Dear Mysterious Woman in Jail Cell Next To Mine, You’re the one. The woman I am meant to marry. The fact that I don’t know what you look like or even your name, is no concern of mine. Well, maybe a little. But you sound hot. Wait, that doesn’t sound right, let me try again. I’m a billionaire. Even the huge gossip site, Masked Eyes, calls me devilishly handsome and billionaire I’d like to bang. My publicist is telling me to erase the previous paragraph but I don’t think I will because I want you to know that I got a lot going for me. Someone that many women would love to marry but I am choosing you. Will you marry me? No pressure, but I need to know soon. I have an inheritance depending on it. Yours Matrimonially, Hamish Blackwell
I picked up this book after reading #2 in the series, which is available for free now for a short time. I got up at one point to do I don't know, and I thought to myself, "I love this book." It's fun, a little on the ridiculous side, definitely towards the end .
I was wondering when Jami & Hamish were going to kiss, but then when they did, they didn't stop and got into it. Seems like all they did during marriage was have sex & eat lol.
I really liked how Hamish didn't notice anything wrong with Jami, and when she told him that she had autism, he even seemed surprised. Whereas everyone else thought there was something wrong with her and treated her differently, like a child because of it.
It was funny how Hamish was like man, they live here. It's like a trailer. When it was a regular sized house. He also thought his grandfather's chalet was small, when Jami thought it was huge. I wonder what house was living in then and what he considered huge. Hamish's ego was amusing and added flavor to his character. I also liked Jami's personality.
No one really talks about it, but you could also consider this an age gap because she's 21 and he's almost 30. I'm about to be 21 in a few days, and let me tell you, I'm nowhere ready to date anyone who is 29...
You can always bet on finding a good time and a funny story from this author. Her books are super sexy, quirky and goofy in a funny way.
Hamish was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but even being a little oblivious about the struggles of other people, he's honest and caring. He was blunt, but genuine and considerate. I specially enjoyed how he treated and truly respected Jami. He was honest with her, yet considerate to her feelings, even more so than her own family was. He treated her as an adult, an equal. Jami had her own way of dealing with things, of managing feelings and truths. She struggled about some aspects of life, but she was also smart, driven and willing to be more independent, as she should and could be.
And the cool thing is that Jami wasn't the only one learning in this unconventional encounter. Hamish learned a lot from her as well, which helped balance their relationship. They were genuine and pure living in a cruel and dirty world, so not only were they set apart from the ugliness, they also connected deeply. Their chemistry was really good, their sexy times was scorching and they clicked effortlessly. Added to all that, the silly and goofy scenes made the book lighter.
Completely unpredictable despite a title that might suggest otherwise It's hard not to say too much about this story without revealing its plot. The characters are excellent and unpredictable by what others might see as flaws from a social point of view, but which are seen by the characters as qualities. Hamish and Jami, are apart, by their way of behaving, perpetually judged for what they are or what they have and unsuited to the pattern of the majority of the population because they represent a very small part of it. . Their meeting, the way others want to protect them, but ultimately hurt them, or manipulate them, everything makes their story touching. I really loved this unusual story and encounter. The author has managed to convey who her characters are before words are even writen about their behavior and who they are. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Hamish is a tough one to like at first. He is so arrogant because that's the way he was raised. His opinion of himself is based on his wealth and his looks. Plus it's the way everyone has treated him because of his wealth. The best thing to ever happen to him is being arrested for murder. His perspective changes. He hears a woman in the next cell who doesn't care who he is or why he's there. She's there too after all. But she is the fresh air and truth that he needs. Jami is honest to a fault. Her personality is like no other but she is sweet and innocent in almost everything. She doesn't know why the truth is so hard to find. She knows she loves her sisters and her nephew and that all she needs on her world. Hamish is different though because he treats her as an adult. The first person to do so ever. Their love story is unusual. He needs her to fulfill the stipulations of his grandfather's will but he finds he needs her love more. She wants to help him because of the growing feelings between them. They may have started out as fake but the truth may be what they both need.
