College Jock's Secret Baby

Rate this book
He’s the big man on campus—in more than one way.

The pressure is real, seeing that his father was basically college jock royalty.

And he plays the part of being an absolute alpha-hole. But underneath that jock-like exterior and thick muscle is someone I could see myself with.

At least for the night.

Homecoming week, I get my chance. Everyone warned me to stay away from this handsome hunk, but I’m taking my chances.

Unfortunately for me, I end up with a secret surprise.

His baby.

No way in hell I’m telling the college hottie the truth. It might ruin his future playing football. Besides, my father never wanted kids.

My new love affair probably doesn’t either.

But he is persistent and I’m left to do one thing—ghost him.

He doesn’t take that lightly and I found out that he’s not just willing to fight for his future, but for ours too.

DNF at 40%

This is definitely a slow burn. Minus the burn. And wow was this book for a good 20% about the characters' otber friends and not the main love interests. I undestand having to set up the story and I may be a little impatient, but if I have to skip several chapters because the main individuals are talking to their friends about random crap that doesn't really matter in the long run of the story; yes I'm going to get itritated and impatient.
And the first sex scene was a joke. They had both been drinking but the man was definitely sober in the time they got back to his house and she had had at least three or four shots and some beer and some wine so she wasn't sober. Anyway, the sex scene lasted about 3 short paragraphs minus the heat. And I can't get a good read on these characters.

Another great read from C. Morgan. I have read several books from her and I love each one a little bit more with each one and this was no exception. Loved Calvin and Macy so much. This was a true case of opposites attract and how future plans can change when you least expect them. Macy didn’t want to ruin Calvin’s future so she decided to ghost him but he wasn’t haven’t it. Nothing was going to stand in his way to be with Macy even if she didn’t want it. Loved the chemistry and attraction between these characters. You could feel it coming off the pages. Can't wait to read more from this author.

This is a sweet story of two opposites coming together and coming out stronger together. The author does a great job building their story and moving it fluidly with her detailed and descriptive writing. I enjoyed reading Macy and Calvin's story.

This was a good read. Macy moves to Nebraska with her mother. She meets Calvin at college and they hit it off. His father is obsessed with him playing ball and likes to control his life. It was nice for him to get some fun with Macy. Everything is going well until she ends up pregnant. Thankfully it all works out in the end and they get their happy ending.

Light Quick Read, Not Much Going On

For those that absolutely hate to read “porn/erotica” the is very soft porn. Like PG porn. Nothing panty soaking, no heat, no kink - You’ve been warned

The writing style is nice and had good flow. The plot premise was stereotypical, no real surprises. Overall pleasant read.

Honestly if you read the novel description, plus AMZ reviews gave all the spoilers away, rudely I might add, you won’t need to read the novel. It’s all there. Don’t spend the money.

FMC was smart, intelligent, and not your typical nerd - I pictured her as the FMC in the movie “Legally Blonde” only our FMC was a real brain.

MMC was not your typical jock. He had brains, sensitive, and morals. Not a bruiser, aggressive, arrogant person. I accept like his character.

Everything in the novel was neat and tidy. No playing hard to get. They immediately end up in bed together

The downside is this novel was more a story outline that has been developed some and maybe the Author got bored and put it aside. It’s like the Author put some lip gloss on it and put it out for retail - maybe to meet a publishing deadline ??

The time jumps in this book is disconcerting. One paragraph there ending a school year the next paragraph a new school is starting. What read like a few days ends up being weeks or months.

Not sure if the Author is from the US or not, or if they are a High School age person writing books. The inconsistencies were a plenty, but not horrible if you mindlessly read and don’t pay attention.

For instance, how many college student are 21 YO STARTING their Junior year in college? Both MCs had brains so they couldn’t have stayed back a year.

Then the college was more like a high school - I don’t know any college/university that has Homecoming compete with nominated and voted for King & Queen; treats their football quarterback like a god, no matter how good they are, and they all know each other by name including everyone in town. This scenario made reading very surreal. They were doing adult things in a college that felt like high school.

