to need a cold shower a couple times while reading!
DNF at 40%. I read this because a friend thought I would relate to Nash’s character, and they were right! The writing didn’t really work for me overall but I did enjoy Nash’s portrayal.
Skyler owns his coffee shop, and Noah comes in and sees him and it changes both of their lives ! Skyler, on the cover, a sub and "little," wears dresses, fancy lace undies, has no filter, is lean and sassy, and needs a "caretaker Dom" for his own. He's happy to see what Nash will be like, and how different he is from other men. Nash, a bit boring, a professor, teacher, works at a museum, too. He's muscled, steady, with an underlying fire, is a Dom, but will be a first time Daddy for Skyler. He'll be learning a lot.
We get to see the depth in each character before they move into a relationship. It's Nash's first time as a Daddy and Skyler is excited. We learn about Skyler's wealthy family and the stipulations in the will when his Dad passed away. Nash has been waiting for something to happen in his life and finds that missing element.
Their frank discussions are plenty and high hopes are bringing them closer than anyone else has ever been. Emotions got deeper, the sex situations expanded, with more predominately BDSM, hot sex with edging, toys, delayed gratification, dirty talk and after care. The "little" times give us play time, diapers, binkies, and coloring, but it wasn't too much to be overwhelming.
Nash was an excellent Daddy Dom, who researched and discussed his concerns openly, so he could give Skyler whatever he needed and did it well. He was serious about performing his duties. Skyler loved that Nash succeeded at being exactly what he wanted and required.
Both men found their "one" to cherish and hold forever. ENJOY !
a little dose of humiliation kink carried this book honestly. i basically skimmed most of it. the MCs went from being strangers to being in love in the span of three days. that’s just dumb. and i cannot stress this enough, i HATE that authors always mention toys and restraints and all kinds of spicy stuff but we never get to see that. it’s frustrating. oh and this is technically an age play book, but we have a grand total of two age play scenes in the whole book.
I enjoyed this read, but the characters didn't quite mesh for me. Wasn't the full connection I usually expect with this author and for some reason Skylar's name kept jarring me - like it didn't fit his personality. There was certainly plenty of sweetness and lots of heat and sizzle but the chemistry and character development was flat, in my opinion.
Man I can’t even begin to express how much I love this author’s work. Some authors give you characters you fall in love with and some create beautiful worlds snd towns you want to live in. Then you have the best kind of author. Those are the ones who give you both. That’s M. A. Innes. I absolutely adore Skylar. This cover captures his personality so perfectly. I mean look at those eyes and you can see. Snd I usually don’t care about covers. Let’s not forget Daddy Nash. I can’t imagine a better Daddy for Skylar. The way they come together was so awesome I’d love to see a show or movie like it. Now here is where I think the true brilliance of the author shines through the most. The characters personalities are so thoroughly fleshed out and complex that we really feel them and know them. And their physical descriptions are just enough to match while leaving us the freedom to imagine a complete image ourselves. I love that. Now here is where the author really nails it. What could possibly make this better? Well M. A. Innes takes it one step further to give us a true sense of community. She has characters from other stories in the mix. It’s so beautifully done and true to their nature. This is one of the many reasons her readers are always asking for more. I enjoy reading them so much that I hate to see them end. I literally put them down and do something else just to postpone reaching the end. Even with having to work and doing housework I still got to the end too soon. Now I’m wondering what is the respective amount of time to wait before I start begging for more.
I was thinking just a few days ago that I'd love a story about a new Daddy/Dom. Someone just finding out who he is in the bdsm world and learning to take charge. This is a great take on it. I love the insight and the way both their minds work. They really balance each other out and work well together A beautiful piece of wisdom "maybe each thinking the other was the best was a sign of a lasting relationship?" I've only been married to my husband 17 years, we still haven't agreed on who's the best or lucky one. Only that neither of us are perfect, but that we are perfect for each other. The relationships M.A. creates feel as though they can and will stand the test of time. This is a great series by a truly talented author.