This book brought the escape from reality that I so desperately needed. Hamish is a billionaire that needs a twenty-one-year-old virgin to fulfil his late grandfather’s one condition of his will. Jami is exactly who Hamish needs but their introduction is unconventional. She will help him find the woman he needs even when she finds out he has been arrested and is in the cell next to her.
Jami is beautiful. Her heart and character were written with such honesty and compassion. Hamish is exactly who Jami needs but the more the story progresses, it is Hamish who needs Jami. The way he treats her and allows her to grow had me crying beautiful, wonderful, happy tears for her. This story has so much to it. It is heartwarming, funny, sexy, suspenseful and a little dangerous. Grab up this wonderful escape of a story.
Fake Marrying the Billionaire is such an amazing read. I loved every moment of this one and the fact we get to be in Blue Ridge Mountain. Hamish is honest by fault and trying to do right by his grandfathers inheritance. He has this different way about him that you are going to love. Then there is Jami one of the fabulous Nutter sisters. She is everything Hamish didn't know he was missing in his life. She has this way about her that will put a smile on your face with her nature. I love how Hamish is with her and treats her as an equal and not a child like everyone around her. There is such amazing chemistry between Hamish and Jami that make the pages sizzle. You will not be able to put this quirky read down as Hamish and Jami show you what happens when things are no longer fake. I had a smile on my face the entire read. I did not want this one to end. I love Hamish and Jami so much. You need to one click this one and get to know them.
I give this book 3 stars. I really wanted to give it more starts as in the beginning The book was going really well, I was enjoying it until the last 5 chapters. At that point it seemed forced and ridiculous to create conflict and a far fetched almost ridiculous circumstances to catch the bad guy. All the sudden everything was confessed, from the DA, the bag guy himself, the misunderstandings between the two characters to break up. The author almost wanted to channel Scooby-Doo, Shaggy and all the gang to show how to solved the mystery. I really was expecting Jamie FMC to have solved it all by herself since she seemed observant to pick up stuff in the other previous books. But not, the plot there surprised me going in a boring predictable direction. The bonus epilogue wasn’t that good, it was a lame sex scene nothing really exciting. I was expecting them to be pregnant or maybe Jamie getting a good job, she seemed smarter than her sisters and with a lot of potential, sometimes she seemed a strong female character and sometimes dumb/doormat etc. I liked how the MMC Hamish treated so well the female MC, even with his out of touch reality of how middle class people lived, he still was a good guy who treated Jamie with respect and dealt well with her autistic quirks. Because of the book being good up to chapter 20 I give it 3. stars then I take off 2 stars for the dumb plot of events from that chapter and on and the weak epilogue and bonus. I strongly believe if the author would have fix the last chapter this book could have been really great.
Sex: yes 🌶🌶/🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 HEA: yes Standalone book but part of a series so we get to see the other characters. Would I recommend: yes this book! forget the other books about her sisters. This one had more potential.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The was a sweet, cute read. I found it lacking though. What the author was trying to obtain, fell flat. I loved the fact that Jami was autistic. More work needed to be done with the story line. The drama twist also fell flat. It seemed more immature. Overall, it needed more development.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book.
This one was part of my free romance book festival buying binge. It is an understatement to say that I bought a ton of books. I might as well of had extended my arm into a shelf at a bookstore, and started walking to take every book on the shelf. That being said, I made it a point to buy things I do not normally. This fell into that category.
I was looking forward to reading a book with neurodiversity. Honestly, that was the only thing that kept me reading. I only started to like Jami around pg 60, and then Jami and Hamish as a couple at about 120.
I was angry that Lynx even wrote a book with the marriage criteria. It felt creepy and disgusting that it had to be a 21 yr old virgin that Hamish married by the time he was 30. I didn't understand how that was even enforceable. What if Hamish married prior to the grandfather's death? What if he married a 25yr old virgin? What if Hamish didnt marry by the time he was 30 and the grandfather died after that specific birthdate? I guess I applaud that it wasn't a child bride situation or that a doctor had to verify she was a virgin. But, that is a rather low bar to be playing with.