The MCs couldn’t stick to a single moral high ground if their life depended on it. One minute it’s “no” I’m not going to do that, the next few sentences that’s exactly what they did.

The drama was high school level and ridiculous.

The supporting characters are unfinished. Leaving a lot of sudden a stops, the character just fades into the background.

This was the making of a REALLY good novel, if the Author was invested to flush out the storyline and subplots. Currently reads as a novel that’s a rather stilted.

As it stands I do not believe this book was worth the asking price. Maybe as a dollar store buy, at least I wouldn’t feel cheated. I’ve read far better novels for the price.

Overall it was Author has a pleasant writing style and storytelling is good. I would love to see what they could do on a book they felt passionate about and vested their creativity into.

Editing was on point.

I'm not going to rate this one because I don't know how to rate it. It's not 4 stars, but not 3 either. Maybe 3.5/3.75?

Calvin is a handsome man from Nebraska that plays football in college and is kinda ready to go pro, when he isn't doubting his future and whether it is what he really wants.
Macy is a spoiled woman (not in a nasty way) that is not afraid to dress like a model and studies biology in California, but after the divorce of her parents she finds herself in Nebraska living in an old house that her great-grandmother left her mother when she passed.
Macy meets Calvin in a funny way and after that they're kinda starstrucked by each others.
They have a one-night stand and another one after that, and another one again, until they kinda become friends with benefits that are dating but not really because they're keeping things casual.
Or at least, that was the plan until she finds out she's pregnant.

I really liked it. If I have to be honest, I kinda skipped some parts, but maybe it was just because I wasn't in the mood for reading it.

But it was a good book. Well written and most importantly it was different. I'm a great lover of the pregnancy trope, and most of the time it's about two people that have a one-night stand and either they get through the pregnancy together and fall in love along the way, or one of them, or sometimes both, goes away and when they find their way back to each other the man finds out about the secret pregnancy.

This was nothing like it. We get to see them fall in love, even if they don't realize until the very end, and then she finds out she's pregnant. And even if she takes her time to tell him, it happens pretty early.

Plus, she is so cool! I think it's the first time I get to read a book where the heroine cares about her looks, and isn't afraid to appear shallow or something like that, with her perfect hair and nails and her designer clothes, and that studies biology. It's clear, throughout the book, that she's very clever and smart and isn't afraid to show how good she looks. She's gorgeous, and she knows it, and it makes her feel good to dress a certain way.

It was new and I really appreciated it. It was refreshing. (Or maybe I haven't found any similar books yet, but I'd love to read them)

Now, what I would really love to see, is a book where the heroine is pretty much the same, or very similar, but is curvy and not afraid to show it! I kinda need that. (So if you have suggestions, feel free to comment or dm me!)

From L.A. to Cornfields and Unexpected Love ❤⭐👣⭐❤

Another smash hit from Chloe Morgan that's real to life. Calvin Whatley had his life of going pro football planed from the age of three when he picked up a football by his father. As the staring QB for his college team in Nebraska he's practically royalty in his hometown, but is that the life he really wants. Throw in the new girl, Macy, and Calvin literally trips. With a chance meeting at the local watering hole Calvin comes to Macy's rescue when he carries her to the safety of a mutual friends couch. Fate has plans for these two opposites in a way that will put them on a path together. Calvin wants a degree to fall back on but didn't want to disappoint his father. Macy moved to Nebraska with her mom after her dad decided on a divorce. With no prenup, no money and only an inherited house in the cornfields, Macy couldn't just let her mom moved alone. Calvin and Macy click in a way that he can just be Calvin and not the football star. What starts as hook up turns to Macy ghosting him. Calvin is relentless in his chase and Macy gives in. Macy takes Calvin to an unplugged weekend at her childhood home in L.A. to unwind and just be. They get to see a side of each other they show no one else and grow closer than they thought possible. Now Macy is ghosting him again but for different reasons. She doesn't want to ruin his future with the two lines in a stick. She grew up in that situation and doesn't want that for their child. What does Calvin think when she finally take him?? How will this affect his chance going pro?? A MUST READ!!! Calvin and Macy are written was real to life characters, no cheating, his/her POV, no cliffhanger and a HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and happily purchased a copy for my favorites collection. Looking forward to the next C. Morgan story.