4.5* Oh wow, I really enjoyed this book. Skyler is an amazingly sassy, feisty Little who likes pretty things and being ‘naughty’ in front of his customers. Overhearing an interesting conversation about rubber ducks and a world trip, intrigued Nash enough for him fall down a research rabbit hole. One conversation and dinner later these two wonderful characters are exploring a relationship together. This is an ARC I got from the author for an honest review, I will also buy it as I can see myself re-reading time and again, as this is a sweetly kinky story that has plenty of heat, with great characters that I want to know more about, I can’t wait to see what/who gets their book next.
I loved Nash and Skyler right from the first sentence. Skyer is so bright, fun and full of life. Nash is more serious and socially awkward.
These total opposites worked great together. I enjoyed watching Nash finding his feet in a relationship dynamic that was new to him.
"I had a lover, a sub, a little...I had everything all wrapped up in one fascinating man who was the most unique creature I'd ever seen, and I couldn't decide if I was in over my head or if I'd found perfection. "
A fun, sexy, and sassy pair who were well written and brought to life by the author in a way that felt like I knew them.
MA Innes excels at new Daddies/Boys. Nash has moved from the middle of Idaho because his life is missing something. Walking into his favorite coffee shop, he overhears the owner complaining that he needs a bubblebath and a rubber ducky. He's intrigued. When the two finally meet, the owner, Skylar, tells him that Nash can call him anything if he can call Nash, Daddy. A history professor and professional researcher, Nash goes online to research being a Daddy. And a new Daddy is born. Innes' story is funny and quirky. I read this one slowly, savoring it. Because all their books just end too soon!
Nash needed to be in a city to experience new things; when he goes to the coffee shop nearby and overhears Skylar declaring that the day is a rubber ducky kind of day, he is intrigued by the man and his statement. Nash and Skylar hit it off when they meet and begin a relationship.
This was such a fun story. Nash was very analytical in his approach to being a daddy, but watching his thought process play out was adorable. On the other hand, Skylar kept him on his toes with various actions. They were cute together, and I can't wait to see them in future books.
I struggled with this book and realised it is because I went into thinking it is going to be an age play ABDL book, but although there are elements of both it is more of a new Dom/Daddy and Sub/little. Once I got this I really enjoyed it, there is a lot of talking through feelings and what the other wants which distracted from the story line at times but not to the point where it was over the top.
I loved Skyla and Nash the chemistry was good between them and they clearly should be together forever
I loved this book! Skyler is outrageous and fabulous, but hurting inside. Nash has lives in a small, rural town all his life, and he’s never met anyone like Skyler. Nash is fascinated at first glance, but so is Skyler. To see each of them look between the surface, and get to know the other was a great feeling. This was a great book as is, but I really wish there would be another to see how their relationship continues to grow with - I’d love to know more!
Love MA Innes books. Although this was a bit different. With Skyler being an eccentric coffee shop owner, who know what he wants, all things lacy, and for a daddy to accept him as he is. Nash is the quiet professor, but is fascinated with Skyler the moment they meet. After researching being a daddy to a little/middle Nash asked Skyler on a date. Skyler worries that he's too much for any daddy, but thing look up with Nash. Absolutely loved it.
Skyler and Nash are fantastic together. I love how sassy, flirty, and fabulous Skyler is. Nash is super accepting and open to exploring new ideas and fantasies. These two together are great and I want more time with them.
This is a fun and sass filled story with wonderful characters. I can't wait for the next book in this series and I hope to see more about this couple.
I enjoyed Skyler and Nash’s story! Skyler is bratty and some of his antics, especially at his coffee shop, are laugh out loud funny! Nash considers himself to be boring, but he is the exact opposite. He just needed Skyler in his life to bring out his sweetly controlling Dom side.
Nash is very new to everything BDSM but nearing feisty Skylar at his coffee shop opens up a whole new world as he’s introduced to both age play and D/s. Although some of these are starting to feel very repetitive due to the language and same phrases being used over and over and over again they are still very enjoyable
I love how the main characters were introduced in this book, it created an interesting and memorable beginning. The book continued to hold my attention as the story unfolded. M.A. Innes is very good at visually creating the characters with plots and nudges to go on their voyages of discovery.