Next, I was angry that Jami had no life skills. They said that she never cooked anything, but prepped stuff. Then for her first dish, she makes cranberry sauce. That is where you start? Not a grilled cheese or a pancake? I doubt she was alone in the kitchen when she made that monstrosity too. Why didn't anyone stop the garlic, basil mess she was making?
If she knew how to drive, why didn't anyone take her to get her driver license? I don't think she was still living with her parents, so why didn't a sister take her when she moved in with them?
I just failed to understand how Jami went to college, sorry, I mean university, and picked up no lifeskills. Did she go to a local school? If so, then her town is probably large enough to not be demolished by cousin Dick. If she went out of town, how did she make it? All of her meals at the cafeteria? How did she get around? Walk? The bus? Could she even do laundry?
Hamish was a different kind of trainwreck. He was rich, so don't try to play off that he has never seen food before and could confuse blueberries with red cabbage.
He was rude and spoiled, and tried to also make Jami so as well.
I liked this book by the time I finished it, but I had to force myself to not quit on this book when I normally would have.
I just Love Ms. Lynx’s book. Her books are always well written, have a great underlying meaning and they Always make me smile. Fake Marrying the Billionaire is no exception. I laughed, smiled and hurt a little right along with the characters.
Hamish is handsome and knows it and often labeled a devilishly handsome playboy. He is a billionaire in his own right but at his grandfather's death, he stands to inherit a lot more. But the will states he Must marry by his 30th birthday (which is a few weeks away) and stay married for a few months. He really doesn’t need or want the money but if he doesn’t marry everything goes to Dick, his “Dick” of a cousin. But who could he get to marry, that fits the stipulations she must fulfill according to the will? But when he hears a voice he knows she’s the one. The trouble is, he has no clue who she is. But he’s determined to find her.
Jami, the woman with the voice Hamish is determined to find, melted my heart. She is a young woman determined to be looked at as an adult rather than a child. You see, she is on the autism spectrum. Everyone, including her family, looks at her and thinks she will never amount to anything. But when Hamish finally finds her, he treats her differently. To Jami, he sees the woman she is, not her supposed issues that everyone else sees. My Heart just melted with the way these two interacted. But was it an act so he could get his inheritance or has Hamish truly found the one.
Awesome read. I can’t recommend it enough. This is book 3 in the Blue Ridge Mountain Billionaires series. You don’t have to read the first 2 to enjoy this book, but I highly recommend all of them.
Trigger Warnings include: mentions of murder, kidnapping, torture, drug overdose, (some instances detailed on page)
I knew right away Hamish is not a stereotypical billionaire. For one, he’s humble. Like…adorably so. He’s also annoyed because he’s famous because of how good looking he is with all his money, but not why he has the money. When some things go down (I won’t get into it, you need to be surprised and laugh along at the chaos like I did), he goes into hiding. When Hamish and Jami cross paths a second time, he recognizes her because of her rooster. Yeah, you read that sentence correctly. Hamish gets the grand idea that she would be the perfect fit to fulfill his Grandfather’s will, and she happily obliges. I loved that Hamish wanted to protect her, out of respect. Not out of worry and concern like everyone else. The kindness and selflessness between them is so enjoyable! This is definitely an adventure! There was never a dull moment! I didn’t realize I was nearing the end of the book until I looked down at the percentage I was at! Don’t you love when that happens?
My Favorite Quote: • “When you smiled, I felt a little warmer. When you held my hand, I was a little stronger. And when you spoke to me, I became a whole lot wiser. You helped me see the beauty of everything around me, that it couldn’t be bought. Now I hope you take my hand and never let go.”