Eek idk this feels like a 2013-2014 wattpad book to me.

I mean it wasn’t that bad but definitely not that good.

The events throughout the book didn’t really connect to each other, and some just didn’t make any sense that really got me questioning myself what in the world did just happen. Things were pretty much all on the surface that it felt kinda flat.

The writing was okay I guess. Not that bad but like I said earlier, it reminded me of those 2013-2014 wattpad books, so the conversations, the thoughts, the actions, the fashion styles,… were a bit cringe, OTT and unnecessarily long with unnecessary details. It was lengthy but somehow, still lacking of important details, at least ones that I think would make the storyline and the chemistry between characters a lot better and more sense if they were mentioned and showed on page.

Towards the end, things were so rushed. I feel like the author wanted to make this book HEA, which was not a bad thing, I in fact really like HEA books, but it kinda backfired here with a series of unrealistic characters and actions that went against everything that had been built so far before, it just didn’t make any sense.

Also, I was actually promised a full coverage of the pregnancy here from my Facebook friend(s), and I was so excited because of the title and the premise, but Hello? Was I scammed?? Because I feel scammed. And I blame those Facebook recommendations.

Still, this was somewhat enjoyable but it’s really a shame that I think this had the right idea but the wrong way to execute, sorry.

Eh, it was an ok Book

She was... How do I put this,
Childish, at first I thought this book was gonna be Awesome. In the first chapter, she seemed like she was gonna be a badass queen,
then she gets there looking like a model (which he has said he loves about her, and how hot she dresses throughout the book)
she mostly ran from everything. And it was a funny mix between she thought she confident, then she goes running home or to school or away in general, and thinking about how "Everyone was gonna think This. This. And this" I don't think she thought an action thru the whole book but maybe... Twice? Three times, yeah! No, she thought of moving with her mom, And Number two was not telling him she was pregnant because her mom "didn't want her making the same mistakes she did" BUT SHE ALREADY DID BY THAT POINT!!!
she ran FROM him because she was scared, not once but twice...
She mostly though of what her mom was saying and how her dad acted when he found out about her mom being pregnant with her,
and how she was going to ruin his life
because he was going to the NFL (when he more then once Hinted that he wasn't happy with the way everything was happening,)
and how "EVERYONE WAS GOING TO THINK" That she did it on purpose;
Then it keeps time skipping throughout weeks and months, and you miss out on just about the Whole pregnancy:
The best part of the book id have to say was the end it was cute and a little funny,
Overall an ok book

I absolutely loved this story! This is the first book I’ve read from this author and she did not disappoint!

Both Calvin and Macy have had both a spoiled/pampered life and a disappointing life they have kept secret from their friends. But when they got together their chemistry was electric and they found their peace within each other.

Macy’s life turned upside down when her mother told her about her big life change. Being the good daughter that she is, she followed her mother to help her out and met a hunky college football star. She tried to fight her feelings for him but when she realizes she is late for her period she knows she can’t fight it anymore.

Calvin is the star QB of his college football team and is getting cold feet about going pro. He has been primed for this since he was young. Feeling like he couldn’t make a decision on his future, he vents to Macy. She is the perfect person to help him through his problems, even if she makes it a little difficult for him sometimes.

Their chemistry was great and the support they both had for each other was amazing. This was definitely a great read. I look forward to reading more from this author. I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving a free copy.

Who would have thought...going from LA to farm land would be the biggest change in your life. And I am not talking about just the location of where we moved to. My father has turned my life upside down. My mom is out of her marriage and out of LA. We are living in my great grandmother's house. It is old but has a lot of potential.
But that is not the biggest change to come.

