The Fall: A Novel of Horror

Rate this book
Father and daughter head into the majesty of the Rocky Mountains on a guided elk hunting adventure. When Michelle falls down a steep rockslide and disappears, Wiley’s search for her will prove the biggest adventure of all. When he witnesses the guides butchering the horse Michelle rode on before the fall, he knows something is very wrong. When the Sheriff also disappears, leaving behind nothing but a splotch of blood, he knows he’s on his own against those who have his daughter. Only, the evidence is mounting to suggest that those who have her may not be of this world.

The Fall was gripping and fast-paced and I can't wait to dive into book two of this trilogy. Such a fun read.

Sorry, but no.

One reviewer on Amazon equated this author/story to be better than Stephen King. I just don’t see that.

The plot is interesting most of the time, but I definitely flipped ahead to get through some of the rambling parts. By the end, there are tons of questions, no answers and we are forced to get the second book if the reader wants any kind of resolution.

Why are these people out doing extreme mountain adventuring/hunting if they have no experience (not wearing the right clothes), don’t have a good working relationship with their guides, and one of them is terrified of heights?!

Wiley sounds ultra rich so if you have a bad feeling, why not just turn around or cancel. It doesn’t sound like anyone’s having fun. Michelle/Rocky is insufferable, as are most of the other characters, except for Joe, Jimmy, Max and The Lads.

The sentence structure didn’t always make the most sense, and there seemed to be a few typos & editing errors.

I won’t be reading the second book at this point.