7/10 Dirty Birdy 6/10 Fake Relationship 4/10 Forced Proximity 5/10 Instalove 6/10 Marriage of Convenience 9/10 The CEO Type
Book 3 in this series did not disappoint. When multi billionaire Hamish comes to see his friend Rock he is surprised to get a call by his lawyer Jenner to find out that his recently deceased grandfather posted in his will that Hamish must be married to a 21 year old virgin prior to his 30th birthday which is only a month away. If he doesn't, his mean and horrible cousin gets it all.
Now when Hamish stops at the local coffee shop to get a coffee on his way to Rock's resort he is surprised when police rush in and arrest him for murder. When he gets to the small police station he is thrown in one of the 2 cells. He can't see around the wall of the cell but he strikes up a conversation with who he finds out is a young woman.
When she is escorted out Hamish never gets her name or even sees her. He just knows she fits his grandfather's parameters for his will and has a rooster named Nancy. When he is let out of jail he hides at an old part of the resort that Rock brings him to.
Hamish is taken to Rock's family's home for dinner where his girlfriend Laura and her 2 sister's also live. There he meets a beautiful but quiet young woman who barely looks at him. He finds out her name is Jami, and she owns a rooster named Nancy. Game on!
Loved this story and how it touches on people living on the autism spectrum. Need more about Monty and Jami's oldest sister who has a son with an unnamed father. Enjoy!
This is a well edited and easy read that has some charming elements. The plot is a bit of everything and the kitchen sink. Hamish is a billionaire whose inheritance depends on him being able to marry a 21 years old virgin before his birthday, due to his late grandfather's absurd will. He meets a 21 years old virgin in jail, of all places, because he has been arrested for murder. Jami is autistic and struggles with people thinking she's stupid or childish or unable to deal with adulting due to her diagnosis. She is smart and got a Bachelor's degree, but she also does some dumb things like puts garlic in cranberry sauce. When she got arrested she had a baby in a burning car and it didn't occur to her that it wasn't safe. But neurotypical people screw up too, eg. His lawyer keeps losing his phones absurdly often. Jami and Hamish get fake married but they also want to have very real sex and learn to cook together. He is rather nonchalant about being arrested for murder as he stresses a lot more about Jami than he does a possible life sentence. In the end there's a slight element of danger and the murder mystery gets solved with the least amount of legwork: the villain just shows up and obligingly reveals everything.
There were things about this I liked but it was a little hard for me to get into the characters. I got a hidden gems arc and this is a voluntary review.
This story involves a slightly out of touch with reality billionaire who has been accused of murder for a man he has never met and a heroine that wants to prove to herself and her sisters that she can do something right, after being told from many she could never live on her own due to her autism. Due to inheritance stipulations, our billionaire must get married, quickly, to a woman who falls in a very particular category. Our heroine meets the criteria but doesn't agree until after she has met the man the money will go to if he doesn't marry. That man does everything possible to make the money go to him since he currently got nothing. Even though it only had to be a temporary marriage, and that was the plan going into it, they fell in love. But that doesn't mean they could stay together unless they found a way to succeed after all his cousin did to make them fail. The story is filled with heat, humor, and mystery. I enjoyed it a lot and definitely want to go back to the others in the series.

It was cute and sweet. Hamish is set to inherit money and property from his late grandfather but he has to marry a 21 year old virgin before his 30th birthday. He was visiting his friend, Rock, when he was arrested. Hamish jail cell happen to be next one with a woman in it. He didn't get see her or learn her name but she told him she was 21 and a virgin. He sets out to find her and he does. Turns our Jami is the little sister of Rock's fiance. Rock talks Hamish into hiring Jami as his assistant who will help find him a bride. Lo and behold Jami ends up marrying Hamish instead. Their fake marriage turns into a real marriage.
It is a fast and easy read. You will like Hamish and Jami.
Not sure why I was waiting to read this, I enjoyed this read! The book holds your attention and makes you want to finish to see what happens. Jami is autistic and I feel that she is portrayed pretty accurately. The way some treat her is pretty disheartening and I would have liked to see a little more of a conversation with her sisters in regards to their treatment of her. Hamish never noticed and he treated her like everyone else, I loved that about him. There were some twists I wasn't expecting, and I thought the love scenes were good as well. I have the others in the series but it had been long time since I read then, so this can be read as a stand alone, although it dies make me want to go back and read the others again. Enjoyable read, would read again!