I have been playing football for longer than I can remember. It is my dad's dream...but is it mine. I am the big man in town, our college team kicks ass...and we love it. But do I love it enough to make this my career. I have to figure out what I want to do with my life. I can't be what my dad wants me to do.

Then a chance meeting turns both Macy and Calvin's life around in a way that neither of them ever expected.

It is a great book and I love seeing these two figure out what the hell is going on.

Ciao

I’m not a sports fan, but I am a sports fiction fan. This book was utterly sweet and steamy and just so very much fun to read. I think, to one extent or another, we’ve all experienced what Calvin and Macy are going through in this book: your life feeling like it’s completely out of your control. Maybe not in the same ways they do, but the feeling is probably familiar. I ached for Calvin when it looked like his father wouldn’t hear him. And I hurt for Macy that all her plans for her future suddenly changed, first for her mother, then for Calvin. I am impressed by the maturity and grace this pair faced all their changes in circumstance with. And I’m sorry to have to let them go now that the book’s over.

I get a kick out of C. Morgan's college romances. This one was so much fun and so romantic at the same time.
Macy and Calvin started out together unconventionally. Calvin was the star jock at a Nebraska University when he meets Macy after she transfers there from California. Macy looks different from the other girls at the school. Most girls don't wear the clothing she wears, so she kind of stands out. Especially to Calvin.
Most people think Calvin is a womanizer, but once he's with Macy all other women pale in comparison.
I loved the way the two of them interacted. I loved the story with her mother and how she had to start over after a divorce. This story has all the "feels" and has a beautiful HEA!
You will not be disappointed with this book!

I really loved this book. This story is about Macy and Calvin. Macy’s dad decides he wants a divorce so Macy moves with her mother to Nebraska. when her dad decides he wants a divorce. This couple meets when they are in college. Calvin is a football jock on campus but his passion is to be a serious and successful student. He wants his degree in case football doesn’t work out. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get much support as his father only cares about his football career. As Calvin and Macy get closer, they help each other and given into their attraction and before you know it, she’s pregnant. This is sure to Interfere with his career but does he care. This is such a brilliant read.
Macy is now living in Nebraska with her mother after her father files for divorce and leaves her mother with nothing.
When she first sees Calvin she can't believe how good looking he is but soon finds out that he is a player.
Calvin wants to meet the new girl at college but she keeps giving him the runaround.
When they are together the chemistry between them is off the charts but when she keeps ghosting him will he give up.
They are brilliant together but when she finds out that she is pregnant she struggles with what to do.
Can they get their HEA when he is close to being drafted into the NFL.
A book not to be missed and loved the ending.

Calvin has to chase Macy, and she is not easy to catch. When Macy’s parents divorced and Macy and her mom moved to Nebraska, Macy meets Calvin, the love of her life. She tries so hard to fight the feelings that she has for Calvin. She wants to graduate first. That is her top priority, but Calvin slowly creeps into her heart and they both explode with emotions and feelings and love that they never thought possible. Each one is trying so hard to protect the other, they seem to be playing tug-of-war constantly. Ghost and then not ghost. Text and then not text. Talk and then not talk. Calvin knows she’s the one, but he just has to convince her of it. I absolutely loved this book. Calvin knows what he wants, and he wants Macy forever. Fantastic. Superb. Heart tugging romance.

Another great story from C. Morgan! Well written with great character development, I love a good opposites attract book, and that's what we get to Calvin and Macy.

Macy's life took a huge, unexpected turn with the change in her parents' marriage and finds herself now moving to Nebraska with her mom. Calvin is the town's golden boy star quarterback, who is wanting a bit of a different path in his from what his father wants for him. Loved the chemistry between these two, and how comfortable he could be when he was with her, like he could really be his true self. That chemistry led to Macy suddenly ghosting Calvin, and while I didn't necessarily agree with it, I could understand why she made that choice. I thought the story had a good wrap up for these two.

Such an unlikely pair.