I have read the previous books in this series so I was excited to get my hands on a copy of book three thru Hidden Gems. The Blue Ridge Mountain Billionaires are very fun to read. If you like humor mixed in with steaminess, you will enjoy these. In Fake Marrying the Billionaire, Hamish has a very specific need and, as luck would have it, the solution to his problem happens to be in the jail cell next to him. Yep, jail cell. OK, there may be a touch of suspense in the book, too, which just adds to the story. I highly recommend this book and the previous ones in the series. This is a voluntary review.
I am so happy to be back in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hamish is a rich debonair man who in order to claim his inheritance must marry before he is 30. He doesn't know what to do until he hears Jami's voice and decides she is the one! Jami is a ray of sunshine and might be what the billionaire needs. Together, they will learn to overcome a lot and Jami will finally be looked at as an adult and not a child anymore. A great love story that will leave you with a smile on your face. I volunteered to review this story.
3.5 stars Quick read. A fun story full of smiles. Jami and Hamish have an unusual first meet. They are both I jail. Without seeing her, Hamish knows this is the woman he needs to marry to fulfill his grandfather’s will. Jami is loyal, sweet and honest to a fault but she is tired if everyone treating her like a child. Hamish treats her like an adult. Hamish is the handsome billionaire with a very high opinion of himself. His thoughts will cause eye rolling as well as a few laughs. The two together find what the other is missing. Fun insta love with a decent but predictable plot
Book three from this series is written well and has likeable characters who have believable connection and chemistry. The story has an interesting meeting which leads to finding the one who is so right for you, their story holds your interest as you care about them and want everything to work out for them. It takes you on a journey and fills you with love. I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving an ARC.
This was a fun read, with a serouisness in it. It’s easy to treat people different if they don’t ’behave’ exactly the same as you do. Hamish didn’t have any issues with Jamie. He saw her as the adult she was. Not someone that needs to be taken care of - more than you do with someone you love. Jamie felt comfortable with Hamish and his way of trettonhelgen her as an equal. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
3 stars plus 3 cheers for neurodiversity representation in romance books! I would love to see more of that. The story line is kind of all over the place and the moments that were supposed to be funny kind of fell flat for me but it was a different take on a popular trope. Nancy the Rooster was a highlight. It took me awhile to enjoy the main characters together. I got this book for free from a Stuff Your Kindle event and, as such, am fine with the fact that it turned out just ok.
I barely got to page 2 😭😭 I was not vibing with the MMC. He was so full go himself.
"Did I mention I was a billionaire? Born rich and with good looks, I had it all. But I refused to let it go to my head. Here I was, at a regular coffee shop, amongst the non-billionaires, grabbing a regular morning coffee. The elite would never come to an establishment like this."
Like do you hear yourself?!? Anyways, this book was not for me.
Jami has autism. She uses a rooster named Nancy to help with anxiety until she meets, and marries, Hamish. Jami might be one of my favorite book heroines ever simply because she feels that it's best to tell the truth because not doing so only causes trouble. I feel exactly the same way....
This was a good read. I loved Jami and Hamish starts to grow on you. There were some unexpected moments so I appreciate how everything is tied up and resolved by the end.
Side note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review
I really enjoyed this story it was so different, and the characters were perfect they just fit together. I was not sure once I started reading but once I got into it the story was fantastic. I needed that kind of story it had everything in it you could want.
This book started off extra. He’s full of himself.
Then his grandfather’s will want him to not only marry, but a 21 year old virgin. Why does she have to be a virgin? Absolutely not. He’s not why should she be.
This is really somewhere between like 3 and 4 stars. Cute, but cheesy. Repetitive at times. I saw the twist/ending coming on who did it from the beginning.
Overall love the autism representation and that overall is what gives it the 4 star rating.