Calvin & Macy meet when she is in line to register her classes in junior year of college. She has just moved here. He trips coming out of the same office she’s going to go in, because he keeps looking at her. He is the QB of the football team and well known and has a reputation with the girls. On that note, Macy avoids him. Fate seems to bring them together, but afterward she keeps ghosting him. How long can this on and off go on? It’s an intriguing story. As I was reading, I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next, and yes, there were things that happened that got my full attention. That’s what I expect in a story, and this one was not disappointing.

This is my first book by the author, and I loved this book. I felt bad for Calvin, it seems like his opinions never matter to his father, never felt comfortable to talk to how he truly felt. Macy came into his life just when he needed her, the game and life seemed to stop having meaning for him, and he had lost his spark for life. Macy make him take a weekend off and really helps gives him new look on life. When she finds out she is pregnant she starts avoiding him due to her own baggage.

Cannot wait to read more from the author.

Macy moves with her mother to Nebraska when her dad decides he wants a divorce. Macy is helping her mother fix up the house and get settled into a slower way of life. Calvin meets Macy when she is in the collage office getting set up with classes. He’s known as the football jock on campus but deep down he really cares about getting a degree just in case football doesn’t pan out, but all dear ole daddy cares about is his football career. Calvin and Macy help each other out dealing with their families. Throw in some chemistry and a surprise baby and this is defiantly a page turner.

This story could be true of many college students and the football players. Macy moves to Nebraska with her mother after her divorce. She is signing up for classes when she meets the football jock, Calvin. He puts on a good show to fall in line with his dad expectations. Macy is warned to stay away from Calvin. They have a wonderful night during homecoming. Macy has surprise that she does not want to share with Calvin. Calvin surprises her with how he reacts. Will they have a future together?

This is a sweet romance between college students, Macy and Calvin. These likeable characters and the unique plot make for an enjoyable read. What starts out as a hookup turns into something more. It is a love story with enough drama, humor, steam, frustrating moments, sweetness, family dynamic, twists and turns, and engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. A quick read with a happy ending.

Calvin Whatley is the starting quarterback of the Nebraska University football team, with dreams of one day making it into the NFL. Macy Dennings just moved from California, when her parents divorced. Calvin and Macy don't hit it off right away, but eventually he wears her down and they get together. With Calvin finally feeling like he can just be himself and not the jock everyone expects him to be, he is a little shocked when Macy 'ghosts' him. Determined not to ruin his future, Macy hides a secret, but will avoiding Calvin be enough to keep him from learning the truth?

Another good read from Chloe Morgan. It is well written and has amazing characters. This is such a sweet romance between college students, Macy and Calvin. I fell in love with the characters. It was very enjoyable read and the plot was interesting. You never know how things are going to especially from a casual hookup. This is definitely a love story filled with humor, sweetness, family, drama, a few frustrations, just the right amount of steam and a few twists and turns thrown in. It’s a quick read but won’t disappoint and HEA.

C Morgan really captured the feelings and described it right when she said Macy moving from L.A. to Nebraska was like moving to another country. Macy wore the clothes to her college classes that she had always worn but Deidre was calling her names and whispering to her friends (girls could be so mean). Calvin was starstruck and literally tripping over himself the first time he saw Macy. He thought she was gorgeous. This is their story as wrll as his football story. Easyread, standalone HEA. I loved reading this.

Sport Romance

I really love sport romance, especially with surprise baby added in. This book had the mix of a bit of drama and romance. I liked the love hate relationships within the family members although it lacked any interaction from Macys dad, he was mentioned but no interaction. ( that was disappointing and could have made another aspect to the storyline )
Macy was frustrating the way retreated Calvin over and over ghosting him and he just accepted her behavior. Macy's
Overall enjoyable.

This is a great read, with characters that were meant to be loved! Macy is a smart, strong, capable woman and doesn’t let anything get in her way. Calvin, the loved football star with a heart! He’s loyal and sweet. I enjoyed how they played off each other, the back and forth between them added a lot of spark to the story. The story moves well, kept me entertained and flipping pages from start to finish!
